Easy Diff

-> 00:49:124 (3) - I think it sounds better, if you put a slider from 00:48:781 - to this point
It matches better with the vocals and sounds better with a slider than a Circle (imo)

  • 00:53:581 (1,2,3) - this is the only 3 circles in a row in this section uwu why not same with 00:48:096 (1,2) - ? i can notice the swoosh sound incoming but yeah current one is kinda way too sudden.
  • 01:03:181 (1) - uhmmm try 1/2 slider instead in sacrifice of rhythm picking? they probably holds same length on 01:03:524 (2,3) - and breaks the combo so yeah i think considering some stable readability will be great here

  • Is 1680x1050 a rankable background resolution? I'm aware that stuff up to 1920x1080 is fine, but there's also aspect ratio to be taken into account.

  • 00:23:753 (1) - Any reason for the NC to be here? I'd rather place it at 00:25:124 (2) - since the phrase begins at 00:24:781.
  • 00:27:867 (2) - nazi: 1px down for perfect blanket
  • 00:41:924 (2) - Would look cooler if you moved the last sliderpoint to x226 y64 so both head and tail are equally spaced in relation to (1)'s sliderend. Aesthetically better imo.
  • 00:49:124 (3) - I'd rather move this note to 00:48:781 (3). It's a rhythm that's easier to keep for new players. You could also just add a note there and keep the one as it is.
  • 01:15:524 (3) - nazi: 2px down for better blanket
  • 01:16:896 (1) - Maybe make the edge happen exactly as the slidertick happens? Emphasizes the song better, I guess
  • 01:25:124 (1) - I'd rather have this stacked with 01:23:410 (2) - and move 01:26:153 (2) - accordingly to fix the triangle. Looks a bit nicer, imo


Normal
    AR feels sliiiightly too low considering the slider speed and spacing, raising it a bit to 5.5 or even 6 would work better. Pretty tough map for a Normal though, feels a bit more like a Hard, but may just be me

  • 00:45:353 (2) - Repeat is offgrid, I believe it doesn't fall off playfield but I'd move it a bit left just to be safe
  • 00:54:953 (1,2) - pretty much every modder complained about these kinds of stacks on my Normal diffs so I'll just mention this once since they happen everywhere in this diff, I personally have no problem with stacking stuff on Normal diffs but just a reminder that people are probably gonna bother you about this
  • 00:59:067 (1) - Is the NC here intentional? Just curious because the rhythm does change, but it's a bit inconsistent with the NC usage in this diff overall.
  • 01:20:667 (4) - I believe this slider is going a bit off the playfield, not sure tho
  • 01:42:439 (3) - 1px left (and 1 down i think?) for better blanketing


Hard
  • 00:28:896 (1) - I'd move this to x327 y290 to make the pattern look nicer
  • 00:49:124 (3) - nazi: move 1px to the right for perfect stacking :^)
  • 00:56:839 (3,4,5) - nazi: move them 1px up to stack perfectly with 00:57:696 (1) - (the reason i don't ask you to move (1) instead is because it'd ruin a blanket)
  • 01:03:181 (1,2,3) - Reeeeeeeally not sure about this, pretty sure this is almost unpredictable. I'd just rather have 4 sliders with 2 repeats each, works much better in this case. If you reeeeally want to emphasize the sound at 01:04:039, then maybe you could shorten (2) to a slider with 2 repeats and add a non-repeating slider at 01:03:867, but I'm pretty sure this wouldn't go through the ranking process.

Sergio's Light Insane
    There seem to be a lot of green sections that are supposed to lower volume for filler 1/4 sliderends, but they don't actually lower the volume. Is this intentional?

  • 00:27:010 (1,2) - Why isn't the NC at (2) instead? I understand that you're basing if off the vocals, but this doesn't happen at 00:33:524 (2) - 00:38:153 (3) - etc.
  • 00:41:067 (1) - Maybe move this (and the whole combo) to x271 y78? Makes the blanket look much nicer
  • 00:49:981 (3) - Why is this slider the only 1/1 at this part? There's nothing really worth emphasizing here and for everything else you used a constant 1/2 rhythm.
  • 01:03:867 (1) - Don't really agree with the NC usage here, it's basically the same phrase/pattern. Contrary to the other patterns where you NC'd everytime you indicated a change in spacing or pattern, this NC doesn't seem to do either.

