Go to Advanced settings as in my guide above, but click Winetricks in it. Both CJK and All Fonts packages may help you. The ー symbol, as in コーヒー will still be displayed as a square. Only that one symbol.GolemdX wrote:

I did that, now it just doesn't launch at all. I doubt it's related though, the error is "Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded." thanks for help with the fonts!el_leopardo wrote:

EDIT: works great! it wasn't launching because it was in a subdirectory of my Applications folder. kind of odd, but whatever.
Is it normal that there is no more score screen after finishing a map? If so, I find it quite annoying -.-

After downloading OSU and dragging it onto Application, when i open it and the updating process is complete, it keeps showing a small menu saying there's an error and gives me to options which are to restart now and quit osu, and restarting doesnt fix the problem, just keeps leading back to the same small menu

Here Japanese fonts are at their finest. No empty boxes or whatsoever.

im on a mac and my osu was working fine a few days ago. I then made a made a map and my osu constanltly kept quitting on its own. i;d try to load a map and it wouldnt load. now it wont even open and goes right to the little error page. Ive tried doing everything with wineskin and re downloading. its not working and apearently not for other people either.
im really fustrated. Ive been playing osu for a week maybe tops, and i even donated money and Its not even working on my mac... this is really really fustrating. everything keeps failing and now it wont even open ((((((

I've had Osu on a Windows PC for a few years (I played on and off for about a year before making this account), so i'm well experienced with skins, beatmaps, etc, so I already have skins, so on my Mac I manually placed them in the skins folder and on Osu when I tried to change my skin Osu crashed. Might wanna fix that :3
Also I would LOVE it if Taiko mode were up soon, I have a PC desktop and a Macbook and i'm on my laptop (macbook) alot at home, and would love to play taiko on it, but hey i'm no game developer so I don't know anything about this stuff X3

Same with mine. Worked on my mom's iMac and I could play. But on my Mac Pro it simply doesn't. Could it be the 10.8.3 update to OSX? Because I noticed in compatibility it said 10.8.2.

It is 10.8.3 that breaks it. I ran it on our iMac when it had 10.8.2. Worked fine, slightly laggy, but worked. Now the iMac has 10.8.3, and the game will not load just as mine doesn't.
Work in 10.8.3 but the mouse is all funny. IE it teleports sort of randomly during the game, quite annoying lol.
I tried using the InfinityRaw engine from The Porting Team to fix the performance issues and it went from 30 to roughly 160fps.
But still the mouse issue, I have no idea where it comes from tho :-\

ok so the beta has been pretty buggy for awhile on my macbook and now its not even working anymore all together. whenever i try to start it up an error occurs and it either gives me the option to restart osu or exit. it wont even restart and the same screen comes up again. im pretty mad about this since its my favorite game on pc and now i dont have anything to pass time to. has this happened to anyone else? i wanna play osu again! r
I can get the songs on osu but I can't play them is there a fix for this or no?
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but when I open Osu, the game immediately tries to update which it then fails to do every time so the game crashes. When I open osu after disconnecting the computer to the internet. it works!!!! It doesn't try updating so it runs perfectly for me!

I am able to access all parts of the game until attempting to play a song. I keep getting the error "Beatmap could not be loaded successfully." I am able to load Beatmaps to osu! but this message pops up and i cannot play the songs. (OS X v. 10.6.8)

I have uploaded a new build of the os x release at the same location as the last one. Unfortunately as this is a wrapper update, the update process isn't automatic, so you will need to copy your osu! data across to the new one. It shouldn't matter if you replace the whole osu! folder included in the new distribution.

Hey, whenever I move my cursor to the edges of the screen, they jump to the other side.
Is this supposed to happen?
If it is, then it works fine at x1 mouse sensitivity. However, if I increase the sensitivity, the mouse gets stuck switching between the two edges of the screen every time I go near a side. On the other hand, if I lower the sensitivity, the jump puts the cursor quite a bit away from the edge.
Also, is there a way to create new beatmaps in the iOS version. It doesn't allow the dragging of files into the window. Is there an alternate way to add mp3 files?

