I have this thing I'm working on as well.
So, here have some shitty MIDIs I had lying around on my computer. These are going to be actually recorded sometime either next semester or at the end of this semester.
Tropophobia is a solo, atonal, expressionist piano piece, trying to capture the feeling of the titular phobia (fear of movement). The paranoia arising within you around every corner, even in a safe environment. This requires a human performance, but I figured that I might as well upload something. I could go on a much longer rant about this piece, but that's available on the sheet music.
Dialogue - III is the third movement of my 'Dialogue' suite of duets between french horn and B-flat clarinet. This is pretty generic, but there is an emphasis on the reinforcement of weak harmonic progression. This is to simulate an awkward yet sweet conversation between two people who have romantic feelings for one another. The whole 'Dialogue' suite is about, well, dialogue of some sort, whether it'd be taken literally (as musical dialogue between two instruments) or figuratively (each movement represents a different kind of dialogue; the first movement is a sorrowful constantly escalating argument and the second is a monologue with chatter in the background). Again, better explanations are available on my sheet music.
This is but a sample of what I do with my school life. Currently in the middle of a few arrangements, rewriting a libretto, and writing some more chamber music.

Tropophobia was cool, I've heard that one before. It's quite interesting. It's weird and different, and I like that. Dialogue was neat, but I think it would certainly sound better with real instruments. The pairing between French Horn and Clarinet seems rather unique to me.Mogsworth wrote:

Almost all of my pieces require real performances. I just have MIDIs for convenience reason. There's so much more going on in the rest of Dialogue, seeing how there are two other movements before it, with the second movement being, well, avant-garde-ish (is writing for just key-clicks on an instrument considered avant-garde, guys, or am I just an asshole?).Powerdrone wrote:
