  5. 00:47:105 (1) - I feel that holding the vocals here allows better emphasis of track being mapped. The vocal IS being held since it's a repeat slider ?... o.O
  6. 01:03:727 (2,3) - It would be pretty cool if you move the (2) under the slider and move the (3) up so it blankets with 01:03:321 (1), allowing a nice flow going into 01:04:132 (4) Then the flow from 01:03:321 (1) - to 01:03:727 (2) - would be horrid; flow is fine as it is
  7. 01:05:348 (7,8) - Could make some nice triangle patterns using these two circles with the slider heads and tails.   8. 01:21:565 (7,8) - I think you could move this lower you could blanket it with 01:21:159 (6) no need to, the slider's already blanketting 01:19:943 (2) - and it wouldn't fit the spacing
  9. 01:25:416 (6,8) - If you Ctrl+G these two circles, I think it would be play a little nicer because 01:25:011 (4,5) is a big jump already and then you have a 01:25:416 (6) looking something like an anti-jump, which doesn't fit so well in a kiai and I feel that in order to maintain momentum, swapping the position for these two would play better. Doing that would lose the structure of these jumps (with the normal spacing for 01:24:402 (1,2) - 01:25:213 (5,6) - ) and it is a lot more confusing to play because of that
  10. 02:04:943 (5) - I feel that a normal-hitwhistle here would fit nicely with the vocals due to the higher vocal pitch. You're missing the point of the normal-whistle pattern, which follows the violin kind of instrument on 02:02:511 (7,10,1) - for example, just like 00:43:051 (14,15,1) -
  11. 03:29:673 (2,3,4) - The gap between (2) and (3) and (3) and (4) are visably different. Since this part is still a slow section and there isn't any indication of the music speeding up, I feel maintaining the spacing gap under these sliders for better aesthetics and consistency. that follows the speedup, if you check, the spacing IS kept
  12. 03:32:511 (6,7,8) - This plays really awkward because going from (6) to (7) is a weird angle and as a result, makes (8) difficult as well. I know you're trying to make it look like 03:31:700 (4,5), but 03:32:511 (6,7,8) just doesn't play the same way. So maybe flipping it like this -> http://puu.sh/94TYS/7baf2de5d8.jpg would allow better flow into (8), or moving it up to allow circular flow, and then going straight down from (8) so the player can still hit 03:33:321 (9) without much difficulty. That plays absolutely horrible. The whole point of these 1/4 sliders is to consider them to be equivalent to hitcircles, not sliders. You won't be able to play this following sliders like you do with longer ones, so you're supposed to go in a straight line from the end of (6) to the head of (7) then to (8) without following the slider (7). This goes true for every pattern using this 1/4 slider+circle as obviously shown by 03:45:483 (6,7,8) - and after
  13. 03:41:835 (5) - Move this a little closer to the right to make a nice triangle with 03:41:024 (2,3) not sure what you mean here
  14. 03:53:592 (1) - Copy the slider from 03:53:186 (10) and hold Ctrl and then H + J to make a nicer looking slider to oval flow from. Copied (1) to change (10) instead, which does not fuck up the spacing

  2. 00:28:456 (74,75,76) - Not really much to say here but 2-colour triplets are normally kinda weird in a Muzu; this fits though so idk how to make this pattern any better, really; maybe if you take 75 and move it over to 00:29:065 - so that you can map more of the music or maybe you just want to keep it simple; go for kkk k (kinda weird-sounding but it's the best mono-colour alternative I could give ;;)

  1. 00:30:889 - to 00:43:862 - why do you follow the snare drum really inconsistently in this section? one minute you're following it then you're following it at seemingly random times; for example, perhaps you could try something like inverting 00:33:524 (10,11) - for snare drum emphasis (but if you do that then you should probably make 9 a don too) while also keeping a decent pitch relevancy
  2. 00:48:727 (11,12) - Again, invert these for snare drum emphasis; also the vocal is rather quiet here imo so maybe having a don where the vocal is would help give the snare drum that bit of emphasis
  3. 00:53:997 (16) - Make this into a kat; again it's about the pitch and snare drum emphasis here; nothing I can say for these three suggestions lel

