Rebirth:

00:40:663 (1) - 1/4 forward fits better.
00:55:667 (6) - And 1/8 forward here.

Lunearica:

Resnap break things, they seem to be a bit off.

01:54:320 (6) - The sharp bend with the red point seems meaningless and detracts from the quality of the slider.
02:41:379 (1) - Remove new combo. Seperation from the previous one serves no coherent purpose in my eyes.
03:04:908 (1,1,1,1) - The sudden jumps and combo shifts aren't particularly gruesome, but aren't a recurring element throughout this map, so it seems odd to start it now.
03:18:889 (6) - It would be beneficial to put a new combo here or on the next object to seperate it from the stream.
03:35:258 (2) - I don't understand why a new combo is not here instead of being on the previous object.
04:00:151 (3,4) - Oh lord, what happened to spacing here? Seems like a random change again.
05:54:209 (1) - Snap to the next timing section.

I still think the artist just should be Shounen Radio.

The third and fourth combo colour almost feel like the same as the first and second one but brighter even if they are different colours.
I would think it would be a good idea to make those colours a bit more different from the first and second one.

The source is just wrong, I'm guessing it's the album it comes from but as this comes originally from the benami series, Benami, Dance Dance Revolution or Beatmania IIDX.

It felt like you could SB a bit more, It's quite boring that over 50% of the playtime it's just a black screen.
Also, just a suggesting but I think you should fade the BG at 05:56:780.

It's a bit weird that you at some parts around here try to get spot on and some others not.

01:02:487 - 01:48:182 - The spacing felt quite low here considering that the start had much wider spacing but has around the same feeling speed wise and the part after has much much wider spacing even if it is mostly the same thing.

02:40:015 (13,14,15) - Move down 3 grids? (Level 4)

02:57:065 - 03:09:682 - I would say something like 1,25x would fit much better than 1x here.

03:27:756 (1,2,3,4,5) - This spacing caught me off guard as I though it was 1/1 between (2) and (3) and 1/1 between (4) and (5).

03:50:262 (10) - I'm guessing this not having a new combo is intentional right. (It's kinda neat.

For being supposed to be a extended replica of Mystearica's version it sure is different at the extra parts :|

First, the sliders are far more curved than in the original. The Another difficulty has only three sliders with more than 2 slider points and they all were wave sliders (And none of them ever had red points) making stuff like 01:21:583, 01:57:389 and 02:04:891 look quite out of place.

What's with the low stacking latency? It's not even in the original.

00:57:031 (1) - I know that you are trying to be neat with the volume going down but it's kinda boring and feels nothing like the original.

Ok, not that bad of a map, I can barely play the fast part at all because I suck but I like the whole big buildup part.

It's also listed in VGMDB as "Remixed by Shounen Radio" Shonen and Shounen are two correct pronounciations.
And yes, milestone is the album it is featured on. I used it as source because the full version came before the Beatmania EDIT, regardless if searching up "milestone" only gives this map as a result. I imagine not a lot of people know of that album. Snow Storm original mix is also included in it :3

ugh. I can play either well enough to test how accurate the beat is. Maybe it's just the difficulty 8 doing it to me, but stuff is off, and I can't help.

start your new combos on beat 1 unless the stream ends on beat 1.
Is there some rule that I don't know about which prevents you from replacing sliderslide with a blank wav? That's essentially what you're doing with all those timing sections. I'll never understand the people who use timing sections for their hitsounds and random volume control.
05:18:253 - double check all your streams, make sure they end at the right spot.

there's a reason beatmania didn't map the whole song. Sorry, I can't be of much help. There is a stepmania version, but I don't know how accurate their timing is.

Maybe consider raising the volume of the sections in the beginning part, they are really quiet.
Stack leniency in both diffs is different; I think you should adjust them the same.
Consider reducing the overall difficulty to allow a bigger tolerance in mistimed hits. (Slow songs or in this case slow parts of a song need this because its hard for people to be 100% accurate on them)


[Timing]
1st offset in both difficulty differs; In Rebirth its Offset is 13.111 and in Lunearica the Offset is 13.107
Putting a 0,5x BPM section on top of a red bpm section is unrankable. -> It's in the Lunearica diff at offset 13.107

Use this offset for the first red BPM section : 13.135
Use this offset for BPM 175,950 / 35.207 section : 35.255

I am not really sure on this but I think you need to add a red bpm section here; (feel free to ignore though)
  • Offset 57.075 BPM 175,950

almost the first half of the song lunearica is the most boring map i've seen, i would delete the first 2 minutes of lunearica map, rebirth is good.

Hello. Awesome song, sb, map and you!
Okay, just some thoughts after playing this:

throughout the map i got confused only once, here 03:11:744 (4,5,6). not sure if i even had to mention this.
04:08:010 - starting here, why not increase/decrease volume a bit each time a fret is changed?
05:09:959 (1) - sliders like this, uhh.. do you think you can leave them since it's for approval? remember this?
05:31:182 (1,2) - these two sliders are kinda hard to follow since you can clearly hear the melody starting only at 3rd slider.

