2vs2 would be a great idea, maybe help build teamwork and such and usually wouldn't be a problem to set up matches. Just my two cents.

It'd be great if it's a country competition, but it'll be difficult as there aren't enough good players per country for a 4vs4... so a 2vs2 is a great idea. Dunno who'll be my partner...

I don't wanna break it up like stream, jump, dash, etc. it will just get too confusing

As for mods. At the start there will be none but as the rounds progress most likely just hidden will be added.
