Not sure if this would entail adding a new "approval" like category but for maps that are very well regarded but do not meet ranking standards/criteria it would be great if we could have scoreboards. This would help prevent some of the shitstorms that happen when trying to rank certain maps (ie. HW maps) as such maps tend not to give fuck all for pp but top players enjoy being able to compete for scoreboard fame on them as they provide an extra challenge.
This would also allow the community as a whole to "vote" for maps they want scoreboards on in a sense. In fact, maybe instead of setting the qualifying criteria for having an unranked scoreboard to be based on having X number of favorites, an actual voting system could be implemented where plays get so many votes per month (potentially supporter-only) and maps that exceed X votes have scoreboards enabled. If such a vote system were implemented I believe any individual should only be able to "vote" for a map once to prevent potential abuse.
Potential concerns are similar to that for qualified maps. Any update would flush all scores on the scoreboard.
