I changed the circle skin in the mac version and it doesnt play now, I have re downloaded but now i have to re dl my songs :(

Yes you just need to drag them into the game but you need to restart it for them to work

Is anyone else having trouble getting the background to appear for some songs? I'm having that issue as well as problems loading skins.

I did not have a wine prefix i did have a song folder in an osu folder that was listed below the contents folder when i put the beatmaps there it shows up on the song list but it does not play

Yeah, the storyboarding for the tutor, OR ANY OTHER SONG WITH VIDEO OF STORYBOARDING doesn't work.

First, Thank you for this mac version.
I have a problem
When i launch the game, it works perfectly, then i play 2 or 3 songs, and the game freeze, and i have to quit it, and that's really annoying. Now i have the new mac version of osu, and it still happen. This began to happen 2 days ago.
Can someone help me ?

I play this on my 15in macbook pro and it works great sometimes, however the recent update/patches have made it to where it likes to freeze VERY often.. im not sure what happened but i have to open the force quit the app and start it over again. it still plays and runs fine, but the freezing is ridiculous :(

I have the same problem and after i force quit to get out i end up breaking the game and need to download and reinstall it again

So I completely deleted everything on osu and removed the replays and song so i can just insert them all back in instead of re-downloading them,I uninstalled osu because it was having problems and then I am trying to re-download it through this,thank you so freakn much it worked perfectly now osu is back to it's normal self! Well I'd say the only difference is that jumps seem to be easier.

If anyone else is or experiencing accuracy problems i would suggest changing the universal offset to 5ms, maybe 7

It bug out 2/3 of the time on my mac, why? And most of the time it just quit itself before it even open completely! Is there any way that I may fix this or this is one of the bug?

I have a huge offset problem, I set it to max (i.e 300 ms) and it's still not enough, there's like a full second, what can I do? :(

I'm having some major trouble tweaking the mouse sensitivity. Whenever i try to change it the mouse intends to get stuck on the notes, and when i click the mouse flies all over the screen.
Some tips on how to fix this?

Cette beta d'OSU pour mac par Wineskin est vraiment beuggé
Pour ne pas installer un VRAI installateur de programme pour mac et utiliser un émulateur Windows?

les beug détecté sont:
-au niveau du FPS, lorsque je joue sur certaine MAP, ça beug et ram alors que mon PC à 8Go de RAM
-la vitesse du curseur est toujours la même malgré que j'essaie de le changer dans les paramères
-Quand je suis en mode Plein écran, beug pour revenir en mode normal
-Open GL impossible à activer
-120 FPS ou 60 mais pas Illimité :s

actuellement je joue avec les capacité minimal :s malgré que mon mac possède "8 Go de RAM + Intel Core i7" :s
Tous les effets sur "OFF"

I just had to run WineSkin and click "Update Wrapper"

osu! for OS X worked for me before, when it was just an .app file, now I tried the .dmg installer, and first time I did run it (or second, I don't remember) it showed me an error with buttons "Send" "Dont send" or something like this. I tried opening it again and again but it just didn't open anything, and icon disappears from dock every time I open it. I tried opening the old .app files, but it doesn't work too, acts the same. Maybe it could be conflicting with PlayOnMac program installed (that uses Wine) or WineBottler that I installed to run Windows applications. I tried removing, redownloading .dmg file and replacing osu .app file, I tried removing WineBottler and PlayOnMac but still the same affect. I get this in Console program (No idea if this info helps or not):

I actually redownloaded the most recent version, and I was totally excited for it, but when a little message box that says "osu is updating" appears, it just shuts down on its own. Any idea what's causing this?

I can deal with all the bugs but what REALLY pisses me off is the input lag.
My Windows computer died and I have to resort to a macbook pro with 4gb ram and a 2.4GHZ core duo, which is good enough for this.
I have more than 200 hours online and offline on this game, but osu and taiko are completely unplayable with this. I messed for 3 hours trying different universal offsets and yet i still haven't found the right settings to make the gameplay feel natural. quickly looking around this thread I see more people have this problem and different settings worked for them but I cannot find the right one.

