Anyone have mouse settings advice?

I recently upgraded my piece of crap 600 dpi mouse to a 2600 dpi mouse and am learning to adjust to the speed difference. I used to play with windows and Osu sensitivity capped because it was basically necessary but now I find it extremely hard to control if windows sensitivity is set past 6/7, even with Osu set at 1.0. My question is, would it even be worth it to learn? Is there anything I would realistically want to be moving that fast for? And if so, what's the limit? If anyone has any advice on the subject I'd be extremely interested in hearing (reading) it. Sorry if this is a question that has been asked before but I couldn't easily locate a good answer.

Set the sensitivity to a value you feel comfortable with.

For osu!, it's probably better to use a lower sensitivity if you're clicking with the mouse and a higher sensitivity if you're clicking with the keyboard. That's not a rule or anything, but it's something you should consider.

There's absolutely no reason to use a sensitivity that high. Bring your windows/osu or dpi settings down to a level that you feel comfortable with. A lower sensitivity is easier to use and will lead to more stable mouse control.

This is false.

It almost completely depends on the user's comfort level assuming a stable environment (that is, a decent mousing surface, a decent mouse, etc.).

What about for things like spinners? Isn't more pointer speed strictly better for those?

Again, depends on how you play.

Lower sensitivity players generally have more success spinning near the centre.

Higher sensitivity players generally have more success spinning wildly, hitting the edges of the screen.

That's just my observations; YMMV.

this is why you use mouse acceleration, so YOU can decide whether you want to move fast or move slow ^^

but hey, to most players in this game i am considered the devil cause i use mouse accelerate :?

Most people prefer consistency to that ability.

Like everyone said, use a sensitivity you are comfortable with.
I only use 550dpi.
Also, high sensitivity =/= jumps are easier. It is all about comfort.

mouse accelerate makes jumps too hard -_-

I suppose I should rephrase the question slightly. I have a new mouse that is VASTLY different from my old one and will have to adjust to it regardless, thus comfort isn't a major issue. Would it be better to adjust to a lower setting or a higher setting? So far it sounds like most people are saying lower is better.
anonymous_old
Adjust it how you want.

Mouse acceleration is shit, I'm not going to argue it anymore. You're arguing about more learning or less learning.

Less learning is easier. I'm sorry.

Anyone who cant adjust off of mouse accell are either wimps because they haven't tried for more than a day or two, or they are just flat out inflexible people.

1200 DPI
osu 1x
windows 6
acceleration=OFF

Acceleretion off, this is the basic set. DPI - it depends. For example, i have 1280x1024 (5x4) monitor, i play osu! on 1280x960 (4:3). In this case i use different DPI on x and y axis (in osu!).

i have trouble with mouse setting too.

i have tried several setting
1. this setting i can do better spin but bad at controlling the pointer
on mouse setting ==> 2000dpi, acceleration 10, win pointer speed 10, sensitivity 10
on windows setting ==> pointer speed 11 of 11, enhance pointer precision ON
on osu ==> sens 1.5, enable mouse precision mode

2. i can control much better but i cant do spin its too slow under 200rpm
on mouse setting ==> 2000dpi, acceleration 10, win pointer speed 10, sensitivity 10
on windows setting ==> pointer speed 11 of 11, enhance pointer precision ON
on osu ==> sens 1.0, enable mouse precision mode

I'm keyboard user, and using 1280x800 game resolution
any advice for my setting, now i'm using setting no.2

One, if you read the thread, you'd know to try turning off mouse accel.

Also, keep Window's setting in the middle (default) so it doesn't mess with your mouse's drivers too much.

@OP: Just set to whatever speed you think you can play the best in. It's all about personal preferences.

I have no idea what my mouse speed is, but I know I don't use mouse acceleration or pointer precision.

thanks strager & xXSupanoobXx
i'll try your advise, i think need some time untill i used to the new setting.
turn off accel & windows speed setting to middle.

err... maybe explaining this easyer? some people doesnt understand one bit of what you're all talking about O.o

Hi all.

Regarding spinners.

My mouse has a High/Low DPI (sensitivity) button.
When I hit a spinner, i press the button for higher sens and spin like hell ;)
