Little backstory:
This has been bothering me for a while now.
Osu! doesn't have a score cap but Osu!Mania does.
This only limits you (Literally), so why is this even a thing?
I've been trying to think of a good reason why this feature should exists and i can't think of one.
Which is why i'm making this post:
Combos are an essential part of the game.
But it's nearly pointless in Osu!Mania.
For example: The map "Team Grimoire - C18H27NO3(extend)" (4740 Notes).
Guy number 1 achieved 992,326 points with no misses and a combo of 4728.
Guy number 2 achieved 992,203 points with 1 miss and a combo of 2958.
I think we can all agree that this is a bit stupid.
Because of the score cap combos are basically nothing.
So why not just remove the score cap to add another layer of depth to the score system?
Removing the score cap will give these benefits:
-Combos will matter.
-Ladders won't be as close as they are now (Rank 1-20 are basically the same score on most maps).
-More points=More fun.
-Mods can have score multipliers like in Osu!.
It shouldn't be that difficult to get this done either.
It's a simple matter of calculating the new scores based on replays (How many 300's they got/combo count etc.).
