Do you think slidertick is an important part in hitsounds?

Yes, I think it's really important, the choice of tick rate should be based on the hitsound effects.

Probably, it's important for most of the time, a nice choice of tick rate could make me feel better.

Not really, in fact i don't mind how it sounds. It may be more useful with slider speed changes.

No, the only use of sliderticks should be its indication of slider speed change.

Slidertick topic #2, curious again.

I do think a nice choice of tick rate feels better with the song, problem is mappers rarely use a nice choice of tick rate, specially when tick rate 2 fits way better than 0.5

Slider ticks are like a little mini-metronome that keeps time during sliders so that the pace isn't broken. It should tick at the same speed as the fastest regularly repeating rhythm in the music. It's important that they blend in, but not so much that they can't be heard.

None of the poll options really suit my views.

Doesn't REEEEEEEALLY matter to me, but a nice choice is always better.

Somewhere between first and second option? I choose my tick rate based on how the slider ticks sound in the song, but they're not like the ONLY important thing :P

I'd give them more priority to be used for hitsounds rather than as a guide for slider speed changes.

I think it is important for long sliders :)

It all depends on the song. If used correctly, they'll really make a map more memorable, though not so much that they can't be distinguished from the song itself.

Perfect example of why slider ticks can be useful.

Otherwise, I simply ignore them, and find them a nuisance when I lose combo in a middle of a slider.

i think the most important things about slidertick is
"more combo" ...

I never hear them unless a clap or something is thrown on it. Or if it's a long slider with tickrate 2x or something like that. Either way if I do manage to hear them I just find it annoying because that usually means other sounds have been put onto it.

I think that sliderticks should be used for hitsounds, but I generally think that having too many of them (e.g. anything above 1, and even 1 in some cases) just makes it sound way too cluttered and not good at all (quite bad, actually). There are some cases where tick rates above 1 work better than tick rate 1, but IMO they are few and far between...

Sliderticks are part of the music. I usually mentally equate them to a closed hi-hat

As a rule, if I change the slidertick hitsound, or add custom hitsounds to the slider tick, I mix in the default/custom slidertick sound as well so that any extra hitsound is simply extra, and does not replace the all important slider tick hitsound.

It's the same to me as switching hitnormal midway through the song, which is why a lot of moonfragrance's DJMAX songs, while awesome, do not play well for me. The removal of the snare hitnormal or hi hat hitnormal which I expect on every circle is removed suddenly, and it causes confusion.

Also, "tick rate" has nothing to do with hitsounds. I'm not 100% certain I know what the poll is about due to the language barrier.

here is a example for a map with alot of slider ticks
i think it fits good for the hitsound..

(old map i know)

I think it feels good when you hold a long slider and can listen to the tick rate. it is very nice in the middle of a song. but alot of people dont use this anymore now
