General "sliders broken by latest build" Thread [confirmed] [resolved]

Explain the issue you are having:
Whenever I try to adjust the length of the slider, it disappears. :o (1st set of Screenshots)
Also when I try to clone/copypaste a slider, it goes straight to heaven. :o (2nd set of Screenshots)

I'm not sure if it's me, or osu! lol.
I also don't know if someone already reported this. Well I did this just to make sure. :D


1. Adjust slider length, slider disappears
2. Clone a slider, it doesn't look like a clone.

i think i've missed a update since sliders are working fine for me x.x
none the less, people do seem to be having issues with this, so i'll mark as confirmed and hope that this can be looking into

Don't forget the bug where you place a control point over the first one and it skews off horribly.

EDIT: moving control points of existing sliders makes them disappear, leave the control points only visible, and become immovable.

Wow, literally no slider can be edited at all, not even freshly created ones.

Confirmed so hard, hope this gets fixed ASAP

New bug type, in this image, you can see that New Combo isn't enabled, but osu still counts it as a new combo D:

EDIT: Seems like you can still move the slider in the timeline and in the grid, something is something :?

This is unrelated and is intended behavior. Breaks always add a new combo after they end, regardless of if the object has a proper new combo or not.

still can edit the 3 point sliders, can't edit the 2 point that the slider disappear, if i wanno da a perfect blanket i can't , i don't think somebody can do it in a first try...

Copy pasting sliders is still bugged, you can resize them by moving the anchors now though

partly fixed, but some not I suppose.
slider tick can be moved, so we can edit a slider freely but copy & paste doesn't seem better.

Adding a waypoint to your slider also adds an endpoint at (0,0).

Deleting the new endpoint should be a temporary workaround.

Changing the slider tick = deleting all sliders.
So don't change slider tick and save like I did. Or all of your sliders are gone.

I just updated my osu and it still does this, though with a slimmer chance.

It looks normal in my editor but when you look in the osu file itself, it shows up like this:

This is scattered all over the maps loaded in editor:

Randomly happens to any hit object.
This bug is annoying and makes modding freaking impossible. Does anyone experience this as well?

I'm definitely on the latest build, restarted osu and didn't update.

Currently it seems like all the sliders I put linear waypoints on happens to break when playing in play mode, but appears fine in the editor.

There's a weird phenomenon where the slider is invisible in the timeline until I approach near the point where the slider is.

Uhh, sliders seem to be resnappng to whatever you have your snap on.

Oh yeah, this happens when I open a difficulty, or when I undo something.

So for I figured out that sliders are broken when you open them in your editor, but fixes itself when you go near them. To avoid them breaking when playing your map, you have to scroll through the timeline of your whole beatmap, then save the file, this prevents the NaN in your slider data in the .osu file.

If you have a NaN in your slider data, this happens:

The slider becomes deformed, invisible, and somehow appears to be far out the top left corner.

Let's mark it duplicate!

it seems pretty different, even though they spawned from the same bug. I guess I'll just merge this with the other topic.

tested these bugs on the test build, so I can safely confirm the behaviour on the latest version.

Top left is 0 on the X plane and 0 on the Y plane.
The endpoint is being fed an invalid value causing the NaN (Not a Number) string to be inserted.

Ingame it probably doesn't know what to do with sliders that have no defined endpoint, thus it becomes invisible.

It's only invisible until the game renders the slider itself on the screen in the editor, though.
