transport Wacom tablet active area settings to a other tablet?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about buying a new Wacom tablet (using the ol' MTE-450A now) but ofcourse it would be pretty much a disaster if I end up with a different active area, So can anyone confirm that you can somehow measure/copy the same active area of your tablet to a new one?

If they're the same brand, wouldn't they have similar settings as to changing the active area? I don't know whether you can simply move it over per new tablet driver, but it sounds plausible since you're just buying a new tablet up, right?

If anything, you could print-screen or keep track of what your current active area is and try to emulate that on your new tablet. You should be able to get it at the same area.

That's what I thought, But the software I use to assign the active area is specifically for the Bamboo only. Besides that the tablet size is different so I'm not sure wether it'll be easy to emulate it. :/

this is your best option
the time spent on trying to emulate something is better spent on getting used to a new configuration

I don't know.. that depends on what level you play, if you ask me. It's not just a case of getting used to it if you have to do things like fast jumps etc.

its the same as changing your mouse sensitivity, youll get used to it eventually.

I think you could question wether it's ''getting used to it'' or actually having to re-learn the entire movement etc.

I really dunno, I just know i'd rather skip that part if i can :P

I think what everyone's trying to say is, with the time spent trying to export the settings over from one tablet to another, you would probably be better off fiddling with the settings of the new tablet, and adjusting it so that it's like the previous tablet's settings. It'll be quicker, and as long as your hand still uses roughly the same area of the tablet, it should be relatively painless. Heck. If you care so much, get a piece of paper, lay it on the tablet, and find out where the top left hand corner of the active area is, and the bottom right hand corner, making sure to mark it with a pencil or something. Make a rectangle from that and you're set! You have your active area.
