My end of a M4M
WALL OF BLANKETS INCDiff: [Insane]- Not really a point, but I'll say it was very pleasant to play.
- Very dark combo colour on a fairly dark background can cause issues to some players
- 00:02:414 (1) - Some of these sliders look a bit funny to me. The ideas are good, but you should consider re-shaping some of them. This is obviously very subjective, so take it with a grain of salt.
- 00:04:524 (4,6) - Blanket (I noticed a lot of these, brace yourself.) In case you don't know how to do blankets accurately, I'll explain it in the box below.
SPOILER1. place the object you want to blanket the slider with, and said slider (obviously)
2. set beat snap divisor to maximum so you can scroll the timeline very accurately
3. scroll in the timeline so that you can see the circle's approach circle right next to (but preferably not on top of) the slider track's side, going along it.
4. Set snap divisor back to whatever you used for the slider
5. adjust the slider until it goes evenly along the approach circle
6. enjoy the drastically improved visual quality of your map
- Don't be afraid to temporarily move some circles on the timeline to use them for blanketing purposes, just remember to put them back to their own timing afterwards
- In this case you'll need to move 00:04:524 (4) - on the timeline closer to 00:05:227 (6) - in order to have both visible at the same time, then do steps from 2. to 4. and afterwards move the circle back to it's original timing.
- 00:07:102 (3) - Remember to change this to the blanketed version you've (hopefully) made in the previous point~
- 00:08:040 (6) - Again something I found to look a bit odd, but once again subjective and the idea is very good. I won't point out more of these, you probably got the idea already =D
- 00:08:743 (7,8) - Blanket
- 00:09:680 (9,1) - Maybe consider moving these on top of the end of 00:08:040 (6) - for structure? Just throwing it out there, not essential at all.
- 00:10:383 (2,3) - Blanket ~
- 00:12:727 (6) - Consider making the last note of this repeat slider a circle instead; I think the piano hit there deserves more emphasis than just a sliderend
- 00:16:009 (6,7) - Consider blanketing 00:16:477 (7) - with the end of 00:16:009 (6) -
- 00:19:759 (4,5) - Blanket
- 00:21:634 (2,3) - ^ just a slight adjustment this time though
- 00:23:978 (5,6) - ^
- 00:25:384 (2,3) - ^ again a slight adjustment
- 00:27:259 (4,5) - ^
- 00:36:869 (6,7) - ^ just a bit of adjustment again
- 00:41:791 (1,3) - ^ Yup, told you to brace yourself
- 00:47:885 (6,7) - Consider blanketing, although not essential if that isn't what you were going for
- 00:50:228 (3,5) - Another blanket
- 00:52:572 (4,1) - I've ran out of different ways to say blanket
- 00:53:041 (1,2,3,4) - I think this pattern would be (visually) better if you made it into a cross-square, like so.
Image link- 00:55:853 (4,5,6,7) - Kind of same, but you obviously don't have to re-use the exact same pattern several times. Again, just a visual issue.
- 01:02:885 (6,7) - Adjust this blanket
- 01:04:760 (2,3) - ^
- 01:07:104 (3) - move to x:404 y:289 for better blanket
- 01:07:104 (3,4) - Some blanket adjustment again
- 01:13:432 (5) - Whistle ??? Either make a custom sound for this or use some other sound.
- 01:17:417 (1,2) - Blanket
- 01:18:354 (3,4) - Blanket
- 01:20:698 (6) - Consider flipping this around (ctrl+g) for more even spacing, as there's no real need for a jump this big at this point
- 01:23:745 (2,3) - I kind of disagree with this jump as well; the mapping previous to this has been even spacing for these beats, so a jump here doesn't make much sense to me.
- 01:24:682 (6,1) - This jump is small enough to be fine, I think, although I also think this bit could be made to flow better. Up to you, though.
- 01:28:667 (1) - Again, would flip around to feel more consistent
- 01:33:355 (3,4) - This felt very good to play, might want to emphasize with some hitsounding magic at the sliderends though
- 01:37:573 (6,1) - Blanket
- 01:39:448 (6,1) - ^
- 01:45:074 (5,1) - ^
- 01:54:449 (6,1) - Maybe blanket? Not essential.
- 01:58:199 (6,1) - Slight blanket adjustment
- 02:02:418 (1,2,3,4) - Consider putting circles on the blue ticks, if it doesn't end up too difficult to read/play.
- 02:06:402 (4,5) - This spacing feels a bit big, and the spacing between 02:06:637 (5,6) - feels a bit small. Consider something like this?
Image link.- 02:11:793 (1,2,3,4) - Although this is fine as it is, I would consider different slider shapes as well, to not end up boring to play and look at.
- 02:21:403 (4,5,6) - This spacing feels just a tad big. Consider something like this:
Image link.- 02:23:512 (2,4) - Some blanket adjustment needed
- 02:24:918 (3,5) - ^
- 02:31:012 (2,3,4,5) - Again some pretty big spacing. Might want to save jumps this big for the kiai section
- 02:36:638 (4) - Might want to nudge this to the right for better flow with the slider and the next note. This is somewhat subjective.
- 02:38:044 (1,2,3,4) - This pattern is a bit iffy. The spacing is fine and there's no real playability issue as far as I'm concerned, but consider trying to make this a bit more structured.
- 02:39:450 (6,9) - You know it, blanket again.
- 02:42:731 (3,4,5) - Not sure if jumps this big are great for the kind of off-time between melodic bits; might want to move 02:42:966 (4) - to the left side of the stream and blanket it with 02:43:669 (3) -
- 02:45:544 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Fairly big jumps again, although they work fine as build-up for the following part I guess. Also, 02:46:482 (5,1,2,3,4,5) - blanket 5 with the stream by making the stream with the convert-slider-to-stream tool (ctrl+f)
- 02:53:982 (3) - Consider moving downwards, to about halfway between 02:53:513 (2) - and 02:54:216 (4) - . You can also move 02:54:451 (5) - a bit to create a happy little triangle, like so [urlhttp://i.imgur.com/uh2s7IX.png]Image link.[/url]
- 02:58:669 (3,5) - Some slight blanket adjustment again
- 03:02:888 (6,7) - Blanket~
- 03:07:810 (1,2) - Consider turning this pattern upside-down, so the start is closer to the previous slider. Since this part is so calm, it's fine to have lower spacing again.
- 03:10:623 (4) - Try moving this somewhere like x:880 y:124 for more even spacing between the two sliders and this note, again since it's a calm part so jumps aren't necessary.
- 03:15:545 (1,2,3,4,5) - Again, I don't think there should be jumps here, as it's the calm sort of cool-down bit of the song. This is all pretty subjective though, I guess.
- 03:18:357 (7) - And one final blanket~
I guess that's it for me.
Sorry for the huge wall of text, and remember to take all of this with a grain of salt, as I am not a fantastic mapper, and I'm very new to modding too.
Good luck with your map!