Really amazing map.

Heya there faust.

I was listening to this song on the way to work today, and decided it's absolutely awesome (though kick your A is better). I remember you had asked me to mod this/look at it, so here's a caustic mod. The definition of a caustic mod is an overly critical mod designed to point out even the slightest problems with the map, which hopefully will give you at least a few different rhythms/spacings to try out. I can only give them out to maps/songs I really like. I hope the length of the mod doesn't cause you mental anguish. If it does, just ignore it ;).

I didn't put a lot of description as to why I suggested the changes I did. For that it either goes into a whole thing about music theory, or me being very stubborn. If you have any questions, I'll watch the topic, but better yet, give me kudos when you're done with the mod (if you use any of it that is) and I'll be able to answer any questions you have. or just PM me. Whatever.

00:13:776 (3) - not feeling the beat drop here. shorten it and put a circle on the downbeat.
00:24:685 - add note. Switching back and forth between parts is always a bad idea. map it all.
00:17:526 (8) - delete, make (7) a repeating slider or go all the way to where (1) is currently so the repeat doesn't map nothing.
00:30:822 (4,5,6) - delete
00:31:163 - add
00:31:674 - add
00:36:575 - add repeating slider. yes we have 2 fingers. Also fix the SB in this section
00:40:751 (1) - 1/8 later
00:41:987 - add
00:42:029 (2) - make this repeating slider

00:52:981 - add reset metronome. It would probably be good to put a reset on each note actually.
01:15:140 (6,7) - split this into 2 even sliders
01:20:254 (3,4,5) - circle slider slider
01:32:185 - I consider this note to be of utmost importance. Try not to slide over it. The one before it isn't that important.
02:11:049 (1) - delete
02:11:731 (7) - 1/2 shorter
02:12:413 (8,12) - I think a normal hitsound for these notes (quiet of course) would make it very nice, and match the soft bass drum hit. If you do, there's a lot of them earlier to be mapped.
02:21:617 (1) - now you're just trolling.
02:29:117 (7) - oh to have hold notes. Maybe drag a slow slider out to 02:29:628 and make the end quiet/soft.
02:32:526 (5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3,4,5,6) - intensity building = increasing spacing!
02:34:234 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - don't make these notes any quieter than they have to be, and make them all the same sound. If there is a crescendo, it's so slight it doesn't matter.
02:37:644 - remember what I said about this note earlier?
02:49:579 (2) - add repeat
02:49:920 (3) - put circle on end
02:50:602 (5) - move over 1 beat, add repeat on (4)
02:54:353 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - These are in groups of 6. I recommend 4 circles and a slider, or repeating slider circle slider.
03:13:449 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - Grouping is: 6,4,4,4,6. I would recommend taking off the slider on the end too.
03:21:633 (1,3) - repeating sliders. keep the beat
03:24:361 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - you got the right grouping here (4) but the jump/move in the middle sorta ruins the flow.
03:28:283 (4,5) - argh. repeating sliders. and put a circle on the end.
03:30:499 (3,4) - make these circles. The pattern here has the first 2 notes repeating, so you should stack the first two. the 3rd and 4th note in the pattern can be a slider, or whatever.
03:34:592 (5,6,7,8) - these are fine
03:36:126 (2) - delete
03:36:808 - delete
03:39:366 (9) - the pattern that begins here repeats over and over again. It would be nice to show that in the beat placement. perfect time for copy/paste/rotate by 25 degrees.
04:02:554 (1) - this section is too loud. Use the same volume the whole way through. 15-20%
04:50:251 (9,10) - slider
04:50:810 - no breaks. Full force stream
04:52:725 (1) - starting here, you can hear the pattern of 4. Put 4 groups of 4 with jumps in between
04:54:640 (8) - new combo
04:55:517 - add a note on these 1/4s
04:59:427 (8) - I do believe this is 1/6
05:02:937 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17) - make the stream follow the pitch of the piano?
05:05:730 - add note
05:05:810 (2) - a couple sliders here are on 1/3 and should be on 1/4
05:07:246 (8,9) - extend to 1/2
05:08:922 - again, don't just leave out a note.
05:09:959 (12) - lol okay
05:18:017 - argh.
05:18:257 (1) - extend out to 1/1
05:18:815 - add
05:18:895 (5) - not snapped right, but I think 3 stacked 1/2 circles here would be better
05:27:193 (5) - start the sliders here or at least a new combo
05:27:352 (1,2) - these are both offbeat. Just making 1 offbeat would be better, preferably the second one.
05:28:789 (1) - 4 circles instead
05:31:182 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - 1/4 later
05:38:523 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15) - map the piano instead. it's not a boring old stream this time.
05:43:789 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,1) - double check this. You did a bad job. I would do 4 circles and a 1/2 slider
05:48:815 - argh.
05:49:533 (9) - new combo. Or make this all one combo.
05:56:825 (1,2,3,4,5) - use sliders.
06:09:440 (1,2) - slider.
