Mania Beginner's Showdown

The Mania Beginner's Showdown (MBS) was a worldwide double-elimination 1v1 osu!mania 4K tournament hosted by Ladylag and Mirthille. The tournament had two divisions to separate the skillset between players: the high division consisted of players ranked #10,000–#50,000, and the low division consisted of players ranked #50,001–#100,000. This was the first instalment of the Mania Beginner's Showdown.

Qualifiers

• Only the top 29 can proceed to the Knockout Stage

Ruleset

1. Please keep/change, your Discord name using your osu! name. This allows the referees to know who to ping when they'll be sending invites to.
2. This tournament is a 1 versus 1 osu!mania 4K tournament and will use Score V2 as the scoring system.
3. The tournament will use double-elimination bracket system.
4. You lose your match automatically if you are 10 minutes late.
5. Respect between each is expected of players and staff members.
6. There is a rank buffer of 500 ranks up (#9,500) and down (#100,500) for registrations. This buffer goes up to 250 ranks for High Bracket and 2,500 ranks for Low Bracket each further stage. If you do not meet the rank range by the end of the tournament, we reserve the rights to disqualify you.
7. Qualifiers maps will be played twice and will only count your best score over the 2 tries.
8. If someone dies at the end of the map, its score will be 0. However, if he manages to revive, his score will be added back.
9. Seeding for qualifiers will be based on the average rank you do on the maps (not the global rank, of course.)
10. The mods allowed are: Flashlight, Hidden and Fade In.
11. Warmups will be allowed after the qualifier stage. It must not have any explicit content and have its length less than 4 minutes.
12. If both players have the same score on a map, it will be replayed.
13. Pairings for brackets will go like this: if this is a RO32, it will match the 1st seed against the 32nd
14. Players ban 2 maps per match (except in qualifiers in which they won't be able to ban any map at all), making 4 banned maps per match.
15. You cannot ban two maps of the same category.
16. Players will use the !roll command to decide the order of the picks and bans. The winner of the !roll will have the first pick, and the loser will have the first ban.
17. Even during a tournament, osu! is just a game, please be fairplay.
18. Reschedules will only be considered if both players agree to a time, this needs to be done and notified to the #reschedules text channel inside the Discord server before Wednesday at 23:59 UTC+0 in that particular week when your match takes place.
19. In the case of player disconnections, if it occurs within the first 30 seconds, or 25% of the song (whichever comes first) the map will be nullified and re-attempted. This only happens 1 time per match.
20. Here are the BO for each round :

    • Round of 64 and Round of 32: Best of 7 (first to 4 points)
    • Round of 16 and Quarterfinals: Best of 9 (first to 5 points)
    • Semifinals: Best of 11 (first to 6 points)
    • Finals and Grand Finals: Best of 13 (first to 7 points)
