Hi!

First a little bit about me. I started playing Osu!standard almost 2 years ago. And I started playing mania "seriously" about 2 months ago. In the beginning everything was very hard but I practised and practised. Now I have hit a wall at 2 stars.

The main problem I have is when there are too many notes on the screen my brain cant make my fingers press the buttons they should. My brain and eyes gets messed up. This problem occur when there are sliders and single notes mixed together. This sometimes happens when single notes and double notes are mixed together aswell.

I really need help with this because I can easily clear 1.8-1.9 stars with about 900k score. But when I move up to 2+ stars I cant do good on them. (because of all these mixed notes.) Does this get easier with more playtime? Is there an easy way to read these "cases".

Thanks for any answers^^

BTW sorry for the picture cant remove it:(

I've only really played mania for about a month now and I just play harder maps with HT and it helps me learn new patterns.

But I didn't need to do that until those maps were above 3.00* with HT so I don't know about you.

2 months is very new to mania. It takes longer than that to learn the muscle memory. You really just need to keep playing. Try to find as many different maps that cause this problem you can, and play them regularly. Don't grind them, just make sure to play them a bit more often than you usually do.

Totally agree.

I remember once when i was playing two stars that i could only A.
Well, for the most part it stuck there for me until i started to playing them with ease, maybe you can try three stars when you can 98%-97% two stars
top players can read alot harder maps than what they can press on their fingers, for you it also might be because you don't have a proper skin, if you use a default skin i'd suggest switching from that and find a more suitable skin to use for mania, here i'll list a few skins for you:

Halogen-'s skin (arrows Stepmania downscroll)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/daaj0vlvkesft ... l.osk?dl=0

jhlee0133's skin (bars o2jam)
http://puu.sh/kkIMp.osk

Inteliser's skin (bars pop'n style)
http://puu.sh/oZpvb.osk

leqek's skin (bars)
http://puu.sh/omKDh.osk

Lastly, it might be because of scroll speed, if you feel that it's too slow for you raising it just a tad might help because as you advance more in the game slow scroll speeds might not be enough for timing/reading so i hope this helps!

most people i talked to got to over 4* in 3 monthes (including me but i played 24/7) though

Do not rely on star rating as a point of assessment in ability. It proves to be ineffective rather quickly.

Look at maps and figure out where your trouble spots are, then analyze them - try to figure out what it is you're having trouble with. If you can't do stream, why can't you do it? Are you truly inhibited by speed, or is the reading an issue? Is the density too strong? Once you've figured that out, you can either seek maps that might be of use to you for training, or, you could take the better route and use the osu!mania editor to custom-tailor something for yourself.

Not everyone learns at that kind of speed. I've been playing vsrgs for over 13 years. It took me 3 months to pass level 10 stuff in o2jam, and I don't even want to think about how long it took me to get decent at stepmania before that. So yes, 2 months is very new.

My experience is consistent with nadav's after about a month (Only a few S on 4* mainly near 3.5), but he did say playing nearly 24/7.

Played for 2 months reaches 4.6k pp :') (used to play guitar hero :>)
Just keep trying to play them, once you play with them long enough you then will be able to play them cause you brain starts to adjust.
It takes more than 2 months to be able to play 3 stars with moderate skill
