Well, I took a quick glance since you said that the mapping was eerily like mine. Eh, I .. guess it is? Anyway, a couple things I noticed on a quick playthrough:

[General]
Tick rate 2 fits this song best.

[Insane]
I liked this better at AR 8.5
00:05:389 (5,6) - This jump doesn't make much sense in the context of the previous patterns.
00:08:308 (5) - New combo should be here (if following every white tick).
00:08:633 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,2) - Things get really new combo spammy here too. I'm not a fan, and it really messes with HP Drain
00:26:470 - This is a drastic change in velocity. I'd recommend that you make it more gradual - maybe to .75 or so.
00:40:741 (1,2,3,4) - So you start small then go large on this pattern, but then you do the opposite at 00:45:930 (1,2,3,4) - even though musically it's exactly the same
00:57:119 (1,2) - I wasn't a fan of these 1/4 sliders. They don't really help the flow towards the new phrase since they are implying an upward/downward motion but the next object says otherwise.
00:57:443 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - I really don't like the way this flows. Maybe try something like this to make it feel more similar to 01:07:822 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) -
01:09:606 (2) - The way this is flowing, especially after the hexagon jump, I naturally want to progress to 4, 3, 5.
01:17:693 (2,3) - Increase the volume when you use the drum samples a bit around this part of the song. I can barely hear them.
01:31:469 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - I'm not sure what kind of pattern this is supposed to be, but it's pretty ugly the way it is now.

Thank you for taking a look. it was at least 3 other people who told me that the mapping here somewhat resembled your style, due to favoring circles over sliders I am assuming. this was not my observation :o

I tried really hard to understand what you are suggesting here, but I honestly dont see what you mean... these parts are nearly identical, except flipped horizontally. I am probably missing something super obvious....
01:09:606 (2) - The way this is flowing, especially after the hexagon jump, I naturally want to progress to 4, 3, 5. true. I changed the patterns here so it is circular flow going int he direction you pointed out..
01:17:693 (2,3) - Increase the volume when you use the drum samples a bit around this part of the song. I can barely hear them. Done.
01:31:469 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - I'm not sure what kind of pattern this is supposed to be, but it's pretty ugly the way it is now. it is just a random jump pattern that accomodates a constant distance snap. I cant think of any 7 note jump patterns that would go well here but i changed it into some star jump pattern nonsense.

00:40:741 (1,2,3,4) - It's the bassline you're hearing. It's a pretty subtle thing to map to, but it's fine.
00:57:768 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - Check the order of the numbers. It's different and flows a lot better to the pink 1 slider.

One thing I'll suggest. Use the unicode. I've found different romanizations for Yuru Yuri/YuruYuri/Yuruyuri so it honestly would be best to use "ゆるゆり♪♪" as the source.

Looking at the album located at: http://vgmdb.net/album/44955 & http://yuruyuri.com/2nd/music/bestalbum2.php

It's called "2nd series" or 2nd season, so this album is based on the second season of Yuru Yuri.

This also means you should remove "Happy Go Lily" or whatever you have in your tags as it isn't based on Season 1.

was working on a reply to ur pm request but then I saw you got a new bg already :P

however...

so I went through with the mod anyway.

used same 1080p image lanturn did and drew in the pinkeye w/ white, then applied a slight color smoothing filter to get rid of really minor compression artifacts. png does have some merit, though. if you look at the logo, you can see it is blurrier in jpg than png. also i losslessly compressed the png version so it's 1.1 mb, only ~330 kb larger than max quality jpg (795 kb). not that it's necessarily worth the extra data just for the logo, I'm just playing devil's advocate }:|

thank you again. yeah, after I PM'd you, Lanturn gave me another image through IRC which didn't have the eye problem. Which is the one that I uploaded.

I like the one you posted though, i can notice the removal of the compression artifacts from the image, it looks pretty clean now, so I will use yours. For some reason the .jpg isnt loading fully, even when i try to save, it only shows 10% of the upper part of the image. I might just end up using the .png

again, thank you very much, I feel bad since this is the third time I ask you for BG improvement help. I am no good with image editing at all.

Yeah, he sent me a forum PM 3 days ago saying he has been on vacation, and that he was going to try to mod the map that day since he was leaving again the enxt day, but I guess he couldn't get to it. so we just have to wait now. I am just happy knowing that a BAT will eventually take a serious look at the map.

also, i am super jealous of that akari nendoroid :(

  1. 00:14:957 (8,9) - What do you think about Ctrl+G? Feels nicer to crisscross the square imo.
  2. 00:23:876 (3) - After a second look there I thought you might enjoy the way this plays if you turn it 90 degrees. I like the flow line to change on the slider. Up to you, try it out.
  3. 00:58:741 (1) - It flows better at (181,86) tbh since it continues in the pattern from 00:58:092 (4,5,6,7). Maybe you can try it.
  4. 00:59:876 (1,2) - Switch NC's? Like 01:10:092 (4,5).
  5. 01:11:714 (1) - Ctrl+G? So fun. ww

    I think it might be nicer to play for the Hard diff since the melody streaming doesn't start until 01:20:284 and it makes it so all the repeating sliders have the same number of repeats.

  1. 01:06:524 (5) - Seems like it would be better to have something hitting on the downbeat 01:06:687 since it's such an important beat, if it falls in the middle of the slider like this it can feel weak. Maybe you'd like to hit for the vocals at 01:06:524 but honestly the pattern can play better if you skip over that hit. Maybe try a more simple rhythm like this:

    This will have the weak beat 01:06:524 be in the middle of the slider instead of the strong downbeat.
    Maybe if you don't like that you can try:

  1. 01:20:123 (2,3,4) - Didn't mention this before, but repeating sliders beginning in 1/2 (red tick) can be confusing to play. Here you can try this rhythm instead:

    I think it might be nicer to play for the Hard diff since the melody streaming doesn't start until 01:20:284 and it makes it so all the repeating sliders have the same number of repeats.

  1. 01:06:524 (5) - Seems like it would be better to have something hitting on the downbeat 01:06:687 since it's such an important beat, if it falls in the middle of the slider like this it can feel weak. Maybe you'd like to hit for the vocals at 01:06:524 but honestly the pattern can play better if you skip over that hit. Maybe try a more simple rhythm like this:

    This will have the weak beat 01:06:524 be in the middle of the slider instead of the strong downbeat.
    Maybe if you don't like that you can try:

  1. 01:20:284 (2,3,4) - I don't think you should do that. The way you did it is really difficult to read for a Hard diff since there is a large 1/4 jump between each slider, and it's not at all natural to click in 1/4(blue tick) at 01:20:526. Plays much more natural to have two 1/4 sliders with two repeats each, that way the player just clicks in 1/1(white ticks) and it's intuitive to play.
