as what i read i have to go to the old site and as i see it is gone so how can i set it now(the file is PNG)

PNGs with Alpha channels will not be supported forward so, no way to really do it.

I'm pretty sure they are actually supported at the moment as long as the image you are trying to upload does not need to be resize or compressed to fit within the file size limit.

I think the max dimensions are 256x256 and the max file size is something like 100mb. Anything else will cause the image to be converted to a jpg, thus losing its transparency.

I dont think that that is possible, since, to the best of my memory, it doesnt allow u to upload .png files, or of it does, it gets converted to a .jpg anyways. Dont take my opinion for granted, try it for yourself.

Resize to 128x128. Works everytime like a charm
