Kamikaze blackmailed me and told me that he'd stop doing that if I mod Monochrome.
It plays generally well, most of these are nitpicks and just ways to improve playability while keeping musical relevancy intact. I'll mod burn this moment eventually when I'm not feeling like garbage
SPOILER
[Tidek's 4K Monochrome]
OD9 please. 8 seems rather low for something as hectic as this.
00:08:559 - Same chord as the previous one, perhaps make this the same chord.
00:12:627 - Very minor complaint, but I'd prefer to see something like this instead of the pattern you currently use. If you follow this, you'd have to do the same for 00:16:377 - , 01:10:583 - and other similar rhythms.
00:26:127 - 00:43:077 - Any reason for the jumpstream to be unbroken? The music in 01:27:372 - (which is an unbroken run) is basically the same thing, only more intense and with minor differences. I think you can accent the chords just fine even if it's an unbroken stream, since you didn't place any consecutive doubles that are the same (e.g. [34][34]) for the parts where the chords are very different.
00:29:577 (29577|0,29577|3,29727|2,29727|1) - Both doubles should be the same, but considering what you'd have to do to make both chords to be the same, it's fine if you don't do that. Regardless, I'd like to see the second chord being [12] instead for fluency.
00:31:977 (31977|2,31977|0,32127|0,32127|2) - Unnecessarily rigid transition, I'd prefer [34] but if the rigidity is intentional then by all means go ahead. If you're planning to make the stream unbroken however, [14] would be ideal for a balance of rigidity and other things. [34] is just a personal preference.
00:39:177 (39177|0,39177|3,39327|2,39327|1) - refer to 00:29:577 (29577|0,29577|3,29727|2,29727|1) -, but mirrored.
00:41:502 - refer to 00:31:977 (31977|2,31977|0,32127|0,32127|2) -, but mirrored.
00:44:577 - I wouldn't seeing some 1/3 and 1/2 polyrhythms here, I'd prefer to see that instead of just 1/4s. A 1/3 and 1/4 polyrhythm would be too difficult.
00:48:627 - Try a pattern like this., would capture the melody falling well.
01:00:852 (60852|3,60852|2,61152|3,61152|2) - You should probably make these chords different, it creates an unnecessary accentuation that you didn't do for the exact sounds in this section.
01:02:652 (62652|2,62652|1,62652|0,62952|0,62952|1,62952|2,63252|0,63252|1,63252|3,63252|2) - Think you should remove one note from each chord, but keep the [123]s [12] and the [1234] as [124]. I understand that you're trying to emphasise the sound but I don't think the sound is loud enough to warrant triples and quads, especially since the triples before it have cymbal crashes and other things that are louder than the first two chords.
01:09:672 - would prefer a pattern like 23[124] for much easier transitioning, also gives a better emphasis on the triple since you're using your wrist to hit that part instead.
01:24:356 - Don't think quads are necessary here, they can just be triples. If you want to keep the quads though, you should make the first triple of each gallop [123], [124] and [234] respectively to capture the pitch going up. If you don't want to keep the quads, [123][124], [124][134], [134][234] is how I'd do it.
01:27:372 - 01:43:372 - The ending would be so hard that I think you can layer this more. It's mainly just adding doubles more than anything else, though. Adding every sound like 01:27:497 - and 01:28:372 - (doesn't have to be the same chord like [34][34] since you're already accentuating one part, but that would be a plus) would work.
01:39:497 - Should use the same trilly pattern you used for the rest of the stream for consistency.
01:34:872 - 01:35:372 - There are pretty prevalent 1/2 chords here, I feel that it'd be best to capture them. Maybe use a [34] chord and make something like this.
01:41:247 (101247|3,101247|0,101309|2,101372|0,101372|1,101434|2,101497|0,101497|3) - Rather rough pattern and it does stand out from the rest of the patterns used.
01:42:872 - Again, would prefer a 1/2 and 1/3 polyrhythm here. Seems better than a 1/4 jumptrill.
01:47:622 - Personal preference, but I'd prefer 23232[134] instead. Creates more emphasis than 13131[234], and I find it a more comfortable pattern overall.
01:59:925 - 02:02:582 - Going to try and find ways to make this easier, it's hard to make something relatively reasonable given its density though.
01:59:925 - 02:00:938 - I feel that the easiest way of making handstream like that more manageable is by reducing as many one hand trills and possible and emphasising more on the handjacks. It's manageable if the jacks are on a particular hand, like [12] or [34]. I think it'd transition nicely into the handjacks/jumpjacks as well. Something like this maybe.
02:01:047 - Very distinct lack of [12] or [34] doubles, which makes the handglut section as a whole pretty difficult to nail. It's not so much an issue for lower BPMs like 270-295, but I think it'd be nice for you to make the patterns progressively easier for the section before the 1/6s. By the time it hits 300 BPM I think some [12] or [34] doubles (the triples unchanged) should be necessary so that the player has more leverage on his wrist to hit the jacks properly. Not really sure how you'd do that though..
02:02:581 - Have the first triple be [234], then the second being [134], third being [124], fourth being [123] and repeat for the rest of that section. It'd make the last chord [123], which captures the lowest chord possible.
