Problem Details:
I've had problems connecting to Bancho for 3 days now, I tried reinstalling Osu! which set me back quite a while as it told me to check my internet connection (Which was fine) and refused to install for a while. After 10 tries alternating between the old and the new installer/launcher I got it installed again. but I still can't connect to bancho.
I also tried rebooting my internet, and PC. Installing Osu on another laptop yielded the same problem.

I asked a friend of mine who lives nearby if he had any issues with connecting to the online services but he didn't.

I don't know what else to try, any pointers would be much appreciated.

Hmm.. This is pretty odd.. Try opening CMD and type ping cho.ppy.sh to see if it indeed blocked your connection.
Have you added osu!.exe to your firewall whitelist? Firewall could be blocking it in this case.

Have you tried calling up your ISP and explain them this issue? Most ISP's have a live support to aid you in last case scenarios.

pinging worked with a responsetime of 170ms, I didn't see the program in my firewall settings so I added inbound and outbound rules to allow all connections.
Sadly I still have no connection to Bancho. I will try to call the ISP later to see if they can help me, if there's anything else I can try please let me know.

I've now contacted my ISP and all they asked me to do was to reset my modem, something I've already done to no avail.
I did try the suggestion in the post like you said ( https://osu.ppy.sh/community/forums/topics/647666 ) it didn't work sadly, Tried restarting my PC after changing the setting as well. that didn't work either.
I'm starting to lose hope here hahha. Thank you for the suggestion, any more would be appreciated

edit: I did also add inbound and outbound rules for the installer, it didnt' help

Are you using any other VPN or proxy? Or are you logged into the client on any other device?

I'm not using any VPN or proxy, however I tried installing Osu on two different windows laptops, neither of them allowed me to install as they both asked me to check my connection. It's worth mentioning that they were on different networks as well.

edit: forgot to mention, no I am not logged into any other device however I might be logged into the website on my school laptop, but I don't see why that should deny my installation on my laptops around the house or my desktop... :I

Being logged into the website is fine, just not the client.

If possible, switch to the Cutting Edge release stream, try to log in, and provide the network.log file inside your osu!\Logs folder.

I've switched to the cutting edge release stream (still not able to log in or connect to bancho), howeever I do not have a Logs folder inside the Osu! directory, I have a folder called Data with two empty sub folders called "bt" and "r" other than the folders called skins and songs.

I am also having a very similar problem with my osu on my new pc i just built. And i have followed all of the tips posted in this forum and the other one death has posted but unlike pipe i do have the network log but what do i do with the log to help resolve the issue. But i will post the log here if that is any help.

welp, I thought it was only a problem if someone else played on my user (seems unintuitive if I visited someone and tried playing on my user)
anyways, they managed to log in just fine, and connecting to a VPN routed to my own country (norway) allowed me to connect.

edit: any working proxy setting allows me to connect to bancho, I'm thinking it has to be my ISP blocking it...

edit: my ISP said that this sort of an issue is outside of their "support area" and that they can't help me
