You could afford it if you didn't make the same staff in charge of all of them with the same expectations of streams etc. Every iteration that ppv2 has went through has been worse than what is in place now so I wouldn't have high hopes. And if you'd like to allow reservations for countries that made it to the single elimination bracket, why was China not reserve, but replace a slot after all of them were taken? Also curious as to why would you change the roster deadline to a week earlier just because the slots filled up fast, unless you plan on moving the rest of the event earlier there is no reason to move this deadline earlier on short notice.Loctav wrote:
A long lasting qualification metric can work, but I doubt that we can afford it. Especially considering that the other world cups are existent, too, the work load is immense and tbh I want to have some free-time and don't manage world cups the entire year (this goes even more for my fellow organizers and helping hands)
Please keep in mind that everything that involves manual organized matches are not working, since they can not be organized.
A map chart that has certain maps in it and not single players but countries could high rank on it could also work, but this requires a better metric than current pp. I want to wait for ppv2 before excluding the usage of ranking metrics.
Anyways reserving slots based on population seems weird to me. I think reserving slots by progress in previous owc works nicely, especially because winning group stage already rewards people even if they don't come far in the knock outs
Roster deadline and his eye problems probably.Pizzicato wrote:

I am probably pointing out the obvious, but the tournament season was announced two months ago, though no exact date was declared.ErunamoJAZZ wrote:
What yes it is most important is that it gives early warning before the registration dates. So big countries may make the choice of their best players, and not what we saw happen: Many countries waited until the weekend to send the registration, because of their internal competitions.
osu! World Cup #4The teams had a rough idea as to when they would happen. So each individual country had plenty of time to determine who were represent them.
Registration Phase: Mid - End of October 2013
Group Stage and Robin Round Stages: November 2013
Finals: Begin of December 2013

Uh, does this mean that China registered before Vietnam, or that both teams registered "after deadline"Toroguythingymajig wrote:
Vietnam's slot has been replaced by China, because according to Loctav, we were a bit late in registering. Oh well, good luck to China!
You are right. However, I refer to a public announcement a week earlier. Generally nobody is going to move until there is a public announcement, and a date.me3lingual wrote:

Do you actually have to send in the form a second time for a roster update, or does the pm suffice?
Because the changes haven't been applied yet, or is it just because the tournament staff is busy?
It's called asking for help, everything doesn't have to be done by one or three people or how many there is working on the well-being of the tournament. It won't ensure the effectiveness of things, it will just make them more complicated. If the staff only considered this, it'd be wonderful.AmaiHachimitsu wrote:

I am actually thinking about reserving a slot for all countries that made it into the knock-out stage of the previous OWC. Means that everyone that ascends to knock-out stage has a reserved slot for the next years OWC.
Rest is first come firdt serve or maybe another metric (depending on ppv2)
Drop your opinions please
So that mean Venezuela WILL be playing with it full team or not? You haven't clear it yet and everyone in my team is worried :ILoctav wrote:

well with cookiezi retired i wonder who would win this world cup. ready the popcorn!Of course it's a common knowledge that Korea team does not exist without Cookiezi. I bet that Germany will win since they have CookEasy which is the most similar to Cookiezi.

Also removed Niko from the spreadsheet. He asked me to do it because he won't play any owc matches.
I did this from my mobile, somehow broke something and can't fix it. I'll fix it in a few hours.
It is country not privileged we all share same value, i not play for winning score/rank but play for fun but would like to participate with other country around world is experience, not many bahrain play such game but when do treated like this is not feel god.Loctav wrote:

You all know that talking about ToS violation is prohibited in public.
So don't do it again. I really don't feel like dropping silences now, so feel warned for the next time
(if you disagree with the management, you are free to quit. But do it silently, because I actually don't give a poop about what you think is fair or not - especially in this regard)
FYI: I rejected obvious troll submissions, based on the registered people. When a roster contained one banned account and more than 2 players without a single play count on osu! Standard or the ones that could not even pass a single Normal diff with better than a C, I ignored the registration.
The rules clearly state that all registrations get checked. Not only based on your account standing.
This tournament is a service hosted by me. I try to be fair and neutral. If you feel unfairly treated, it's kinda unclever to attack me and my management in public, since you will not help yourself.
If you don't want to play on the OWC, just don't show up. Some free wins for your group. But don't say that you would be better than all of the rest if you didn't even try.
Majority of the player base arranged with exchanging players that didn't pass our checks. If you fail to agree that we do that, ignore this tournament. You have no rights to participate here, it's a privilege. Sorry to sound so arrogant, but you always forget that it is not as a matter of course to have an OWC and to have you and your wishes in.
Tl;dr: if you don't like this OWC and how it is made, just leave. But don't get on my and everyone's else nerves. Thank you.
it is not skill, it is only picture game , you have blind for not let human play it equal valueLoctav wrote:
You are free to try again participating on OWC next year, if you don't sign up with banned users and users who did not even played this game on the level the OWC is for. I am not interested in what country you are, but I simply took a look on your roster and considered as unfair to you and the rest of the player base you let you into a world championship, if you did not even fulfill the basic skill requirements for it.
As soon as you and your team reached a competitive skill level fitting for the OWC, feel free to try again later.
This doesn't make sense in some point, because if it was like that they would accept strong teams like Japan or Korea only. The only owc purpose is to have fun only imo, even if we know that probably the champion will be the same as last years, and many teams have a big advantage against many others, that doesn't mean it will be a good tournament too and that everyone can have fun.Soarezi wrote:
Do they let bad players join Ice hockey world cups, football world cups etc?
Do they let bad players join LoL world championship?
No.
Why would people want to see bad players against insanely good players?
There's a clear reason you guys are not accepted. This rule applies to every single tournament there is in the world, unless it's specially meant for (bad) players.