This needs to be fixed, it can't be that hard..

quick update on my post right above:

I found out that with a -196 universal offset and sound effects turned off works for me. If I play with the sound effects on they are delayed and completely confuse gameplay.
Still experiencing slight mouse input lag though.

after the last update i can't connect with my account, it gives me the "can't connect to bancho server ecc.." also the profile buttons for the login seems to be unclickable..

The skin preview is still somewhat buggy in the Windows version, too - I wouldn't get my hopes up for an OS X fix soon.

I saw no problems except the Timing Setup Panel won't open and I don't know how to submit beatmaps.

Everything is fine (except Adding Timing Sections and the TSP won't work but I'll be fine without it)

After I had just downloaded the .dmg file and try to open it, a screen pops up saying that it can't be opened because it was not read. Can anyone help me with this?

So I didn't know that skins weren't working in this OS X beta release so I changed my skin and now I can't even access the game. Every time I start up osu!, it fails to open and I get an error window.

On June, July and August, osu! was working perfectly ! And after the mac update, osu! keep bugging and everything.

Around 2 weeks ago (with the new update), my osu started to freeze when you select a song (after around.. 20 minutes or so of gameplay). Normally this wouldn't be a huge deal for me, but after every freeze I am unable to re-open it for over 15 minutes because osu! is still running, and force quitting it does not help.

I use Version 10.7.5.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

With the newest update, all my spinners disappeared, and my score screen was a little unaligned. o.o

However, when I went to mess around with the settings, I clicked on fullscreen, and then osu immediately crashed. From then, I couldn't start osu again since all that popped up when I clicked to open osu was an error screen, and trying to restart osu ended up with the same error screen.

Here's the error code if it helps with anything

Unfortunately, with the new update, I can't seem to load any of my beatmaps. Guess I'll have to lay off the game for a while now. :(

Go to Advanced settings as in my guide above, but click Winetricks in it. Both CJK and All Fonts packages may help you. The ー symbol, as in コーヒー will still be displayed as a square. Only that one symbol.

If any further help needed, depressivethinking (at mark) gmail

I did that, now it just doesn't launch at all. I doubt it's related though, the error is "Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded." thanks for help with the fonts!

EDIT: works great! it wasn't launching because it was in a subdirectory of my Applications folder. kind of odd, but whatever.

After downloading OSU and dragging it onto Application, when i open it and the updating process is complete, it keeps showing a small menu saying there's an error and gives me to options which are to restart now and quit osu, and restarting doesnt fix the problem, just keeps leading back to the same small menu

im on a mac and my osu was working fine a few days ago. I then made a made a map and my osu constanltly kept quitting on its own. i;d try to load a map and it wouldnt load. now it wont even open and goes right to the little error page. Ive tried doing everything with wineskin and re downloading. its not working and apearently not for other people either.

im really fustrated. Ive been playing osu for a week maybe tops, and i even donated money and Its not even working on my mac... this is really really fustrating. everything keeps failing and now it wont even open :(((((((

I've had Osu on a Windows PC for a few years (I played on and off for about a year before making this account), so i'm well experienced with skins, beatmaps, etc, so I already have skins, so on my Mac I manually placed them in the skins folder and on Osu when I tried to change my skin Osu crashed. Might wanna fix that :3

Also I would LOVE it if Taiko mode were up soon, I have a PC desktop and a Macbook and i'm on my laptop (macbook) alot at home, and would love to play taiko on it, but hey i'm no game developer so I don't know anything about this stuff X3

Same with mine. Worked on my mom's iMac and I could play. But on my Mac Pro it simply doesn't. Could it be the 10.8.3 update to OSX? Because I noticed in compatibility it said 10.8.2.

