volumes could use a little touch up, i think at least up to the first drop (00:38:141). the hitnormal overpowers the samples in these calmer sections pretty hard...

maybe try these and see how you feel about them

i think the way your hitsounds are setup kinda limits how you can represent certain things in the map

  • whistle kicks:
    not that these are absolutely a crime or anything as some people say, but they do impact your ability to use whistles on literally anything else. this is particularly noticeable in the intro where you basically get forced to ignore the 8-bit sounds you're mapping (00:00:173 (1,1,1) basically having no feedback, etc...)
    there's also just like two other places that kicks generally fit in (normal-hitnormal, drum-hitnormal) so idk it doesnt really make sense to me here

  • generally just quiet samples:
    these aren't issues by themselves, but in the context of the whole map i think the situation on this could be improved. some stuff that should feel particularly emphasized actually feel weak with only these samples, like 01:22:673 (1) - which has whistle finish and clap on it. normally i'd expect something like that to destroy my eardrums or something but... i guess not, it's very quiet.
    if you want to keep these samples i'd suggest actually getting some louder ones and having another sampleset for them so you can have proper volume for the higher intensity stuff in the song

The beginning part hsing was intentional, I didn't want to spam 8-bit samples a lot there since I received feedback before uploading that it felt bad, so I stuck to the "heavier" beats in the section and did a pattern that fit around on important stuff.

I might ask people that know more about hsing to check the set, since I'm bad at these. I agree I could do with stronger samples overall, but haven't found much better so far.