It works fine, but when i go to play a song, the health will load, but about halfway it stops, and the song doesn't load. Any Help????

Pretty solid outside of that, although I'm worried about my framerate which is really low compared to osu! on my Windows 7 partition. (~100fps as opposed to 1000+).
The text is pretty screwed up also, I think this is a recurring problem, it cuts out and doesn't display all the way.
Also uploading the screenshot made osu! freak out, the window completely disappeared and I had to kill it using cmd-Q.

Osu tries and fails to update for me now. It runs the update and then starts the program, but it goes back to updating and the cycle continues.

Good job with porting a game for windows to Mac though. I haven't read trough all the comments on this post but I know it's not exactly easy to port from one OS to the other so if it plays any songs, I call that a success ^.^

When booting osu! in full screen today, controlling the cursor was impossible, it kept fidgeting around a lot until I eventually switched to windowed which fixed it.

it's kinda weird but I can't play osu! mania and catch the beat o.o I can't see the anything but the vid o.O
getting better but thre is still the sensitivity problem and it also freezes alot other than that the game is working fine for now
I can't play osu!mania most of the time because the area where the keys (df jk) is covered with a black rectangle. And the keys dont show up if I press them or anything like that. My osu! is completely updated etc. Please fix. thanks

I can't upload my beatmap using the BSS since the "Upload Beatmap..." option is located in the 'File' header of the menu bar, and the Osu! application running on X11 only has the 4 osu!, Edit, Window, and Help headers, I cannot access it. Is there a way to make the File header show, or maybe another way to submit beatmaps?

Adding beatmaps to my 'Songs' folder (or dragging the .osz file to the Osu! icon) doesn't update immediatly. This is a problem when I'm trying to play with friends and I'm not the one hosting the match (I would have to restart my game every time a new beatmap comes on I don't already have). Any solutions to this?

You'll have to press "alt+F5" to get it to do the refresh action because I think F5 on a Mac will hide/move windows out of the view.Feed_Me1 wrote:

Just to be sure, windowed mode is not possible yet? Same with dual monitors? Peppy made a thread 6 years ago about possibly adding dual monitor functionality, but I haven't found any proof of it working during recent times.

I downloaded an unranked beatmap and installed it. However, the message "Unable to importe beatmap [beatmap name] blablabla" appear in the bottom right corner. I figured out that the mp3 was just missing, so I wanted to fix this.
I can open the .osu file containing the difficulty without problems (separated download), but I can't do anything to the .osz file. Yes, I've searched for similar issues; yes, I've looked inside the failed folder to see my trashed beatmap; no, there isn't any debug-report.txt in the osu folder.
EDIT : Also, when loading a beatmap, there's a chance it will crash halfway the loading. Nothing will show up, the only option is to use Ctrl+Q.

This makes playing with the flashlight mod almost trivial, artificially boosting scores.

I've experienced this before too but in the earlier versions. Sometimes when I would load FL mod, it would dim the screen without adding the small circle of light to see through. So basically, it's like not having FL on at all. The only function that would continue to work would be holding sliders (which with FL, causes the screen to dim even more).Creyslz wrote:

I messed around with the flashlight mod some more. I ended up finding a map where it did create the flashlight effect, but it also dimmed the screen, making it surprisingly difficult to play as I easily lost track of the osu button things. However, on other maps, it still only dimmed the screen.

EDIT: After few minutes, the problem come again. I have uninstall osu but I can't install it again. I have the message : "Impossible to run the version of osu! with this version of Mac OS X."
Where can I find an old version of Osu! for Mac? I'm in 10.5.8.
EDIT: I've find it here : http://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Installation#OS_X_.28Apple.29 But it doesn't work.
