Would be nice to have.

Since the Finnish do have an own thread, and the activity in all of the Scandinavian countries are nearly equal, I don't see why not.
Try getting more Norwegians to post here to show the activity of the Norwegian community

well, you already have 77
i think the reason for scandinavians having a common forum is that their languanges are so similar that some even say that they are basically just dialects.
however if you want so, i dont see a reason to not do this.
also finland having its own has nothing to do with this, we are not a scandinavian country nor is our languange scandinavian.

WAIT WHAT
Are you telling me Finland is not Scandinavian?
My teachers have always lied to me then ;-;

it is a very confusing thing, i know.
most outsiders do talk of finland too when they mean scandinavia, however that is incorrect, and they use it because you dont really have such words as "pohjoismaat" (northern countries) which we use to talk of scandinavia and finland.
when it comes to the area of the country, a small part of northern finland belongs to the scandinavian peninsula.
when it comes to culture and languange, finland is far from scandinavian.
finland and the scandinavian peninsula make up Fenno-scandinavia or whatever its called in english.
its a very understandable mistake i thought finland was in scandinavia until i was 12
EDIT: rip grammar. not gonna even try to fix this

It's not that simple.

Most danish people barely understand swedish, but they can understand norwegian pretty ok.
Swedish people can understand norwegians, but not danes.
Norwegians can understand everyone. There should honestly be one board for each language imo.

Almost no one uses the Scandinavian subforum as it is right now. I doubt there's any need for separate subforums for each language. Also, written language is generally much easier to understand for everyone, and if all else fails, most Scandinavians are pretty good at English anyway so there's no real reason to separate them.

I don't think the Norwegian community is active enough to warrant their own subforum, especially since even with three countries together the Scandinavian forum is still very dead. We'll see where the community goes in a couple of years, perhaps.