  2. 01:09:808 (44) - Perhaps make this into a kat for some nice vocal emphasis here? It sounds like it should have a bit of emphasis compared to the rest of the notes imo
  3. 01:15:686 (64) - If you did 01:09:200 then do the same as this; take it back half a beat (to 01:15:483 - ) and this time make it a kat for more vocal emphasis; it's about the same pitch as the next note so maybe having this as a kat will help with the feeling of higher and more prolonged vocals

  2. 02:48:321 (29) - This might play slightly awkwardly but maybe have this be a big kat to emphasise the harsh cymbal here? it's really nice and juicy and gives a comparison of big kats + dons; there's barely any big kats in this map too so yeah maybe this would help balance things out. edit the pattern if you feel that a big kat wouldn't work too well here due to difficulty

  2. 03:45:484 (55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64) - imo this pattern is a bit too difficult for a Muzukashii; again crossing into the easy Oni border. I'd say to break the pattern at 63 (i.e. remove 63) so that it becomes more Muzu-like rather than easy Oni-like; like I said before

  2. 01:19:132 (81,82,83) - This really doesn't sound that nice to me as a triplet; I'd probably say get rid of 82; it just seems to follow everything a bit better especially the vocal because it's on the 1/2 at this point, not really the 1/4 ticks. Also if you want to be more consistent with 01:17:511 (73,74,75) - then make 83 a kat (assuming you got rid of 82; if you didn't then apply neither)

  1. 01:34:740 (28,29,30,31,32) - I suggest to change this pattern to k d ddk for a few reasons; k d sounds nicer imo; and not only does ddk sound more relevant with the pitch but the k at the end of "ddk" and the next k are emphasised a bit more because the downbeat note is a don (and the kats are slightly more emphasised in terms of the instrument playing + pitch), and the last reason is because the 2 kats I mention are the same pitch anyways so why not be consistent in that regard

  1. 01:51:159 (15,16) - Maybe invert these to give the kats more of a snare drum-exclusive feeling (15 being a kat just seems a bit weird to me by comparison with the other patterns) OR you could have the exact same pattern as before for consistency (d d k k d) which I think would be the better option seeing as how d k k k d sounds really odd but it's up to you I guess!
  2. 01:57:848 (40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47) - imo having d k d k d k d k is kinda boring; how about having a pattern like d k d k d d d k (which has been done to death, yes, but this gives variety) or maybe if you want something slightly less common and more fitting with the prolonged vocal try d k d k k k d k

00:40:213 (8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - good example (yes, I saw someone has mentioned it already). Music isn't changing, vocal isn't changing, it's not intense/crazy/screamy part, but DS is changing.
01:11:429 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - in this case random jumps are absolutely reasonable.

Believe me, the spacing is nowhere near random, especially compared to what's being done nowadays. There is a close relation between the song and the spacing, as well as structure inside of the map.

Although it plays well, the difficulty itself looks... primitive? I realized tjhat half of the play time there exists a transition between two consecutive patterns that makes them look like a single pattern with no clear division on "pattern A" and "pattern B", and half the time it doesn't exist and therefore they look like two different parts of the map. If anything, primitive ≠ simple (again, I can't deny it flows well).

I personally have no complaints except "fix your sliders on normal" (see above)

although there's still a slight gap b/w Normal and Hard, it is
  1. reasonable, as all Hard has is mostly 1/2 notes with rare 1/4 additions

    1. Normal is hard to improve without making it inconsistent
    2. Hard is difficult to ease without making it lose in quality/dynamic (esp. the jumpy parts)
standard set is good enough for me to approve of it. There are a few things I don't agree with, but they are about my personal tastes and can't be used as arguments against the map.

We added a tag Play because the name of the Album is Dark Passion Play. We also fixed some patterns in Normal and Hard.
Although I don't really like the spacing in the Hard difficulty at some parts, it is obviously a matter of taste. This mapset seems ready to go now.