It is 10.8.3 that breaks it. I ran it on our iMac when it had 10.8.2. Worked fine, slightly laggy, but worked. Now the iMac has 10.8.3, and the game will not load just as mine doesn't.

Work in 10.8.3 but the mouse is all funny. IE it teleports sort of randomly during the game, quite annoying lol.

I tried using the InfinityRaw engine from The Porting Team to fix the performance issues and it went from 30 to roughly 160fps.
But still the mouse issue, I have no idea where it comes from tho :-\

That's a meaningless stuff.

OSU was created on .NET, this is only a virtual environment & .NET & OSU

So, there is no need to download and test it.

ok so the beta has been pretty buggy for awhile on my macbook and now its not even working anymore all together. whenever i try to start it up an error occurs and it either gives me the option to restart osu or exit. it wont even restart and the same screen comes up again. im pretty mad about this since its my favorite game on pc and now i dont have anything to pass time to. has this happened to anyone else? i wanna play osu again! r :cry:

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but when I open Osu, the game immediately tries to update which it then fails to do every time so the game crashes. When I open osu after disconnecting the computer to the internet. it works!!!! It doesn't try updating so it runs perfectly for me!

I am able to access all parts of the game until attempting to play a song. I keep getting the error "Beatmap could not be loaded successfully." I am able to load Beatmaps to osu! but this message pops up and i cannot play the songs. (OS X v. 10.6.8)

I have seen this in the forum as a question, however, I have not seen any solutions. Am I missing something?

I have uploaded a new build of the os x release at the same location as the last one. Unfortunately as this is a wrapper update, the update process isn't automatic, so you will need to copy your osu! data across to the new one. It shouldn't matter if you replace the whole osu! folder included in the new distribution.

Hey, whenever I move my cursor to the edges of the screen, they jump to the other side.
Is this supposed to happen?
If it is, then it works fine at x1 mouse sensitivity. However, if I increase the sensitivity, the mouse gets stuck switching between the two edges of the screen every time I go near a side. On the other hand, if I lower the sensitivity, the jump puts the cursor quite a bit away from the edge.

Also, is there a way to create new beatmaps in the iOS version. It doesn't allow the dragging of files into the window. Is there an alternate way to add mp3 files?

It works fine, but when i go to play a song, the health will load, but about halfway it stops, and the song doesn't load. Any Help????

Is it just me or did something odd happen to the fonts?
Also, I a getting weird movements in CtB. The character doesn't move fluently but sort of stutters.

Osu freezes quite frequently in 1.8.3
I also cannot change the resolution to fullscreen, it just exits.

Game often crashes when switching from and to fullscreen/windowed. Also crashed when switching from DirectX to OpenGL and didn't save.

Pretty solid outside of that, although I'm worried about my framerate which is really low compared to osu! on my Windows 7 partition. (~100fps as opposed to 1000+).
The text is pretty screwed up also, I think this is a recurring problem, it cuts out and doesn't display all the way.

Osu tries and fails to update for me now. It runs the update and then starts the program, but it goes back to updating and the cycle continues.

But yeah, I love the game but I can't play it until you make a Linux version as my Windows partition is exactly how big it needs to be for Windows 7 + Photoshop, and I refuse to go through the trouble of re-installing Linux on a smaller partition size in order to add Osu... or anything else for that matter :P. Good job with porting a game for windows to Mac though. I haven't read trough all the comments on this post but I know it's not exactly easy to port from one OS to the other so if it plays any songs, I call that a success ^.^

When booting osu! in full screen today, controlling the cursor was impossible, it kept fidgeting around a lot until I eventually switched to windowed which fixed it.

Yeah, I don't know the technological details but I think Macs or the Wineskin Wrapper don't do OpenGL thus why it don't save.

I can't play osu!mania most of the time because the area where the keys (df jk) is covered with a black rectangle. And the keys dont show up if I press them or anything like that. My osu! is completely updated etc. Please fix. thanks
