I still pray for Norway.

It's glad to know that the Scandinavian countries are taking that minute of silence. Shows how close countries can really be.

:o Didn't know this, good to know....

Well this is really tragic, I have to say both the bombing and summercamp massacre is absolutely terrifying.

I must say I'm glad that we haven't got any successful terrorist attack like that in Sweden, but I have to say I feel sad for Norway and hope they recover from this tragic event.

All my best wishes to you guys up there. Fighting.

Of course finnish media took a look at his hobbies and now there is shitstorm about violent videogames are bad for your brains etc etc.

And of course they compare it to our two finnishers who both played Battlefield. According to media, Battlefield is "a game where you have to kill as many enemies as fast as you can". What?

Little off-topic, but little on-topic.

Also, sorry for your friends.
Shael_old
Do you know the reason for this? Why did he do it?
Topic Starter
Danzai_old
Why:
He was planning to do this attack on the norwegian Labour Party for 9 years.
He even bought a farm, a bit far away to make the bomb in peace.

He claims, in his 1500 pages memeto that he is member of a large worldwide christian orginiaction against muslim world dominance or some shit like that.

The reason he attacked the youthcamp was to stop the "soon to be" politicans to... live.
Shael_old
does the guy live still?
OzzyOzrock
My God this is terrible ;_;

Saw a pic of the shooter walking along a river with like 5 dead bodies lying around in the newspaper this morning.

There are some pretty fucked up people in this world and shouldn't even be around.

I hope that "christian organisation" gets dismantled as fast as possible.
They've talked about it over here in France too, but too enough IMO.

Yes, It was not a suicide bomb and they caught him.

Well, I supposed they can't kill him - he's a lot more useful alive than dead.

Anyways this is pretty terrible. ><; My heart goes out to those affected by this, because this is pretty bad.

P.S. This isn't how Christianity is supposed to work. I swear that we should just rename each sect as their own religion, because this is ridiculous.

Always a tragedy going on somewhere and we are so quick we are to forget them after they happen, what a world we live in.

I will never understand why people do shit like that, it accomplishes nothing.

Terrorists operate under the philosophy "No press is bad press". Killing people and blowing things up gets them tons of press coverage.
-----
damn...heard the news 2 days ago, thought it was another random terrorist attack and never acturally pay attention after that until I found this post just now...
Dunno how to comment on this other than feeling awful...you were pretty brave with your confess thread earlier Danzai, I'm sure you have enough courage to get through this just fine...
CXu
mmyeah, what to say ._.
whymeman
If they really think killing people based on personal beliefs is a "good deed" to make a point, then something is really wrong with them...

I just saw it on the news a few days ago as well. Not something I wanted to hear, but sorry about your loss man... :|
maal
We Danes, condole for all your loss.

I alone, condole for your losses Danzai.

I am glad, that Scandinavia stands together, and actually shows respect.

Tragedy :o Norway will be in my prayers.
Mianki
I can't imagine what you're going through and I just can't comprehend why stuff like this happens.
My deepest thoughts to you and to all norwegians.

:( I would have been in the bombing if I hadnt decided to be lazy <.< durrr....
Nonetheless, what really bothers me, is that I heard the major of people rather cared more about Amy Winehouse.. Iunno why..

I'm not really sure what to say about this tragedy, I mean, What's Norway ever done to harm? I'm not old or anything but in my years I don't know of much it, and that this person even did this with cold blood, makes it even worse, to me.

Also, Danzai, I'm sorry for your loss. :( R.I.P to the people who died in Norway 22.07.2011.
Sallad4ever
I offer my condolences to the victim's family, there's really nothing much I can do except this.

Nothing can justifies a terrorism attack. NOTHING
If that shit use any excuse to cover his act, that's a total bs. Death penalty is way to light punishment for him.
D33d
It's ridiculous that somebody would have the cold-faced gall to carry out such an attack. It's absolutely despicable. This fundie cunt deserves to be humiliated and tortured in every way possible. I'm sure that nobody in their right mind would object to that.

Danzai, I'm shocked that you've lost some people who are close to you. My deepest condolences. If you want to talk, then I'm always kicking about.
Firo Prochainezo
My deepest condolences for Norway.
Fight69
God, this is just awful, I don't even know what to say...

My deepest condolences.

The tragedy is such a horrifying act of evil that I have no words to describe it. No man can really comprehend what an enormous tragedy the manslaughter of some of the finest youth Norway has to offer really is. But I believe I speak for all Norwegians when I say that the love and support from the entire world community really has meant a lot.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in this coming from someone named Backstabber?

BTW I want your babies.

I would. Responding to inhumane depravity with inhumane depravity doesn't make you any better just because your kill count is lower.

Regardless, in Australia, I believe it's been a full week where this was featured on the front page of our newspaper (At least Herald Sun and The Age) and it's real shocking to hear about it. I'm sorry to hear about it, Danzai.

Tragic incident, I felt really sad when I heard the news.
Let us pray for the souls.

--------
Criminal was extreme christian fundamentalist, far-far-rightist, as I heard.
Jesus said "Love Your Enemies"(Luke 6:27), but seems all he had was just hatred toward the people who have different thoughts, unfortunatly...
Ikillforpies
i was really sad when i heard this news.
Let us pray for the family who lost there love one and pray for the country and also pray for the souls that have been lost
A8mew
My condolences for your loss.

The news coverage I've seen has been... less than enlightening. Mostly news over here was claiming it was Al Qaeda or other muslim extremists, or issuing retractions for incorrectly reporting it as Al Qaeda or other muslim extremists. Not a whole lot of focus on the actual loss people experienced.
Mystgun
This is devastating, I will include this in my prayers. My condolences.

