The default is ZXCV (in kddk form) but honestly, that's a little tough for me. I go the odd route with the binding SCNK, with S and K being katsus, and C and N being dons. I think it's cause I'm most used to the binding of the DS and 3DS taiko no tatsujins, but that's way more comfortable. So, what keybindings do you use? And how is it going for ya?
IsuuOsu
Ka- Z and .
Don- X and ,
it's pretty confortable

I've been changing a lot recently but as a DDKK player

VB (dons) NM (kats)

Just anywhere very close together to enable handswitching (example, left hand middle finger and right hand index finger on V and B for a long mono stream of red notes)
Player-
F= left rim
V= left centre
N= right centre
J= right rim

Feels pretty good I guess.

Personally I use ASKL (DDKK) but sometimes I find it more comfortable to use it like DKKD sometimes.

A S & ; ' (KDDK), sometimes A S ; ' as KKDD
vinn
1290 (KDDK)
i used this for as long as ive played and i find it comfortable, more because of how i rest my hands, it feels better up there than somewhere like the middle (i actually don't use homerow) or the bottom. of which recently i also moved my normal osu keybinds to the top (we, q is smoke)
i might try a DDKK layout soon and see how it goes. maybe.

I end up using zx rmb(right click)lmb(left click) in kddk. I just find using my mouse comfortable for my hand.

I use zx for katu and 45 (button on numberpad) for don. I do that because I don't like to have both of my hand near the same place.

mulraf
that moment when both your f and either your c or x key isn't working and you have to use
vb,. - ddkk
don't worry, german keyboard layout so not as weird as it would look like in us. but still..
Carmlillball
Kddk, qwop
But I am thinking about your idea. Maybe.
Ascrute
sxcf
Flan_Fan
fj for dons
dk for katsus

works for me

I used keybindings

Z X . /
K D D K
Reone
I play DDKK with s,d as dons and kl as kats
-Storm7-
I play ax.'(ddkk) on USA keyboard.
This works for me since the middle finger is raised(which makes it easier for me to do streams, bursts etc)
The spacing between the index and middle fingers on each hand is closest to perfect on that exact layout, changing any(or multiple) keys would be very uncomfortable.
I also preffer ddkk over kddk since it was confusing for me when I first started. Although I can start to see why pro players generally prefer kddk over ddkk(since dk kd patterns are impossible for me)...

KDDK - dfjk
I like having my index fingers on the tactile bumps of the f and j keys.
Public-Sama
AS KL played as DD KK respectively on a UK english keyboard

dfjk is the best

i use an SDVX controller because i'm weird, all white buttons KDDK
it's easier for me to go fast on SDVX mainly because the buttons are more spaced out, but i have to use index and ring fingers, which i got used to quickly
