I normally don't like Japanese songs, nor do I generally like anime OP/EP's.
But this map is unique and deserves to be looked at. Give the novice mapper a chance.

Just curious, is there any limit for the supporters? what if i call a bunch of my friends to post here...?

i'd say set a limit like osu rank in #5000, or have 50 kudosus, or have 5 ranked beatmaps.

...otherwise, i think some friend spams could happen here.

Edit: also it's not so friendly to new mappers because they don't know many people... *sigh.

To the first point, I ask that people are reasonable. I have no issue with you calling your friends here to vouch for you, as long as they've played your map and honestly enjoyed it. The goal, however, is not only to encourage people to testplay each other's maps, but also to generally get people to go out into the community and talk to people, meet new people, try out each other's styles.

The first is that if you get all your maps speedranked already...well, posting in this queue isn't really the best way to continue, since you'll have to wait an extra 24 hours for the contest to end, and you could've just gotten your map modded in that time.

Assuming you're an experienced mapper who is having trouble getting MAT/BAT attention, you are in my target audience, and you have the connections to get vouches. Perfectly fine by me.

If you're a new mapper, but your map is in a bubble-ready state, you should have had enough mods on it to be able to get something going. Go talk to some of the people that have modded your map in the past, get their feedback, ask them to vouch for you. Make some new friends, because after all, you're new, you haven't met the wealth of sexy, intelligent people osu! has to offer.

If you're new and you haven't had many mods, then your map is most likely not ready for MAT attention yet in the first place, and you should look at some of the other queues before this one.

Your feedback, however, is appreciated. I'll make sure to take the newer mapper community into account, and maybe make some of these visions a bit more transparent in the next challenge. If you have any more concerns, feel free to talk to me. It's just that I don't really want to change the rules once the competition's started.

Challenge 2: Mods and maps go hand-in-hand.

This challenge begins immediately. Sign-ups begin right now, and last until 9 PM PST, August 20, 2011. To sign up, simply make a post in this thread with your non-ranked map within the signup time limit. This map does NOT need to be bubble-ready, although it certainly can be. It doesn't even need to be in pending.

Once signups are completed, participants will be split into groups, and each participant will have time to mod every other map within his/her group. The time allotted will be 24 hours per group member excluding yourself. Thus, each member of a group of 4 (which will be the normal size) will have 72 hours to complete 3 mods.

After completing all 3 mods, you will be required to send me a forum PM giving a score to each of the three maps that you have modded, based on your own criteria of a good map. THESE SCORES MUST ADD UP TO 100. Thus, you can give 33,33,34 if you thought they were almost the same quality, or 70,20,10 if one particularly stood out.

After receiving all 3 mods, you will be required to send me a second PM giving a score to each of the three mods you have received based on how useful they were. Once again, these scores should add up to 100!

Once this has been completed, the players will be ranked in terms of total score from both modding and mapping, with the scores adjusted if group sizes turn out to be uneven, and the top N players will once again receive a mod from our awesome team. But hey, just by participating, you get ~3 mod4mods, even if you don't win. Good for all.

There will be score penalties for lateness, and blacklist penalties for non-modding after getting a prod.

Oh yeah. MATs and BATs take half points in the modding category. If you receive an 80 in modding, you only get +40 to your total score. Sorry. You're expected to give stellar mods.

And you get a normal ticket here, so that's 3 days to decide what map to put it on. Not confined to the map you post for modding. Not even confined to any of your own maps.

Deadlines:
These are all for a normal team of 4 players; add one day to b) and c) for each extra player, remove one day for each player under 4.

1. Aug. 20 - Signups end.
2. Aug. 23 - Modding ends. Map scoring also ends, since you should have played all the maps by now.
3. Aug. 24 - Mod scoring ends, assuming all modding has been completed. Otherwise, 24 hours after you receive your last mod, or 24 hours after I ask you for scores, whichever is earlier. If you get your mods early, feel free to PM them to me early too.

Whats the time limit to send you that forum pm for scoring for both what you think on the 3 maps and what you think of the 3 mods on your map?
And what if by some chance someone in your group already modded your map in the past?

As a head's-up, I've already modded CMP's, Zelos's, and Hellzero's maps already.

Thus, each member of a group of 4 (which will be the normal size) will have 72 hours to complete 3 mods.

Wouldn't 1 person be left out? Maybe change it to 4 mods or groups of 3?

Each person would mod the other 3 maps

4 per group = 3 excluding yourself. You are not gonna mod your own map are you?

I'm gonna submit my closes to complete map just for this.

I'll make sure to make it have stupid things so it's easier to mod, cuz I'm a nice guy like that.

Instructions:

The FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS CHECK IF YOU HAVE TO MOD A MAP YOU ALREADY MODDED. If there is, you have to PM me within 23 hours of this post. I will then send out PMs to change mod/map roles.

DO NOT PM ME IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY MODDED YOUR MAP. They will PM me anyways, and I don't need the double-PM. If you notice and don't receive a PM from me tomorrow, and they mod it again, just score them fairly. (i.e. don't give bonus points for their previous mod or anything) As well, you are still responsible for modding their map! Just because they won't mod yours doesn't mean you don't mod theirs; someone that you didn't give a mod to will come and give you a mod. (details in the PM)

In other words, for the first 24 hours, you can mod the maps you haven't already modded, and PM me the maps you already have. Afterwards, I'll give you instructions on who to mod, and who to expect mods from, and ensure that everyone will give and receive 3 mods, except the group with 5 people, which will give and receive 4 mods.

Don't bother explaining, just be fair. I'm too lazy to read through 21 people's PMs...2 PMs each, 3 explanations per PM...nope, not bothering to read 126 sections.

I think I gave plenty of signup time. So I won't die any time soon~

Should members of the 5-map group parcel out 133 points instead of 100? Or will you just weigh the scores 1.33x for us?

And can we get a 24 hour extension on the basis of having to mod one additional map?
