My suggestion for osu! is the elo ranking system used in LoL, CS:GO and many other games...

This will allow you to show your skill in a much better way (not only PP count)

Example:
0-100 PP is Bronze 1
100 - 200 PP is Bronze 2
250 - 500 PP is Bronze 3
500 - 650 PP is Bronze Elite
650 - 800 PP is Silver 1
...
5 000 PP - Challenger

and so on...

The rank will be visible in the main menu/song selection/multiplayer and on the userpage (Rank image example: http://s18.postimg.org/qxm48d8yd/silver1.jpg)

I think that's a great idea, what do you think?

Pretty sure something like this has been suggested before, and denied.
Also, pp isn't really a good way of determining someone's skill. Also your scaling is pretty damn bad. I''m pretty sure that just the number is fine, that seemed to be people's problems in league anyway, they wanted to see the raw number, and not a 'rank'.

we don't need to be put into tiers just based on our pp, what even is the point... the best idea might be to place people based on milestones they reached like if they had 5 songs they had to achieve a certain score of combo in when it comes to standard but its not really needed