Are you serious? Wasn't this guy killing Muslims and such because he didn't like Europe being so multi-cultural?

I think the worst part of this is, we're pretty much going through the motions at this point. Moving from one tragedy to the next, with the same responses around the board.

Too bad the shooter will spend his jail time in luxury, http://news.yahoo.com/photos/inside-the ... how/#crsl=

Some more info:
As most know, the longest jail time in norway is 21 years.
However, this guy might be prosecuted with "Crimes against humanity" and can look on a 30 year long jail time.
If this happens, it will be the strongest jail punishment in norwegians new time history.

After 21 years a council will evaluate if he is still a danger to society. If they come to that conclusion he will have another 5 years. After that they will have another evaluation etc. etc.

Many condoleances to you and Norwegians who lost a relative...

I heard on the news some things like :
His father lives in France, especially in Aude (I think) and the Norwegian TV had an interview from him... He has never seen his child for 17 years (I thought I heard 17 but if I am wrong, correct me.) He said that he was a normal adolescent. (Well it was the last words I heard on the report.)
A girl and her mother exchanging SMS when this was happening..
Again, my deepest condolences for those who lost a relative.. How many families are destroyed now ? >.<

(Really, before this I started to think it was a very bad year. This confirmed my thoughts.)
Lizzehb
People need to just stop killing people. As someone who dealt with death/suicide stuff in the past, killing the innocent is just stupid. Those innocent people were just going about their lives. Killing is dumb 99.9% of the time. There are so many other things that can attract attention. Stupid people....

Also my condolences to not just Norway, but EVERYONE on the planet who has suffered an innocent love one's death.

[quote="http://www.bt.no/nyheter/lokalt/--Breivik-ser-p-seg-selv-som-Gud--2547421.html":16aeb]Magnus Ranstorp
  1. Research Director at the Swedish National Defence College
  2. Has worked as terrorist consultant for CNN, the USA and several other countries
  3. Has researched terrorism for over 20 years
  4. Specialist on the subject of Islamic extremism
Ranstorp claims that Breivik's manifesto reveals his true personality:

Claims to be: Serious
Manifesto reveals: Childishness

"He tries so hard to be serious that parts of the text almost seem infantile. The text is permeated by a combination of self-exaltation and self-pity. In his detailed diary he writes: 'This log contains much that could be perceived as "complaining", but it's only meant to describe my mental state during my stay here, act as a detailed diary, and explain how I managed to overcome the obstacles I encountered along the way.' In the photographs where Breivik poses in costumes and homemade uniforms, he appears as childish and self-absorbed."

Claims to be: Intellectual
The text reveals: Anti-intellectualism

"He suffers from an extreme inferiority complex over his lack of education. He writes, 'I care little about prestige, and even less about the opportunity to work for government approved, politically correct companies. I therefore had no motivation at all to invest so many resources on formalized education within the fields that interested me.' He wields an academic language he hasn't completely mastered, and reveals his lack of ability to debate."

Claims to be: Innovator
The text reveals: Cutting and pasting

The declaration says, for example: "When we speak of cultural Marxism in this article, we think primarily of individuals who support multiculturalism, socialism, collectivism, political correctness, feminists and gays, as well as activists for disability rights, animal rights and the environment, etc." Breivik wants to be a trendsetter who initiates some kind of new crusade against Islam, but has copied texts from Ted Kaczynski and other right-wing extremist forces.

Claims to be: Anti-Islamic
The text reveals: Admiration of jihadism

"He looks up to something he simultaneously despises. It is in many ways ironic that he has copied both the role of the martyr, and the proportionality of revenge. In the text, he admits that it feels wrong to take inspiration from the jihadists, but that they after all have been successful in several areas."

Wants to be: Commander of the Earth
Manifesto paints him as: Captain of a spaceship

"He's like the captain of a spaceship, buzzing around in space. He has created his own little universe that has little to do with reality. In many ways, Breivik lives his life online. On the Internet, he has been able to live out his fantasies of warfare without consequences, and he has become more and more immersed in this universe."

Claims to be: Guardian of truth
The text reveals: Mythomania

"He brags a lot about himself and his amazing life, and his '7000 patriotic Facebook friends.' In retrospect, we've learned that he faked the CV and lied about both income and lifestyle. I see clear signs in the text that he fails to distinguish between fantasy and reality. He signs his messages with the title 'Justiciar Knight Commander for Knights Templar Europe, and one of several leaders of the National and pan-European Patriotic Resistance Movement.' He lies so much, he's even fooling himself."

Claims to be: Idealist
The text reveals: Narcissism

"He expresses his wishes that the manifesto will start a crusade against Islam. Nevertheless, he overshadows his case with his own persona, and overpolishes his halo to the extreme. He says, among other things, that 'few other people have enough self-knowledge, and ideological and moral confidence to sacrifice themselves for their fellow countrymen, on their own initiative, without having a gun to their head.' In addition, he speaks of the great expense of the terrorist attack, but says he requires nothing in return, as the crusade is his gift to the people."

Claims to be: Analyst
The text reveals: Brainwashing

"His argument reveals a total lack of ability for critical thinking. The ideology he stands for devours him raw, and he never questions it. He would have developed the ability to critically analyze had he gone to university and participated in public debates. Instead, he's been sitting by himself in isolation, cooking up ideas."

I am, very sadly, completely serious. It wasn't the entirety of US News stating it, but lots of conservative papers/Fox jumped the gun on saying its a muslim.

After vicious backpedaling, they then insulted "liberals" for focusing too much on him being a Christian, because no true Christian would ever carry out such an atrocity. (That no true Muslim would either is, of course, ignored for the sake of ratings.)
