New name for #modhelp

there are at least one or two people who go to #modhelp saying stuff like 'any gmt on tonight? I need help with a technical issue' or something like 'I need help with something wrong'


the name '#modhelp' is quite misleading, it would be better called as '#beatmaps' or '#mappinghelp' or #memehell or #memehelp rather then what we already have.

The name as we have it now is not just misleading, but doesn't make much sense: the current term for a beatmap 'mod' is when someone runs down suggestions to your map, and overall the best place to request mods is #modreqs, and a lot of QAT or GMT (or just other helpful people / backseat modders) will say something to someone who is requesting mods in #MODhelp something like 'go to #modreqs [username]'

Maybe we can see more name morphs and changes, but the channel did used to be called #mod. Then as #mod kept getting inundated with requests alongside discussion, the suggestion was made to split the two channels.

I don't know if we'll anticipate seeing any change, since the notion of mod outside forum moderation is a very concise and short term to describe advice regarding mapping and the ranking process overall. #modhelp is a channel facilitating public discussion of that, while #modreqs is just a request dump. Understandably that little confusion with the moderation staff makes sense with newer users.

Though wouldn't channel descriptions attempt to alleviate a lot of those confusions anyway? :?

Modhelp sounds like "I want to mod, but I don't know how"

#mapping could be a good idea. I know that in the past the name was something like #mappingHelp or something along those lines.
I have no idea what reasons made peppy change the name into #modhelp honestly, but I guess channel description is good enough to clear any doubts. If people doesn't check that what can we do...

I would honestly prefer #mapping over what we already have, like bara- said
