I haven't been able to play that much because of work but I've cleared Classic with 10 chars. And I've been playing For Glory 1 v 1. My records for that:
Matches played: 25
Matches won: 1
Matches lost: 24.

My god I suck at Smash. Mostly been playing For Glory with Lucina, Link, Greninja

Hopefully there will be some GCN Virtual Console games in the future at least.
Unfortunately I kinda see why it's only compatible with Smash.

I'm just annoyed that they originally said it WOULD have compatibility with other Wii U/Wii games...

Well... anyway... so has any Wii U-specific modes been announced yet? I don't follow Miiverse all that much.

The 4 KOs milestone isn't too hard to get with Shulk if you abuse his down B counter and play defensively for the most part. I initially tried it with Peach for a while by trying to spam side B from off the edge of the stage since they don't go after you, but it's still too risky.

That's what a lot of people have told me but I have 61 now and still no 3rd panel. Nvm, got it when I unlocked the Duck Hunt Dog.

A lot of the Youtube comments on there are talking about how good the Wii U's multiplayer experience will be. I lack the heart to tell them that Peer to Peer connections are going to cause the same problems people have had on the 3DS, unless Nintendo does some basic connection quality testing with clients. Which in turn will discriminate players based on connection quality unless there is no "better choice" of opponents.

And if they do that, then there really wasn't much of a reason to avoid doing that for the 3DS. Ah, fun times.

I've had pretty reasonable latency playing online entirely with Japanese people, aside from a handful of sketchy matches. Local multiplayer will always trump it, of course, but I'm wondering how much better it will be to play with other Australians online for me.

Playing regionally should be (near) flawless, though of course it depends on the players' internet connections. I've pretty much had no issues playing with people in the US (just minor input delays, but that's about it).

I just die because the lag screws with my recovery. (PK Thunder is hard to land :()
4 - 4 is my record so far, and those loses were due to lag...

As a fellow Ness mainer, I definitely feel for you. So far I had no lag at all whenever I played (and I did play a considerable amount of time online), but I know how frustrating it can be to have lag with him.

Yeah, it's kind of more fun in multiplayer, but then again everything is more fun in multiplayer. I kind of really like the mode either way.

My top 3 fighters would be Rosalina, Kirby and either Zero-Suit Samus or Shulk, and items would be Home-Run Bat, Ore Club and Beam Sword.

X Bomb indeed is fun, and Pokémon balls have always been a nice touch which makes Master Ball even cooler. For some reason, I feel like there's less variation for Pokémon and Master Ball Pokémon in this game, which has made it less exciting for me every time either of the balls appear. Not sure if that's just a gut feeling or if they've really cut down the palette of choices.

Top 3 fighters: Zelda, Greninja, Pac-Man (I'd like to add Fox here as well, he was one of my mains since the very first Smash Bros. game. He still is at some point.)
Top 3 items: I'm not really an item player, but... Master Ball, Home-Run Bat and X Bomb.

Smash Run is fun, but probably would be better in multiplayer. Didn't have a chance to play with any of my local friends yet, totally needs online.

As for Smash Run, I feel like 5 minutes collecting stuff is too long but overall it's enjoyable seeing your character so buffed up and blitzing across the map.

Xander Mobus (Name of the announcer in smash bros and the video) was great.

Loved the Jr. / Koopalings video as well. Hopefully we get a cool Duck Hunt one too :D

Also. I'm glad we got DLC announced.. Opens up a lot more possibilities in the future :)

The one issue that I have though is that apparently you NEED to buy both versions to actually be able to download Mewtwo from what I've read. Mind you that I only read a summary and didn't watch the stream, but I'm trusting the summary for now. Oh dear...

There's probably gonna be an option where you don't need to buy both but will have to pay for a DLC pack or something when more characters come out. Just a guess.

They mentioned 8 Player Smash isn't available for online so you won't need to worry about it.

Ice Climbers? Probably not, since they want to have the same roster for both games, and Sakurai already said that the Ice Climbers wouldn't work on the 3DS. So it only makes sense for them not to appear as a DLC either.
I don't really care about Wolf (heck, I don't even care about Mewtwo either, I'd rather prefer Isaac from Golden Sun. Even 5 slots for Pokemon was already too much in my opinion...), but he along with Lucas -might- be options.

So I found this extremely hilarious: even if you get a squeaky Golden Hammer, if someone gets sent flying and you hit them with said hammer, the KO goes to you instead /o/ Not sure if this was ever since Brawl, but I just recently experienced that.

In particular, it's about the fact that one Thunder from Pikachu is enough to completely fill Mr. Game and Watch's bucket, which in itself gets you KOs very easily (naturally, you'd have to play with rules that allow you to hurt your teammates). To see it in action, I recommend this video.

Also, while not related to this combo, I just found this little gem of a glitch.

I've gotten squeaky Golden Hammers a few times and broken normal Hammers several times, though I usually play 30/60 minute matches, so...

EDIT: There's an update that supposedly balances the game, but I wonder if characters were affected.

EDIT 2: North Americans can get three posters from Club Nintendo.

Finally got around to playing for a bit today. Really enjoying the game - after getting used to the controls.
Don't have everyone unlocked yet, but my favourites are probably:
-Toon Link: Feels the same as before for the most part. Seems to recover from his throw a little quicker.
-Falco: His front-B and B feels like it goes a shorter distance, which annoys me a little.
-Kirby: Love him. Still not a fan of his front-B but that just means one less move to use.

Still haven't unlocked Ganandorf so I haven't been able to try him... looking forward to him and Lucina.

Ganondorf.

Super Armor is a state in which your character can't flinch/get sent flying from any attack (Giga Bowser and Mega Lucario are perfect examples of this). The fact that Warlock Punch (Ganondorf's default Neutral B) is already so powerful is just... yeah...

The reason why I say partly is because that attack can still be interrupted.

Apparently if Wario uses his default Down Special (probably might work with the customs as well) AFTER being attacked/tossed, the game counts it as being launched by another player.

My friend and I literally laughed our sides off after this happened XD

I somehow got a score of 176k in Smash Run (with Rosalina, btw).

Also, has anyone finished Classic with Difficulty 9? Also what in the world does "Clear Classic with difficulty 9.0 or higher" mean?

Smash Bros 4 DLC is coming out increasing the Risk meter to 12.

(Not really, I'm sure we would all die.)

I managed to beat it at 9.0 with Lucario after fighting at the lower Intensities and all phases of Master Core so much. Honestly, most--if not, a majority--of the attack patterns are predictable once you've seen them all.

EDIT: SSB 3DS Themes (Japan-only at the moment):

I actually like the 4th one's appearance, but the music and SFX for it ruin it for me :/ I'll probably get the 1st (if/when these come out overseas), though.

Played a lot in the past week.
-Falco: I feel like his smash is really sluggish... When I see an opportunity for a kill, it's just too slow to act.
-Lucina: Probably my favourite since I unlocked her. I don't like that her aerial attacks (aside her down-A) have close to no punch to them though.
-Ness: I actually like how he plays now. All three of his smash attacks have more kick to them for sure (though his front-A has a short reach). Just have to get used to the fact that his PK Thunder doesn't turn the same way as Lucas' did from Brawl... because that's what I'm used to!
-Charizard: Am I the only one who keeps using his Front-B when I want his Down-B? I've flown right off the edge more than once using it when I wanted Down-B. >_>
