Ruleset

General Rules

  • Players who currently have (or had at some point since account creation) the Philippine flag on their profile, or players who do not have the Philippine flag on their profiles, but can present a proof of their Philippine citizenship to the staff, are the only ones allowed to join the tournament.
  • All players are allowed to join both 4K and 7K tournaments.
  • Score v2 will be used.
  • The following mods are allowed: Fade In (FI), Hidden (HD), Flashlight (FL), Mirror (MR), No Fail (NF).

Round Overview

Qualifier Stage

  • There will be 6 notecharts, consisting of: [4K] 2 Rice-based, 2 LN-based, and 2 Hybrid, [7K] 3 Rice-based, 2 LN-based, and 1 Hybrid
  • Players will be scheduled to a multiplayer room according to their availability. For players joining both 4K and 7K, the multiplayer rooms will be done at separate times. Each multiplayer room for this round will have the name in the following format: PHNM2024: (<Block Name> Qualifier)
  • Each player will get 2 attempts at each chart, only the best attempt for each chart will count.
  • Each chart will have its own leaderboard, and each player's overall seed will be determined by their overall score rating. Please refer to this document (specifically, "The SOFT Score Rating System" section on page 2) for more details.
  • The top 16 players for each keymode will advance to their respective bracket.

Bracket Stage

  • Players are placed into a double-elimination bracket. They comprise of the Top 16 from the qualifiers.
  • Mappool Sizes and Best of Format for each round are given as follows (this applies for both 4K and 7K):
    • Round of 16 (Best of 9) - 5 Rice-based, 3 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker
    • Quarterfinals and Semifinals (Best of 11)- 6 Rice-based, 4 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker
    • Finals and Grand Finals (Best of 13)- 7 Rice-based, 5 LN-based, 3 Hybrids, 1 Tiebreaker

Match Rules

  • The multiplayer room will be created and invites sent to players 5-10 minutes prior to the match start time. The multiplayer rooms are named in the following format: PHNM2024: (<Player 1>) vs. (<Player 2>)
  • If a player is more than 10 minutes late to the for their match, the player inside the MP room will be declared the winner. If neither player appears, the player with the higher seed will be considered the winner.
  • Players are required to protect 1 chart, and ban 1 chart in the pool, excluding the tiebreaker. Protected charts cannot be banned, and banned charts cannot be picked. The players shall use the !roll command in-game to determine the order in which charts are protected, banned, and picked. The order is as follows:
    • Player with the higher roll: First Protect, First Pick
    • Player with the lower roll: First Ban
    • The Protect phase happens first, then Bans, then Picks.
  • Each player will alternate picks based on the !roll results until a winner is determined based on the Best-of format for the round. If both players are tied on match point (e.g. 4-4 score in a Best-of-9), the players will play the tiebreaker map of the pool to determine the winner.
  • Players are given 2 minutes to protect/ban/pick maps when it is their turn. Failure to do so means that the referee will protect/ban/pick at random in behalf of the player.
  • Players are eligible to use a 2 minute tactical time out once per match. They are only allowed to use it when it is their turn to pick. It will take into effect after the pick timer has expired.

Player Conduct

In order to preserve the integrity of the tournament, all players are expected to observe proper conduct befitting a "national championship".

Improper conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Any form of toxicity towards other players, staff, or spectators.
  • Unsportsmanlike behaviour, such as purposefully throwing matches or match fixing.
  • Deliberate misconduct.
  • Deliberate stalling in matches or other actions complicating the running of the tournament.
  • Ignoring a request for a rescheduling agreement with the purpose of forcing a default from one party.

Any offense made can be grounds for disqualification from the tournament. Should there be a need, the situation may also be escalated to osu! tournament staff.
