Hey, as requested.
[
General]
- Hitsound volume sound a bit low to me, +10% volume to all timing section seems better.
That's all
[
Easy]
Timing points00:08:286 - Make it 5% louder? This part sound louder than the part at 00:12:661 to me so don't see why same volume. Just noticed this now, but you can delete this and change the volume of the red line instead and set it to sc1, so this green line is unnecessary
00:52:286 - Unused timing point
00:52:786 - Make it 5% softer? Or increase the volume at kiai time. I think it's better if kiai time has the highest volume, just to emphasize it even more.
New combos01:00:911 (4) - I expected a new combo here because of 00:56:911 (1). I also noticed a one note combo here 00:48:911 (1), so new combo it even through it'll be only one note?
01:42:911 (3) - New combo on this just for more emphasis? It's fine if not through, but I think it'll give a nice effect here since the vocal sings in a different way here.
Hitsounds- In Hard, at 01:21:911 (3) and similar patterns, you put clap + whistle, but in Easy & Normal you didn't? Seem weird to me. Also in all diff, for example at , 00:11:411 (7) in Hard, even through it's almost the same sound as 01:21:911, you didn't put whistle? Maybe look through it. I prefer not putting two hitsounds on the same spot, so I think you should remove whistle, but if you think it sounds good, that's fine too. I won't mention them in my mod through.
00:14:911 (2) - Whistle on repeat for bell sound?
00:30:911 (1) - Whistle at end for guitar? I think you've been following the guitar for your whistle most of the time like begin of 00:14:911 (2) or begin of 00:22:911 (3) for example.
00:35:911 (2) - I think you should put whistle at repeat for cymbal sound
00:50:911 (1) - Whistle for bell? Since I notice you haven't put whistle on any bell sound so far, maybe it's intentional? I think it sound good with the whistle through.
00:52:911 (1) - Whistle at end for bell sound
00:55:411 (1) - Cymbal sound so whistle?
00:56:911 (1) - Whistle at end, same as 00:52:911
00:59:411 (1) - Whistle, same as 00:55:411
01:02:911 (1) - Whistle at end, same reason as 00:52:911.
01:08:411 (3) - Whistle for bell sound?
01:08:911 (1) - Whistle at end, same reason as 00:52:911
01:22:911 (3) - The way the vocal is singing, make the repeat sound really accented to me, so maybe whistle on it?
01:24:911 (1) - Was expecting a hitsound here actually, maybe whistle since you did clap on the next note?
01:26:911 (3) - Same thing as 01:22:911, but the vocal doesn't sound as accented so maybe it's unnecessary here.
01:28:911 (1) - Same thing as 01:24:911, but it seem the music goes down a tone or two here, so maybe it doesn't fit.
01:31:661 (4) - Whistle at repeat, same reason as 01:22:911
01:36:911 (1) - Hihat sound so whistle at end?
01:38:911 (3) - Same thing as 01:22:911
01:40:911 (1) - Clap at end maybe?
01:45:661 (2) - On the begin and end, perhaps finish instead since I can hear quite clearly a cymbal sound.
Turn out longer then expected, a bit too lazy to mod hitsound now, so I won't mention them again
But almost all of these suggestions can be applied to Normal & Hard too so if you agree with them, check if you can do it in Normal and Hard too. I may still do a hitsound mod if I see a part where you can do something really interesting in Normal & Hard.
- I notice spacing is a bit inconsistent? I saw 0.8x/1.0x/1.2x and maybe others too. I'll assume they're intentional, but I can't seem to find out what you're trying to do with spacing. I thought maybe 1.2x spacing when you do 1/2, but I see 1/2 spaced to 1.0x, and then I see some part just completely space out to 1.2x. So I'm a little confuse, would appreciated if you can tell me what you're doing with the spacing.
00:50:911 (1) - I guess 1.0x to represent the pause? But I feel that beginners will definitely hit this too early, I had to really focus here just to not hit it early. Maybe 1.1x spacing if you really want to keep this.
01:31:661 (4) - Fix this spacing error?
Flawless rhythm and placement to me
But just confused about spacing.
[
Normal]
New combos01:02:911 (5,6,1) - Hmm, maybe do the same thing as Easy for new combos? So remove from (1) and add it to (5)?
01:44:411 (3,1,2,3,4) - Regardless of how many times I look at this part, I just feel new combo should be on 01:44:411 (3). And then remove from 01:45:411 (1) & add to 01:47:161 (3). Then maybe remove new combo from 01:42:911 (1), but it doesn't really fit with how you place the note, so not really sure. If you're willing to readjust a bit, I think this new combo pattern is better.
Timing points suggestions is the same as Easy, except don't remove 00:52:286. Hitsound, as mention too lazy, but may mention some.
- Same comment regarding spacing as in Easy.
