So I feel this would be a great quality of life improvement for many players and here is why.
When I play this game with my friends we like to talk while we are waiting in the lobby using third party voice chat. This is done fairly often in a variety of games with multiplayer included. It would make it easier to have an option for separate volume levels in song and in lobby so that it is easier to hear people using voice chat. Currently every time me and my friends finish a song we have to lower our volume greatly then when we go back in song we have to scroll it back up quickly before the song starts.
Another reason is that when I boot up the game or am choosing a song if I do not put my volume down I get blasted by sound. This is sense I keep the game pretty loud since I feel it is more fun to play that way, but in the menus it is just a bit of a pain.
Anyway please consider making this quality of life improvement to the game.
Thanks!

So just to clarify the idea is to have one master sound slider in the main options menu that would allow you change the percentage sound volume of music in the menus. For example if you have your master volume slider set to 30 then the menus sound volume would play at 30 percent of the sound level as your in game music. If you have it set to 100 percent it would work exactly as it does now.

I feel like ot's a dupe, but the Only thing I found is t/143013?hilit=Volume+menu (which is for effect volume, not for master/song volume)

Yeah I don't really mind the effect volume between menus and the game its mostly that i wish there was a separate sound slider for master volume in menus that does not effect the volume in song. I can see the similarities, but i feel as though its a different issue. I really have not posted much before on the site so thanks for replying though.

In a lobby, there is a pause button in the top right that pauses the song.

There is but if you are choosing a song, opening the game, a new song is chosen, or you finished playing a song you got to pause again the idea is it would be a slider that would cover the sound in all the menus and you can keep it at that volume a selected value at all times. Also don't you thinks its nice to still have some low music in the background while your in menus?
Like i said this is just something I think would be a good quality of life improvement to the game as a whole.
I appreciate your input though.

Also, alt scroll changes volume, you can change it easily that way (but constantly doing it might be a bit annoying)

If you really insisted you could just lower the volume of your respective menu-soundfiles.
Personally I don't think this is really needed as menu sounds give me a good indicator how high/low my volume is before playing as there is a sufficient amount of places where you change your sound volume(boxes, windows, osu!).

Personally I don't think that this should be added because you can pause the song, or just use the scroll to turn down the song.
If this were added, I would imagine that it would be pretty low priority.

He talks about the song volumes, not effect volumes

Exactly what i mean it is annoying. Particularly when using voice chat that is why i think it would be nice to have the option. Plus I can't really see a down side to having an extra volume slider more options is always better imo.

If you add sliders and buttons for everything, eventually it gets too cluttered. Not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, but that is a potential down-side to having extra things added.

I mean i see where your coming from, but I feel as thought this is an option that you can keep only in the main options menu and i think there only needs to be one master volume for menus slider. It does not need to be on the alt scroll circles that you have in the lobby. The idea I suppose would be to have a master volume that gives you a percentage of your main volume. So if you for example set your master menu volume to 30 percent in the main options menu it your menu volume would be 30 percent of your in song volume. This way it does not clutter the HUD and effect the game play. The whole idea is that you do not have to change your volume around every time you go in and out of a song so this does not need to be an option you change on the fly. Also if you like the way things are you can simply keep master menu volume slider at 100 percent and then it would basically be exactly the way things are now with minimum clutter added to the game and no negative impact to the game play.

That isn't going to accomplish anything... It will get the attention it deserves

I guess I do not understand how asking for a volume slider(for a music game) accomplishes nothing if you have some criticism to add to the idea then I will be willing to listen.

I think he was adressing the bump.
Laxxer
can't you just press ctrl + o in multiplayer lobbies and lower volume?
