In this thread it'll be discussed the possible updates of the CtB Modding Academy and the mappool changes. Feel free to discuss and add new ideas!

  1. Criteria to add new maps to the mappool: Mapsets whose mapper owns at least: 1 mapset, 2 diffs
  2. Mappool update: Every Monday
  3. Modder of the Month announcement: On the first days of the month

It's WIP, so why should it become MotW? It's not ready for mods until all planned difficulties are finished and uploaded.

It isn't in the mappool but fulfils the criteria. Only got 1 CTB mod so far, so I guess it should be fine!

Used Renatus as MotW this time, obvious reasons though I prefer to avoid posting my own maps there :S

I added some MotW which I see quite mandatory to be added, even though it's not on the list. Not all members of the academy modded it yet. Would you mind fixing the OP?

Double post because of reasons.

I want to start a discussion and hope for some participation of other BNs/QATs which have enough expertise in the CTB mode.

As probably most of you know the Modding Academy had been closed around a month ago. Still I'm seeing the academy as a great opportunity but I also see a huge lack of motivation amongst most of the CTB modders and participants within this academy in general.

I would like to see the academy open again but with the very low amount of mods given it's relatively pointless. We need to find a solution for this: How do we make CTB more interesting? How will we push the modders' motivation? What needs to be improved in the Academy to make it more interesting for others to join?

Any ideas or even just small concepts will be welcome.

The general concept is fine, but I think the concept doesn't "force the members" sufficiently to return something for the output. It's bulky and I would suggest to apply the above suggestion somehow in order to make people mod again.

Maybe we could guarantee a mod for their own beatmaps from one (or more?) BN if the modder did a certain amount [implement a number here] of mods per month. It wouldn't be too hard to implement this and keep track of. This might encourage some mappers to stay active during the month and have a chance to get their own maps qualified afterwards, or at least enhance its chances for a qualify.

Oh.. I was keep modding but completely did forget about this thread

I should work on those maps in the list as well

By the way, Can I suggest two maps to be added here?
One of them is https://osu.ppy.sh/s/188401 and the another one is https://osu.ppy.sh/s/275673 which is mapped by me (I really want to rank it but I was struggling with finding some mods from BNs)

Archiving this thread by now, since it's nowadays inactive.

Let me know if you have additional ideas to revive this thread by posting here. I'll gladly hear them all, since CtB is the less active community in terms of mapping/modding and more people are always needed. The original thread will stay stickied, as it contains general useful information.