- +1 hp for balanced hp drain? (Easy has 2, Hard has 6)
00:08:911 (2) - I think you should copy 00:10:661 (5), ctrl+J and H it and place it here. The transition from hitting (1) to (2) just doesn't feel smooth with how you place it right now.
http://puu.sh/qUtz. If you don't really want to do then just try to place it in a similar way which give off a similar flow. Slightly hard to explain, but right now, your placement feel like this ><, try to get it >> instead.
00:19:411 - Just seem weird to have nothing here, since in Easy, you have a long slider here, maybe add a slider / repeating slider here and end it on 00:19:911?
00:43:661 (2) - I think you should copy (3) and then do something like this
http://puu.sh/qUwI. Hard to explain again, but the slider shape of (2) doesn't feel right to me.
01:23:661 (5) - Expected a hitsound on the begin, maybe whistle? Feel empty without it.
01:27:661 (5) - ^
01:31:661 (5) - ^
01:39:661 (5) - ^ I didn't increase volume of all timing point by 10% yet, so maybe it'll feel better even without the whistle when you do that.
01:41:661 (2,3) - Should definitely follow the bell sound here, so end of (2) and begin & end of (3).
The map seem fine to me, but idk, maybe it's the slider velocity, but I feel the flow of the map is a little off. Could be just me through. Also recommend adding more whistle, it just felt empty sometime, but I think if you apply some suggestion from Easy and maybe add a few more where you think is correct, this problem will be fixed.
Recheck after short break & increasing volume of timing point by 10%Wow, increasing volume made a big difference for me, the map feel almost flawless for me now :S You can even ignore my suggestion for 00:08:911 & 00:43:661 as they don't bother me anymore. Here's a few more suggestion through.
00:55:161 (3) - May be just me, but I felt this slider sound off a bit, until I put the whistle on the repeat to follow the cymbal sound, then it felt better. Nevermind, you put whistle on 00:59:161 (3) so should do here too.
00:56:161 (4) - Curve this as well? Seem odd since you curved both slider here 00:59:161 (3,4).
01:00:161 (4) - Hm I prefer it like this
http://puu.sh/qURT01:07:411 (1) - Definitely a whistle at begin
01:12:411 (6) - Don't really like this stack to me, it's at the end of a slider so this mean the rhythm is weird, you click at 01:11:161 and then you need to wait 5/2 beats to hit next notes; basically off beat > on beat plus big space in the timeline between the first and second click (1/2 rhythm doesn't play that bad even through it's off beat > on beat or vice versa, but when there's a big space, it becomes much harder) and stacked (cannot read spacing) means you have to rely solely on approach rate and music. I think this isn't nice for Normal so I suggest spacing it out instead.
01:41:661 (2) - Whistle at begin perhaps? And maybe on (1) as well. Do this if you followed 01:41:661 (2,3). If you didn't follow it, I recommend adding atleast some hitosund here, sound empty without them.
Good map actually, increasing 10% volume is a must/highly recommended suggestion now
[
Hard]
New combos00:58:911 (3) - Expected a new combo here because of 00:55:661 (1).
01:11:411 (5) - You could do a new combo here if you want [mirror effect, 01:09:661 (2,3,4) - & 01:11:411 (1,2,3)]
01:19:661 (6) - Hmm, I think you should have new combo here. This one bothers me a lot even through I notice you aren't really following vocal for new combo because 01:16:911 (1,2,3,4,5) follow instrument, and 01:19:661 (6,7,8) follow vocal, a new combo just seem to make sense here for me. It's fine if you don't want to change through.
Timing points, the same as other diffs, but I notice two extra timing points (01:04:786 & 01:07:286), so just a apply what you think is right. 10% increase in volume for all timing points is highly recommended. Hitsound suggestion will be mixed with Normal mod.
- +1 od for perfectly balanced overall difficulty? (Easy has 2, Normal has 4).
00:19:161 (1,2,3) - I really think you need more whistle here. To follow bell sound, add whistle at end of (1), begin of (2) and begin of (3). To follow guitar, add one at end of (2). It just sound empty without it.
00:35:161 (2,3) - I think 3.0x jump is a bit too much for Hard, maybe reduce a bit. How about the same distant snap as 00:34:161 (6) so 2.75x instead?
00:49:661 (1,2,3) - Snap to 1.2x? (x:328 y:344), I felt it's too close to previous note and lead nicer to the jump pattern in the next combo.
00:51:161 (2,3) - I guess for consistency, snap to 2.75x as well? But very minor so not necessary.
00:59:411 (4) - Whistle at begin
01:17:411 (2) - ^
01:17:911 (3) - Whistle at end
Don't forget that hitsound suggestion from Easy and maybe Normal too applies here, I just mention the ones which I think are really necessary.
No problem with the maps, my only issue is hitsound, sound too soft for me especially the whistle and I think you should use whistle to follow bell sounds & hihat/cymbal in the music. When you don't, it just sound empty, good example is 00:19:161 in Hard. Almost all my suggestions are hitsound related so don't mind the long mod.
So star, I think this map is definitely rankable after looking at the hitsound a bit more.
Good luck holysoup!