  • 00:25:639 (3) - nazi: 1px right and 1px down for perfect stacking :ok_hand:
  • 00:30:610 (2) - 4px right for better blanketing?
  • 00:32:324 (7,8) - Pretty awkward movement here imo, I'd rather do something like this even though it kinda kills emphasis

  • 00:50:496 (1,2,1) - Yellow combo (1) should be spaced at least equally as (1,2) from orange combo to preserve emphasis and movement. That'd kinda ruin your patterns now so well just let it pass

  • 01:04:896 (3,1) - Spacing feels a bit too low IMO. Maybe move 01:05:067 (1) to x266 y155?
  • 01:26:667 (2) - nazi: 1px right for better stacking

M4M from here. I didn't find much so I just got a bit nitpicky and often talked about 1/2 stacks with very consistently using diffs as an exception. Hope it's somewhat helpful~

Not much to say for me here so I got really nitpicky
  • starting off really nazi. This blanket is not perfect 00:41:581 (3,6) - the end is closer than the body and head if you pull it back and use 1/8 snap.
  • this kinda looks weird with stacking enabled and in game 00:42:010 (6,7,8,1) - you might wanna nudge it under 8 more accurately
  • this is the first 1/2 stack in the map so far which is kind of a reading spike 00:53:239 (1,2) - since you also used 1/1 stacks before 00:42:438 (8,1) - might be ok at this difficulty, but I don't think this is the best solution. Maybe use them earlier if you can.
  • the slider body of 5 isn't perfectly in line with 4 01:08:153 (4,5) - tilting it by about 10° or moving the body along the blanket would be better I think... really nitpicky obviously.
  • blanket 01:13:124 (2,3) - head is further away than the rest.

I see that you sort of used it as a variation with the following ones being the same, but I though I'd let my suggestion stay as it is.

  • this is like one of the only jumps in the diff 00:53:924 (3,4) - I think it doesn't make too much sense in this place and there weren't any earlier, not sure maybe you can implement one or two jumps earlier to make this less unexpected.

  • every stack until now was 1/2 so normal nubs might misread this as 1/2 00:54:953 (1,2) - it's consistent in this section it might be confusing up until this point. I would suggest to space them out... or introduce other stacks than 1/2 early on which is still maybe hard to read for normal players.

  • the lack of hitsounds here is kinda of confusing 00:30:953 (2,3,4) - seems either unintentional or just as a result of copying and rhythm choice. Similar thing in the kiai, I'm not sure if you think that slider tick Hitsounds would be good, but I'll suggest those.
  • I think making this a slider would be more fitting 01:48:781 (2,1) - the player would release on the last note after a relatively long hold, just an idea tho.

Now onto the actual mod (Shoutouts to Realazy for his moral support during my BG search)


Image Easy

  • 01:30:267 (3) - Slider tail is stronger than slider head. Would be nice as 2 circles since it would break up the heavy slider use in here
  • Apart that try breaking up long sections of sliders only with a few circles. That's about it, nice easy



Image Normal

  • 00:33:353 (2,3,4) - Rhythm here feels out of place compared to the rest of the intro, plus doing it this way you miss on a more important beat on 00:33:867 -
  • 00:54:953 (1,2) - Guideline from RC "Avoid overlapping circles, slider heads, and slider tails. These can be confusing for new players. 1/2 overlaps due to distance snapping are an exception." You should avoid the 1/1 overlaps here since they are against the guideline and can confuse palyers with the 1/2 overlaps later on 01:01:810 (4,5) - 01:06:439 (2,3) -
  • 01:03:353 (1) - This spinner should be ending at the same place as on the easy. It makes more sense to have it there
  • My last issue is the Easy-Normal-Hard Spread. First of all the Normal uses a lot of 1/2, especially for a normal. Another problem is that the Normal and Hard have the same SV (1.2) and the same spacing when it comes to DS for 1/2 (1.3x). THis makes it so the jump from the easy to the normal is too high and the jump from the normal to the hard is too small. The best solutiuon to this is to nerf the normal by reducing spacing to 1.2 or 1.1x DS and using less 1/2



Image Hard

  • 00:30:953 (3) - Out of the slider head reverse and tail, the reverse has the stronget sound. Instead of a reverse, circle+1/2 would be better
  • 00:32:324 (3) - Same here the sound on the tail is stronger than the sound on the tail. This comes back a bunch of times in the intro. I won't pull a ^ mod on you and so hopefully you can fix them
  • 01:03:181 (1,2,3) - Having different lenghts for reverse sliders is pretty confusing for a Hard diff. Putting 4 equal length ones would be better
  • 01:49:296 (6,1) - Since it's the last note you could emphasize it more

  • 00:22:553 (2,3) - Would've been nice if you kept this distinct 1/2 spacing for the entire intro as some kind connection with the rest of the diff.

