i'd wish peppy would drop by and post something regarding this thread. Or whoever it is that is working on this. I am sure they could gain good feedback by making the creation process bit more public. Even to the staff only if they want.

If anyone who is working on this is reading, I suggest looking at how clans work in SC2. They have a pretty good system you should somewhat emulate. :)

Clans sounds nice for osu!. Clan rank can be counted by the total pp of all its members.
It might be nice to have clan battles in osu!. For example by changing the scores of the players gain during the battle into something like pp.

While clans might make osu! more fun, it's better to wait until peppy and team gets most bugs fixed.

Well, they can work it out but then I think the max members should be atleast 6 so that The top 6 clans of their country will pick their top 1 Player to form their most powerful Country Clan. :)

i think the maths term is mean? pretty much the average pp value would work best. unless i misread something?

I specifically said that I'm not talking about the average. An average would make it so that people would try actively to not get low ranking players into their clan. The "weighted sum" (or whatever it is I'm talking about) would make it so that low ranking players wouldn't have a significant effect on the rank of the clan if higher ranked players are already members, but they wouldn't pull the rank down. Thus, there's no reason not to have them in your clan.

maybe we can just say it "group" consist of around 15 peoples max. with no rank system. i think that's more reasonable for a rhythm game type.
plus that's more simple and easier for the dev to implemented it.

As for groups/clans/whatever we call them. Ranking should be average pp or total pp imo. Having ranks on clans would make osu even more fun :) the ranks should be for every game mode ofc!

that's just my opinion though, everybody have different opinion but at the end everything are decided by the dev. Just hoping they've a quite good plan on this.

I understand that ranking ain't everything, but It adds a nice overview of what clans would be good in future tournaments for an example!

Clan ranks should be calculated by using weighted sum of all its members' pp. As for Shivarion's statement, without ranks clans are boring imo. Also, the min. number of members might be 16, since 16v16 multiplayer is available now.
If there are clan battles, we need 2 ranks, Weighted Sum Clan pp Rank and Clan Battle Rank.

Then again, let's leave it to the devs' decision. :)

thats a good idea. although the rank discrimination a lot of players will face to get into a clan will be annoying.

You should win in clan wars to get clan PP obviously. And the amount of PP given will be determined by the rank difference.
For example if some clan which rank is #250 wins some other #100, the first one will be given *i have no idea how much* PP. But if #100 wins #250 , the winner will receive much less .. . Something like that. Such system will prevent farming for top clans and greatly reward others for beating top clans :D

if clan wars will be possible though you'll definitely want to stack as many heavy hitters as possible if you want to be a top clan.

I want to see more people in multiplayer already
and this give people a reason to get better at osu!
defeating other clans thats why i dont see any good challenges
in multiplayer every room i see is like easy-normal and when i find an
insane room no one plays well... except like those one or two high ranking people

with this edition to the game i think a tutorial for the osu! interface considering that

I prefer separated rank system rather than cumulative (which mean the same rank system like player already have) so the clan will have 4 different rank based on 4 mode.
and also it would be nice if there's minimum require level to create a clan. Just to prevent clan spamming.

Although i hope that there are some restricions to this feature so that there won't just be spamming new clans everywhere...
And if possible keep it so that theres no ingame benefit (individual rank wise)
I can see that something like a ranking system for clans to be intruiging but something like exclusive something for a specific clan might be too much, unless it is something private actually meant for that clan specifically not a open thing hogged by a big clan
Osu is still a public game where everyone can play to get high ranked without any exceptions, even supporters are equal in terms of literally just playing the game (well there are some benefits that don't affect gameplay)

Just saw the idea of the Multiplayer Team vs. Team, and it somehow convinced me (of course, the topic itself sounds very interesting).

For now, I'll sit down and see how things turn out.

What would be great would be to limit the members of a clan based on their nationality to avoid there are clans as "rrtyui x GGBY x Andrea x Sherry" if you know what i mean 8-)


And if possible, a ranking based on the maps played on the MONTH and not on lifetime players.

Or do clan battles with random maps based on the average level of the players.

So many possibilities, it would be great to have this before 2015 ... :)

Guilds would be a great idea, i feel like guilds make any game fun because it creates communities within communities and makes the group smaller because of easy to identify clicks. Attack on titan tribute game had no need for guilds but implemented it anyway and the community flourished because of it.

Under two months left on the year.

Peppy promised this would be implemented by the end of the year. So, this is either coming soon, or we can discard what he said in France a few months back.

This will be coming on 2015 according to peppy (I asked him in game). He said he's already made some progress on it. I believe this will come out at the same time or after the new website is done.
I'm just saying, we might have to wait another 6 months or so.
