03:14:314 (204,205,206,207,208) - Maybe kdddK or kkddK here, just because I hate hitting finishers on kdkdK personally lol
00:52:916 (61) - make this k
00:53:335 - add d
Fits the vocals and you have a 3/1 break before it already.
01:06:132 (83) - I don't really get why this note is here specifically. I'd rather focus on the drums:
01:06:132 (83) -> 01:06:342 - and make it k
01:06:762 - add another k
02:01:727 (4,5,6,7) - I don't think these doublets match any layer of the music properly. There are couple different approaches that I'd do instead.
If you want to keep doublet mapping, stick to the drums instead:
02:01:727 (4) -> 02:01:622 & 02:02:042 (6) -> 02:01:937
02:05:083 (22) -> 02:04:979 & 02:05:398 (24) -> 02:05:293
and so on. Also on the second kiai
You can use some dk / kd doublets on muzu level diffs btw, so consider doing that for some more pattern variety
Guitar focus, would result in no doublets:
02:02:042 (6) -> 02:01:937
Could delete 02:02:986 (12) -
etc.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
02:07:601 (37,38,39,40) - Having this sudden 1/1 section when the other instances of this part are densely mapped feels really off. Here is how I'd do it, depending on which option you chose above:
02:02:986 (286) -> 02:02:356 -
02:06:342 (297) -> 02:05:713 -
02:09:699 (307) -> 02:09:069 -
Fits the guitar better and makes the patterning on this section more interesting imo.
In the last kiai you could do the same (02:56:692 (28) -> 02:56:062 - etc.), but also add 02:57:741 and equivalent for longer patterns.
01:06:132 (137,138,139,140) - The mapping here is oddly sparse for a drumroll, especially since you've mapped it with 1/4 triplets on muzu. Could do some 1/2 instead, maybe like this:
01:05:923 - https://i.imgur.com/CWWre9a.png
00:27:321 & 01:21:028 - the 2 sections are quite underwhelming / uninteresting in the lower diffs, especially compared to the top diff. I'd recommend a few buffs.
oni
No need to change much. I posted one mod on it already. Other than those, maybe could add 00:28:720 - 00:31:797 - 00:35:433. Or possibly only 1 of the 2 suggestions.
muzukashii
Those 1/3 doublets just don't play that well. I think you could make them all quads instead (so add 00:27:601 - 00:28:440 - 00:30:118 - etc.). If you keep the patterns themselves very simple (mono /dddk / kkkd, maybe couple kddk / dkkd) there shouldn't be any issues.
futsuu
It's just 1/1 spam. Not interesting at all. You can simplify the vocals with 1/2 instead. If the start and end of the 1/2 pattern match the vocals, the middle won't feel off despite the inaccuracies. So could add 00:27:531 - 00:28:370 - 00:28:790 - 00:30:049 - 00:30:888 - etc.
kantan
since the higher diffs would be buffed, you should probably add some more 1/1 on this diff too.
00:53:335 (77,78,79,80,81) - I find a finisher a tad awkward to hit on a kdkdK pattern, so maybe do kdddK or kkddK instead? I fthink these patterns fit better for the drum sounds too.
Your spread has some serious issues.
Futsuu is way too easy due to the lack of 1/2 patterns. Not only does this make the gap between it and Kantan too small, but also makes the diff quite uninteresting. This gets extra bad on the kiais, which consists solely of 1/2 or slower snapping. This makes it too easy even compared to the earlier parts of the diff. The kiai part is the most intense part of the song, but the least intense in terms of mapping, so there is that discrepancy as well. Also kiai patterns are almost solely 1/2 ddkkdd or 1/1 dkdkdk type, making it really monotone / uninteresting to play.
Muzu doesn't use any 1/4 and is often times way too sparsely mapped compared to the Oni diff. The diff ends up being more like a Futsuu+.
Here are 2 examples:
00:35:955 - https://i.imgur.com/xvei2i5.png
01:11:055 - https://i.imgur.com/4a5DyLE.png
In both of these, there is almost no difference between Kantan and Futsuu, Muzu is mapped more like a Futsuu diff would, and the density jump to Oni is just massive. You need to balance the spread if you want to make something rankable.
00:54:555 - you have spinner on Oni but slider on the rest. Spinner is easier than a slider. Either do it the other way around or make every diff the same
Also please don't use the soft sampleset for hitsounds, it suck in taiko.
02:16:884 (334) - 02:20:660 (352) - 02:26:954 (378) - 02:27:374 (381) - I don't think these 1/8 are supported by anything major in the music, they just feel overmapped / forced to me. I'd rather delete them.
