If you mean "how could this shit get ranked", let me tell you this is way more fun to play than any of your maps tbh.Shiirn wrote:

It's an overmap,never got fixed.:33Wishy22 wrote:
So, is the ranked version of this "overmapped" or it got "fixed"? Still the ranked version is great, if this is overmapping damn I fucking love it.

bad overmapping got fixed, good overmappoH ing stayed.
While I often wonder how Shiirn's maps get ranked, his maps have no relevance here they don't excuse anybody's mistakes. Sure, it's kind of hypocritical that somebody whose maps feature inexcusable quirks should slag off other people's maps, but Shiirn has a point.Wishy22 wrote:

you can be a composer too. It's just a lot easier and usually sounds better to be a mapper.D33d wrote:

I'm not sure if you were talking about how hitsounds can be used to complement music or just composing music and mapping it, but in the sense of creating patterns to fit music, it's generally a given that one should stick to existing rhythms. If I know a song or listen to a preview, I don't want to have a load of complicated patterns foisted upon me when the song gives no indication of this.ziin wrote:

hitsounds are sounds played at certain points. A musical instrument is something that you can control to make sounds at any given time. There's no problem with writing a new drum part to a song if the hitsounds represent drums. You just have to do it well.D33d wrote:

because you change the rhythm at that point. There was silence for a reason, and you shouldn't be hitting anything on silence.nold_1702 wrote:

In regards to adding drums to a track with hitsounded objects, that's one example of overmapping which I would appreciate. However, as you said, one has to do it well--as of yet, I haven't seen it done well, so there should either be a lot of guidance provided in this regard or overmapping should be discouraged altogether. In regards to how much needless overmapping there is, I still prefer "none" to "less than."ziin wrote:

And by the way, the last I checked there's only like 20 overmapped notes in the song. That's less than a vicho difficulty.

Again, this is not what you did here. The hit objects are almost silenced and do not add to the rhythm, nor do they match it. Who are you to say that adding all of that rhythm to such a calm song even makes it better? If I were to arrange this song based on the rhythms that you've added, then the feel of it would likely be scuppered. Even then, "overmapping" doesn't just mean adding something to nothing--it also means following too much at once.nold_1702 wrote:
3.Mapper makes the song better, therefore we are helping the composer
