Whilst I am impressed this has been the only map so far available to be ranked, thought I’d shed some light on the situation for all parties involved.
This is both me saying this, as well as what i’ve taken from small discussions with committee members.
The map is fixed in terms of I have found a solution to nuke it with minimal changes to other maps (see below), but we are at this point holding off on changing things to prevent the headache of another deploy, as unlike last time, the ability to abuse rhythm is a bit harder then slapping 1/4 with funny patterns to abuse colour. This is still being discussed and may be subject to change, but at this point in time we will not deploying a fix unless 120 of these maps spawn in. (SUBJECT TO CHANGE !!!)
Again, this is in lieu of the fact that extensive discussion should still and will take place on how to handle these maps, but this will take time. I also encourage BN’s and players alike to always contact us for any issues or inquiries.
Absolutely no hate should be thrown to ler, there’s been full cooperation into finding issues and we will be working together in order to find solutions to prevent similar scenarios in the future. There’s no malicious behaviours on either end, the best way to fix something is to bring it to light.
End of the day this map is imo rankable and pretty fun to play, it’s up to the bns to decide the direction they would like to take the ranked section, that’s not my department.
That being said:
As a general for all mappers, when abuse maps are made, they require us to sacrifice things, in this instance, more complex snaps (1/12) and varying/ creative use of doublets and trips will get nerfed, nuked even. Thus resulting in a decrease across the board for maps that are generally considered underweight (i.e. sun and spirit, stinging nettles) and lovely i-LL maps. Whilst there will be a solution in the future, giving recognition towards complex maps only opens paths for abuse, and as such personally, my hands are tied at this point in time, so I won’t be putting any endeavours to give these maps recognition for the near future to prevent cases like this.
