Should userpage be a public place?

My English may not be funky enough... so please ignore grammatical mistakes.

Here's the case.

Recently a high ranker of Osu (let's call him ABC) wrote something that should be considered inappropriate to be shown in the public.
To be specific, the player wrote (in Chinese): don't bother me. Don't make me delete the game. If you have any further questions, look at my icon. (the icon was a Chinese character said xxxx off)

And the userpage was posted by some other Chinese player on local Chinese forum in this thread (http://tieba.baidu.com/p/1413928634 . The post has been deleted for a couple of days). The function of this specific thread is to post news (cookiezi is banned, adamqs had another hdhr on xxx map, earned him xxx pp), and ABC's userpage was posted there, with title "ABC is going to AFK"

Well it may be my fault to consider the person who he was talking about was me. It may also be his fault of not writing who he is writing it to. Nevertheless ABC's userpage really infuriated me, since I always believed a person should be responsible for what he says, especially a high ranker, who attract more interest from the public. I wrote a comment to show my complaint, and he started swearing at me in a new thread, with really disgusting words (which is also deleted). What makes me confused is that most people who took a look at the thread thought is was my fault to question the right that a player can write anything he wants on userpage. I'm not sure if this is the result of the influence of that high ranker among the players that they chose to speak for him but not for me.

Can I criticize a person if he writes on his userpage "screw you funkyenough" or "screw every Osu! player"?
Should userpage be a public area or a private one?

I am really confused.

Thanks for your watching.

Are you talking about userpages?

Because if you are, you can criticize people on their userpages if you would like to.

Userpages are public pages that can be viewed by anyone.

Sorry I forget to mention... ABC has erased what he wrote on his homepage already and changed his icon, so there is nothing aggressive there now.

Yes it was userpage, I have edited the thread. Thank you for your reply.
Kouya-
Userpages are a public place and anyone can view it .

Even though the person has written something inappropriate, it can still be viewed and if people don't report it or the user doesn't take it off. . .

Then it will stay on that userpage until It's either reported or the user takes it off themselves or even an admin will find out about it and take it off and probably silence or ban depending on the situation and how badly inappropriate it is .

Yes, his icon was wrong.
Yes, it was rude / offensive to others.
But in my opinion, your comment wasn't necessary, a report was enough.
If I see that someone is frustrated, angry etc. (like ABC here), I'm not going to annoy him any further. However if there is something wrong in his userpage, I'll just report him, end of story...

Chinese in fact tend to view report even more offensive than commenting...

I am also curious if anyone here has ever been threatened to have a fight offline. ABC said it is common to have an offline fight if two people get very angry about each other online. What's absurd is that he lives in different city with me and he said would fly to my Shanghai and have a fight during vacation (we are having national holiday recently)... Is it merely Chinese tradition or globally accepted rule?

Userpage is considered public place and its contents must abide by the Rules.

If you see something that may be inappropriate, please use the report function (make sure that you describe the reasons clearly):

!report username reasons

Moderators will examine the case carefully and take actions if necessary. If you don't report, mods will not know.
