If you installed your drivers, you'll find it in the control panel. "Bamboo preferences".

I think tablet learning curve is much easier than using mouse. As for mobility the pen is much more lighter and easier for precise control and moving than the mouse. Which one is more tired ?
That's hard for me to say as to whether or not the learning curve is easier. Half the obj is accomplished by keyboard clicks, if you use +kb setups, which don't deffer in execution when switching from mouse to tablet.

I have the first generation Bamboo Fun. Bought it in late 2008 for around $100 and it's still going strong! If anything ever happens to it, I might try the second generation Bamboo Fun. Great guide, by the way! (:

I have dusty intous4 laying around here somewhere... The responsiveness is much higher than any other tablet I've ever tried. Hardly a sign of any 'squary' movements when hovering.

I personally use a Bamboo Fun: Pen and Touch for osu!. It's quite good, but the tip on the pen wears out quite quickly, and you then have to buy a whole new pen (as the Bamboo line don't have replaceable nibs). It's easy to swap between a mouse, tablet and touchscreen though, so there's never an excuse not to play osu!

My favourite part of Genius graphic tablets is the area config.

Genius tablets aren't worth it, in my opinion.

omg wacom totemo lied to me. They was like NO! you can't use older gen pens on newer gen tablets. So I raged at osu! playing some map and broke my new gen tablet pen, only to find an older gen tablet pen and IT POOTIN' WORKED. Damn wacom you LIED TO ME T_T

If you activate a circle when you press down you can fix that, i googled a bit and found out that you have to disable a think in W7 and the ring got removed. it basicly it right klicks everytime you press it down.xann wrote:

Even if the tablet is large enough with a good accuracy, the pen contains 2 AAA batteries which makes it big and heavy, and it sometimes opens itself.
The pen is made in a plastic material that gets slippy in my hand after 1min of non-intensive use, is it my fault ?
The hoovering gets regularly buggy (immobile pointer) and I need to click on the tablet to make it work (even with new batteries). This made me ragequit many maps.
I feel a lack of reactivity, but I may be wrong on this point.

I would buy a new tablet, playing with a broken/old one is hell.
If you're going to buy another tablet then keep in mind that buying a used one is risky, it could be old and have a massive delay. I had a 7 year old tablet that I never used before, after all that time I started using it but it had a delay of like 1/10th of a second. You could buy a tablet for half the price of a new one, but paying that extra ensures warranty and quality in my opinion.
Whatever you choose to do, stay with Wacom.

Thanks for your answer. I was rather thinking of buying a used Bamboo Fun/Pen/Pen&touch. Some people buy one for no solid reason, use it for 2h and then try to get rid of it, most of the time 20-30% cheaper. I'd just like to keep the same area I have now, without paying too much. But I'll go for a Wacom obviously ^^

There is nothing to say about the software for this tablet. The "force proportions" option exists ("rapport d'écran" in french, for "screen ratio"), and many customizable parameters too. The only matter is the quality of the tablet itself

I read that it was only more precise for the pressure levels of the stylus (1024, like the intuos4), and not for spacial precision. I do care about pressure levels but intuos4 is for professionals, I don't really need that :/Elysion wrote:

FYI lpi has 0 influence on osu! unless your active area is something thats 0.5sq inch which the driver wont let you do nor I don't think anyone here has that kind of motor control. Its high density count is purely for graphic applications that utilize absolute position data (Not cursor position) for example like drawing a very small circle on a 12,000px x 9000px canvas thats fitting inside a 1920x1080 screen the circle would look like a pixel when drawn on the monitor but if you zoom in it will be a small circle in retrospect its just to pick up the finer things.

Of course, I'm still far from being a top Osu! player (actually I consider myself a newbie), but since I've bought my tablet 2 months ago (when I've hit a brick wall playing with a mouse around rank #12000) I'm using these settings and I'm now at rank ~#2000 and the tablet still keeps up with my speed, while I'm still improving day by day in a noticeable pace.
Anyway, I don't know if a Wacom tablet makes a difference at top ranks, but until now I haven't felt the need for a better tablet. And I still can increase my active area if I experience any problems with the tablet's accuracy. So, my opinion thus far is that lpi doesn't matter for Osu!, even while using a small active area.

I've used different kinds of Wacom tablets and I can tell you that most tablets will function pretty much the same in osu! and you shouldn't worry about it. The only palpable differences would be the tablet's size, dimensions, and durability, all of which you can get used to or touch up in the tablet's properties tab. Other than that (i.e. buttons, pressure features, different kinds of nibs) shouldn't affect you unless you use Wacom products for digital art.UltimateZio wrote:

I purchased a 'Bamboo Pen' tablet yesterday. I hope it arrives soon!
It arrived! but I'm currently staying at my boyfriend's, so I won't be able to try it out until Saturday. I can post what I think about the tablet then if anyone is interested in buying that model.

I've been using my tablet for a couple of days now and it hasn't exactly been a pleasant experience, I find it very difficult to get used to (which is understandable) and I've been noticing the cursor gets jittery when the pen nib comes into light or quick contact with the tablet. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.
anyone know how this would fare?

I just recent;y purchased a Bamboo Pen & Touch 3rd Gen (I think it's a Connect).
It is my first time using something like this so bear with me... I'm not certain whether i should be hovering over the touchpad when playing a map or dragging with the pen and what is the ideal playing area on the touchpad.
Any experienced users with time to help out will be much appreciated thanks

Hover, it might feel weird for a bit but it is very worth it. Allows you to move faster and puts less wear and tear on your tablet/pen nibs.LLOsu wrote:

I guess you have a point, just the fact that using a pen from using a mouse is a massive step got to have wrist movements and i've always had problems holding pens weirdly as a child

does anyone have any clue when a new bamboo tablet model might be coming out? prediction that is. it's been a while since the latest generation came out.

They'll push another one out when they find a decent whistle & bell to bolt onto it. It was mostly about wireless this time around.
Does anyone write with their left hand but use their mouse with the right? Or vice-versa. Because I do, and I'm unsure of whether to get a tablet. My rhythm sucks with my right hand, so pressing Z/X is going to be difficult if I have to use the stylus with my left hand. For those that have a different mouse-hand to their pen-hand, which hand do you use your tablet stylus with?

I'm a lefty who uses my right for the mouse, and I got a tablet in March. My left hand is still faster with Z/X than my right hand is with Num1/Num2, but I've made considerable improvement in the past few months. I have my mouse DPI at exactly double my tablet area, and as of right now my accuracy on both are about equal (but the tablet is a bit more consistent). I researched and got a zero-acceleration mouse so the difference between them aren't as big (aside from the feel), but assuming you have a more basic mouse or a laser mouse, you'll notice a big boost in accuracy with the tablet once you get used to it.Androgynous wrote:

It doesn't matter if you're using a Pen&Touch or a normal 'Pen' tablet when playing osu! right? (Wacom Bamboo)
The "Touch" feature is multitouch with your fingers. Since you'll be using the pen when playing osu!, it won't matter. (My Bamboo Capture is a Pen&Touch tablet, and TBH I've disabled the multitouch feature because I never use it).kuigliii wrote:

Also I just started osu, if I do end up getting a tablet, it will more then likely be Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen and Touch Tablet