01:09:069 (224) - in this section you kind of swap between following the vocals and the 1/1 drum beat in a way that feels unnatural / awkward to me. I'd rather you'd stick with the vocal focus overall:
01:07:811 - add d
01:08:650 - d
01:08:860 - k
01:09:069 - add k
01:09:279 - delete
01:10:538 - k
01:10:538 -> 01:10:748 -
01:11:167 - add d
01:12:846 - k
01:13:265 - d
01:13:475 - k
01:14:524 - add a note
01:15:993 -> 01:15:783 -
01:16:202 - add d
01:16:412 - k
01:17:251 - k
01:17:671 -> 01:17:461 -
01:17:881 - add d
I find the coloring in the chorus sections to be quite counter-intuitive in a lot of places. Examples:
00:41:272 (8,9) - both drum and vocal pitch goes high->low, but notes are dk which suggests the opposite
00:43:055 (23,24,25) - the opposite is true here
00:46:202 (48,49,50) - again, ddk doesn't really fit any layer in the music imo.
and so on.
My opinion: it is fine to have some "inaccuracies" within longer patterns for pattern variety or comfort. The exception to this, however, are the first and last notes. Since the ends are very distinct / noticeable, it is much more important to match them to the music properly.
That being said, here are some suggestions of how you could change the patterns (main focus on vocals):
00:41:272 (8,9) - ctrl+g & 00:41:587 (10) - k
00:42:951 (22,23,24,25) - kddk & 00:43:475 (26,27) - ctrl+g
00:44:314 - dkkkddk
00:45:993 - ddkkk or ddkkd
00:46:832 - kkdkd or kdkkd
00:47:671 - dkkkd or kkdkd & 00:48:300 (63) - k
00:49:559 (74) - ddkkd or dkdkd
00:49:979 - kkddk or kdddk
00:51:132 (86) - kkdkkkddk or kdkkdkddk
I recommend moving all inherited timing points (except for kiai start / end) backwards by at least a few ms for couple reasons:
Placing your green lines earlier than the intended note will guarantee that everything works properly, so I recommend getting into the habit of always doing that.
Could add notes for the drums on 00:27:951 - 00:32:986 - 00:38:021 - 00:38:440 - since you did something similar on 00:34:664
I know that the focus is on the vocals, but these don't really break the flow so it should be fine.
(Not doing this is just fine too, I just think this approach could also be interesting)
00:31:377 (78) - Having this one separated note feels kinda awkward to play to me, especially since similar notes are otherwise on 1/2 ticks in this section. Maybe add another note on 00:31:517 ? Still fits as vocal fill-in + makes the 1/3 snapping more clear.
00:42:527 (2) - this note feels really off on this spot, I'd move it to 00:42:708
Then add a note on 00:43:250 - for the vocals, I think this flows much better.
00:19:937 (92,93,94) - The main mapping focus on this section seems to be vocals / guitar, but these are mapped with the main drum hits => feels kinda disjointed. I'd recommend vocal focus in this manner:
00:20:117 - d
00:20:479 - d
00:20:660 -> 00:20:840
Continuing with the same mapping focus:
00:21:563 - d
00:21:744 - change to k
00:24:455 - d
00:24:816 - k
00:26:262 - d
00:26:443 -> 00:26:623 -
00:27:708 - d
00:28:611 -> 00:28:792 -
00:28:973 - maybe change to k
00:11:081 (37,38,39,40,41,42) - This mapping style doesn't really match anything going on in the song. If you want to follow the guitar, something like this would be a much better fit:
00:10:178 - https://i.imgur.com/DrorGbj.png (timestamp = first note in the pic)
Similarly:
00:16:232 -> 00:16:322 -
00:17:316 -> 00:17:678 -
00:06:202 (19) - I'd say don here in order to distinguish the different drum sound from the neighboring ones.
00:54:816 - add d for the drum hit, feels awkward not mapping the sound.
01:06:382 - same
You seem to give some focus on the vocal in the kiai as well, so I'd add some notes for them too:
00:55:178 - 00:56:714 - 00:58:069 - 01:06:744 - 01:08:280 - 01:09:635 -
Overall I feel like the kiai is quite underwhelming for the most part, since 1/4 is mostly just doublets and triplets. There are some really long 1/4 patterns earlier in the map, so I'd expect the kiai to match that difficulty at least somewhat. So I'd try to fit in at least a few 5x patterns, maybe some longer ones if you find it reasonable.
00:19:756 - 00:20:117 - 00:21:744 - 00:24:455 - 00:25:539 - 00:25:901 - 00:27:527 - I think you should add notes on all/most of these spots. You ignore bunch of clear vocals despite having a vocal focus on this section, plus the abundance of 1/1 breaks makes it feel oddly sparse for this diff level.
You could delete 00:19:575 & 00:25:358 and not add 00:21:744 & 00:27:527 if you want to follow the vocals more strictly:
00:16:051 (75,76) - I don't hear anything in the music that would support this kind of mapping choice here. I'd rather just move 00:16:051 -> 00:16:141
00:23:182 - you could do 1/4 kkkkd here instead (00:23:272 - 00:23:453 - k & 00:23:543 - d) for the vocals, since that is what you focus on in this section.
00:24:085 (142,143,144) - since this triplet is mapped according to the guitar, and there is not note that stands out, a kkd pattern feels a tad off. Maybe do a simple ddd instead?
