Not necessarily talking to you in particular, but it annoys me to no end when people claim an anime is bad because the characters are unlikeable. Since when do the characters have to be"likeable" for the anime to convey a message that otherwise is unique and profound?Ideolo wrote:

I see this in a lot of people that dislike Evangelion because Shinji is a bitch. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT, IT'S FOR CHARACTERIZATION AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE THEMES IN THE ANIME!!! If shinji was a generic male protag and asuka was a typical tsundere and rei was a typical shy quiet girl and gendou was a generic anime dad, evangelion would have been a mediocre, generic anime.

With that being said, yeah I think school days is a bit too slow paced at first, and also exaggerated. However, it does have a unique reflection of some aspects of society today and breaks free from the typical harem anime. It's far from being the worst anime of all time in my opinion.

The thing with School Days is that the context in which it is initially presented is, even tonally, a hormonal escapist fantasy. The only person consistently shown to be in the "right", in terms of framing, is Makoto. The reactions of the other characters are catty and irresponsible, as well, but they're vilified while Makoto never gets his just desserts until the very end of the show. It's purely because of the source material that the show strays away from typical harem formula. However, the lack of legitimate real world consequences (replacing them with soap opera antics) in addition to killing characters off instead of offering any commentary on the actions or character type make this show woefully empty and all the more aggravating to watch.mathexpert9981 wrote:

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but seriously, it's unpleasant in a way that does not illicit any sort of intellectual discourse, but in a way that just infuriates most viewers. The truly despicable nature of the characters, for the most part, without any sort of actual real-world context (which is what a good deconstruction is supposed to do: take genre conventions and apply actual real world logic/emotions to them), makes it truly hard to sit through. While the last episode has quite the cathartic moment (due to spending all season hating all three of the main characters), it's still not one of my favourite things that I've sat through.
To get back on topic, though: Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou (Dog & Scissors) has officially entered this list. Wow, what garbage.
Higurashi no naku koro ni is by far the worst I've ever seen. I don't think anything can compare to it.

For me, Origin: Spirits of the past is one of the worst anime movies I have seen.
Naruto i think, i like it at first, but then.. the storyline is so boring now.

Good God it is bad. The animation is bland, the characters are uninteresting, the battles aren't exiting, the opening song sounds awful, and its ending is just completely WTF. I didn't think it was possible for a show to fail at fanservice (A fanservice show at that), but somehow Master of Martial Hearts managed to screw even that up, leaving almost nothing redeemable about it whatsoever.

The first one is just... too much boobs kill the boobs and after only 3 episodes I couldn't keep watching the anime.
The seconde wasn't that bad, at the start. I think that they could have done something very nice with the card but the fight weren't that good tho.

the main storyline didn't catch me cause I think playing cards is rather boring. The love story beside was nice, but after all too much of that card game.

Mirai Nikki (it made me feel anxious with Yuno's Personality, the lack of real development of the characters... and inconsistency)
Lucky Star (made me fall asleep something like thrice in a chapter)
Blood-C (I just don't understand why they made that ramake)
Junjou Romantica/Sekaiichi no Hatsukoi (Those series are the same thing with different names.... and too cliché)
Vampire Knight (I tried for the bishies. I failed for the boring story)
Jubei-chan (This... this was something I'd regret for the rest of my life)

Ok, for me the worst anime are every otome game adapatation. (Brother's Conflict, etc.)

Another was boring as fuck, i don't get why people liked it so much.
Although there are quite a few anime I absolutely couldn't stand watching for various reasons (Black Rock Shooter, etc...), there is only one anime so objectively bad that it's hilarious and almost fun to watch. Namely, Mars of Destruction.
Anyone who can spare the 19 minutes necessary to enrich their soul with this masterpiece will probably regret it - though in another way, they won't. :>

Didn't find it interesting at all, I didn't connect with any of the characters, there was no interesting plot at all. I understand this is a controversial opinion as it is generally regarded as a well made anime, but this is how I felt about it.

Because intentionally you're watching the anime for incest, but their relationship only sparked at the last 3 episodes, and the last episode made the whole anime pointless. It makes up for its "comedy" scenes, but even saying that the comedy is as dull as dishwater. Oreimo is a bad title because it tries consistently to play coy with its premise like "OH THERE'S NO SUBTEXT HERE AT ALL~" while being entirely insular with its comedy and attempting to drum up a sense of otaku pride comedy before going down the route of poorly-written romance plotlines resulting in a bad end for all. I enjoy how they ended up not working out in the end but yeesh, the road to getting there is paved with bad writing and otaku-baiting.