  • 01:16:553 (5) - Not a fan of the round circle + on skins with no slider ends it's impossible to know which side it goes. It's not unrankable but it would be nice to change

  • 00:50:839 (1,2,1) - you kinda changed your spacing concept here ( compared to 00:49:467 (1,2,1) - ) Might change this later, for now I kinda got stuck because of how I made my aesthetics.
  • 00:55:296 (2) - better at somewhere like x:261 y:107 tbh, you tend to space this circle out a bit e.g. 00:56:667 (2) - , 00:58:039 (2) - did
  • 01:24:096 (2) - space out more, you tend to space out the snare quite a bit during the kiai did

The 1/2 sliders work much better here sicne the strong sounds on 01:06:267 - on slider ends is a bit weak the point of the 2 1/2 sliders in the beginning was to sort of give a little ease on the rhythm, though there are hihats to support a stream on the end of (2) i avoided it here purposely to make the jumps before it stronger and to make the start of the chorus less dense. the other instances i incorporate the hihats, and i'd rather use 1/1 sliders to lead into them better.
  • 01:11:410 (1) - CTRl-J so the movement from right before goes in nicer with the wide angle would rather not, structure is focused around the curves in this slider
  • NCs are kind of a mess tbh. I just I can't see the logic behind them. Most of them are unecessary and there's barely any consistency lul hobbes said the same, reworked em

  • 01:04:553 (1,2,3) - flow not very comfortable here intended to be not comfortable since the song calms down. This forced flow forces the player to go slower and accumulate pressure till the point of release (01:05:410 (6) - )
  • 01:19:296 (5) - try increasing spacing here? you tend to space out the last circle of these patterns in this section umh... it's more of the result the spacing creates. Since this is an upwards movement it feels stronger with shorter spacing. If I increase it even more it would be too hard imo
  • 01:30:610 (1,2,3) - perhaps you can equalize DS here? same at 01:38:839 (1,2,3) - I thought they were, ops
  • 01:35:753 (3,4) - like the only time where you didn't stack these two circles in this kind of pattern in this kiai section true


@Aki I honestly don't know who would even notice those lol. First one is considering objects that are not seen together on playfield, while the other two are relatively... small. Tried moving them a bit anyway

    There seem to be a lot of green sections that are supposed to lower volume for filler 1/4 sliderends, but they don't actually lower the volume. Is this intentional? not in the least. Blame Hobbes

  • 00:27:010 (1,2) - Why isn't the NC at (2) instead? I understand that you're basing if off the vocals, but this doesn't happen at 00:33:524 (2) - 00:38:153 (3) - etc. because I wasn't following the vocals lol. NCs are based on the instruments, more precisely, that guitar in background which dictates the base rhythm in this intro
  • 00:41:067 (1) - Maybe move this (and the whole combo) to x271 y78? Makes the blanket look much nicer I don't really care that much about blankets lol. As long as they are sort of visible, I'm fine with them as they are
  • 00:49:981 (3) - Why is this slider the only 1/1 at this part? There's nothing really worth emphasizing here and for everything else you used a constant 1/2 rhythm. it's a warning: it serves to tell the player "things are gonna change, be careful". It's what is called a transition
  • 01:03:867 (1) - Don't really agree with the NC usage here, it's basically the same phrase/pattern. Contrary to the other patterns where you NC'd everytime you indicated a change in spacing or pattern, this NC doesn't seem to do either. changing rhythm: from 1 stream + slider to 2 sliders

  • why is this the only fully stacked one? 00:49:467 (1,2) - I could rather be stacked with the head of 00:48:783 (4) - or in a triangle with these 2 00:48:611 (3,4) - ... I see that you sort of used it as a variation with the following ones being the same, but I though I'd let my suggestion stay as it is. explained this to someone else above too: it's a transition to warn the players that things are gonna change. If you notice, circles like 00:50:496 (4,5) - or 00:51:867 (5,6) - are on vocals, which weren't considered before in the first patterns after the break

  • 00:22:553 (2,3) - Would've been nice if you kept this distinct 1/2 spacing for the entire intro as some kind connection with the rest of the diff. did the opposite and stacked them since that was the main concept in the intro
  • 00:38:153 (3) - Curves could be reduced for a cleaner slider shape. It's scrunched up right now I actually wanted it curved enough to catch the feeling I get from the vocals tho. It doesn't seem "that ugly" to me
  • 01:16:553 (5) - Not a fan of the round circle + on skins with no slider ends it's impossible to know which side it goes. It's not unrankable but it would be nice to change I map with default skin, I expect players to use something similar to it. It's their fault for using such a skin tbh and I can't please everyone anyway.

It should be okay, this is a harder normal so the reading is a bit harder too. Overall the 1/2 and 1/1 are far away and in their own groups so it shouldnt cause many problems.

Regarding spread, it should be okay. Normal is quite tough for a normal, and the hard is...similar. E-N-H spread shouldn't be an issue.

If you reeeeally want to emphasize the sound at 01:04:039, then maybe you could shorten (2) to a slider with 2 repeats and add a non-repeating slider at 01:03:867, but I'm pretty sure this wouldn't go through the ranking process.

I won't pull a ^ mod on you and so hopefully you can fix them my logic with the rhythm is kinda like get the claps mapped when I can, but I was primarily doing a vocal focused rhythm. so parts have like a hybrid of vocal rhythm + instrumental rhythm. this is evident in the top diff as well.
01:03:181 (1,2,3) - Having different lenghts for reverse sliders is pretty confusing for a Hard diff. Putting 4 equal length ones would be better
01:49:296 (6,1) - Since it's the last note you could emphasize it more
