00:22:295 - to 00:36:623 - Unclear what the 1/2 notes are addresing:
*vocal (very unlikely): a note is missing in places like 00:22:519 - and 00:22:967 -
*piano: seems like there are too many extra notes like 00:23:414 -
*synth (I guess? That very crispy melody): missing at 00:26:101 - and 00:34:608 - , and many of them should be snapped in 1/4 like on HD
*hihat: should have a note on every 1/2 beat across this part
I'd catch the kick+snare and the vocal in this part, but this is very free and personal choice so you can go with anything you like.
In the intro some of the LNs are off beat if they follow the synth:
00:10:653 (10653|0) - 1/2 late (NM/HD)
00:14:235 (14235|0) - 1/2 late (NM)
00:17:817 (17817|0) - 1/2 late (NM/HD)
00:16:026 - Could be an 1/2 LN since the synth repeats here (HD)
If you feel unfamiliar with mania charting, stick with rule "same sound with same amount of notes". Try to plan roughly what kind of chord/pattern you are going to use for each sound/part of the song.
Some part of the map could have a more balanced pattern. Like 00:07:628 (7628|2,7828|2,8028|2,8228|2) - this anchor is avoidable if it's not intentionally designed. Similar issue see 01:15:228 - and 01:22:828 -
LN usage seems unclear in many parts.
In the intro LNs cover multiple strings, but you can map them separately with 1/2 LNs for more accurate emphasis.
00:20:428 - it's unclear what sound you focus with the LNs (vocal or piano), bcs none of these proceeds in 2/1 tempo. So again you have to follow the sound exactly from beginning to end.
The rest is kinda mirroring what I pointed out above. Anyway I really like the multi LN you mapped in several sections.
Check Asherz007's tip box: https://osu.ppy.sh/users/9014047 , there's complete info about charting that I believe will help.
There are some 1/4 sounds missing in the intro part like 00:02:950 - , and 00:03:464 - can be mapped along with the vocal. The pattern here is maybe too similar to Hard, so you can buff it with 1/4 snaps and stronger chord, until 00:23:864 - .
And again about the gap from Hard, many places have even weaker chord/LN usage vs Hard, for example:
00:22:836 - less sounds focused
00:29:007 - single LN vs double LN and double release
00:44:093 - simplyfied pattern vs 1/4 snapping and LN jack
01:03:978 - much more complicated LN pattern in Hard
and many more... There are still large space to buff the pattern with chord, LN or minijacks if you want a little bit more technical.
You use jumptrill to emphasize 1/4th drum rhythms, it's ok even though ppl today are quite against it. But for a longer phase of chord trill, try to make a little variation to make it less bland, and you can certainly use different pattern in another part of music.
Otherwise the structure looks satisfying, and check AImod about timing reports in this diff.
This song follows 1/4 tempo, but your divisor is currently set to 1/6, thereby there're many unsnapped notes like 00:09:894 (9894|2) - , should be on the 1/4 blue line. After a quick view I don't hear any sound that should be separately noted, hope you can resnap notes to the correct tempo.
Secondly, hitsounding is not in a good shape. In short: make your own hitsound arrangement in mania mode.
The current hitsound doesn't goes with the music arrangement at all, I guess it's bcs you copied the HS straight from std set. Solution: creat a new mania diff specifically for the HS, then copy-paste the HS to the actual diffs by using HS copying tool for mania.
Mania has different HP OD system vs std. For ENH set, 7,0/7,5/8,0 are the limit for HP OD but we usually stick with it. Even a little deviation will be reflected in playbility.
Hit me up if you have any question, I'll check pattern once you apply my mod.
00:37:912 - Should be "tomo2-tomo3-tomo4" combo in 1/4, and remove 00:38:223 (38223|6) - since I cant hear anything
00:06:845 (6845|6,7142|5) - These are bass but not tom, so I think not necessary to be hitsounded, 00:06:987 (6987|0) - and this one should be tom istead
You should have some sort of rules and logic when arranging patterns, following these rules will naturally form proper reasons for everything that you map.
For example, a pattern is supposed be balanced in most cases unless you have an argument to support. In normal, 00:08:779 - is a left biased pattern, but i cannot find a proper reason to support it.
If you are planning to rank this map, here are some common rules I use that might help:
- Pattern for song, not song for pattern
- Balance between both hands. If possible, balance between each column
- Consistency throughout the map, including but not limited to same pattern for the same sound
Good luck!
04:28:055 - I think it's better to stop focusing the drums if you tend to map the 1/4 sounds, see 04:28:055 (268055|3,268221|3,268388|3,268555|3,268721|3,268805|2,268971|2,269138|2) - the right half is very stuffed with anchors, and would affect the playbility a lot.
Perhaps you should turn the focus from the vocal and map the 1/2 bass 04:28:221 - with LN, it fits in better with the 1/4 sounds in tempo than the vocal.
00:08:055 (8055|0,8221|1) - I'd like to shorten these LNs to 00:08:388 - to emphasize the bass here
01:10:721 - this string is a smooth one and doesn't have vibrato or things like that, the 1/4 LNs don't follow the actual sound movement, here's an anternative: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/15201157/90b9 .
00:57:221 - Well this vocal doesn't have any significant change so definitely no worth a double LN, maybe 00:57:221 (57221|1) - is mean to follow the string instument, then it should start from 00:57:388 -
00:29:388 - I'd map this part with a simplified pattern. Notice that you currently don't have any sort of break point throughout the map and here's what i think a good opportunity to have a break.
Moreover this part has significantly lower volume of drums but is having a same weight of pattern vs 00:50:721 - , so a little contrast would also benefit.
So what I would do is just to simplify all the drums with single note and avoid sound like 00:29:555 (29555|2) - , because you can hear it has a 1/4 progress instead of 1/2, this might be mistaken while you catch the sounds.
00:10:888 - and 00:11:555 - could make a shield because the synthesizer sound has a little pause: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/15201047/d6a7
Hi, a cover version should follow the source of the original of the song (RC). Reference: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/69137#mania/425385
Source: PSYCHO-PASS
Genre: Anime
Tag suggestions: ryo ending
00:21:234 - you can map the 1/4 sound to emphasize the transition part here: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/15198770/011b
notice that 00:21:734 - should be triple for the cymbal like other parts
00:14:234 (14234|3,14400|0,14400|2) - incorrect chord, the one with a kick below should have the double
01:03:067 - this has the same structure vs 01:00:400 - but is mapped differently. perhaps you wanted to proceed with that way: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/15198528/5cd4
01:18:406 - So there are actually more than 3 piano sounds, could make a couple of rolls for better emphasis https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/15197668/c97b
