can people be really good by playing only osu!mania? i mean there are other similar games that offer harder songs like o2jam,LR2,etc which could make better reading and playing skills
so i guess i'm just gonna play o2jam and come back after some time lolDrace wrote:
Maybe it's due to how this game hasn't been running long enough. But I don't think I know anyone that went pro with -just- osu!mania. Most the pros are from other games. From the pros that started with mania, they all started using LR2 or o2jam at some point in time as their main training platform and just come back here from time to time to pop a couple scores (or never came back at all).
I mean seriously: if going pro is your main objective, a game where such nonsense is possible ( t/224534 ) shouldn't be on the top of your list. Rather, just come here to enjoy the multiplayer and the chat from time to time.
Though if your goal is just to have fun, osu!mania's social features makes this particular game a little more "fun" for many people. Spectating, game chat, map submission and multiplayer (which are all accessible at a click of a button in-game) are all things that keeps this game well-alive despite the fundamental flaws in it's core gameplay elements.
Every game gots their ups and downs, but the way I see it (and use these 3 games) is pretty simple. I use o2jam to train my LNs and higher-difficulty reading skills. I use LR2 to train my accuracy and control (it's also recently become my main platform over o2jam due to it's dan system). And osu!mania to fool around in multiplayer since o2jam's multiplayer is pretty dead.
In reality, I'm sure it's possible to break the ET barrier -eventually- with only osu!mania. But I'm also pretty certain it's much faster to reach that level in the other games that help reinforce your skills with proper mechanics.

Edit: And yes multiple converts are available, though like I said without proper mechanics it doesn't mean much. The map I played in that vid is a BMS insane scale lv2. Only rare prodigies would be clearing such levels within a year on LR2. I know many with well over 2 years that still can't groove clear. Yet look at how that difficulty gets ridiculed in this game.
well but the problem with o2jam is there's not many songs thereDrace wrote:

Do you have any idea how many people here play unranked maps because the majority of the ranked maps aren't hard enough or have enough variety in them to be worth anything other than being an easy 8 ppWaisse wrote:
Mania is my first rythm game, and I know I will not improve if I don't try other rythm games. I know I have to play more to get better, but there s not enough map for that.
Great link! I'm pretty sure if you downloaded every map from every one of those links you'd have more than 10k diffs of mania maps. Before I got my new laptop I had just under 10k mania diffs total (including ranked mania maps), and there are MANY more songs available if you check every single collection there.Midare wrote:

you just need practice by playing a lot of pending / graveyard / any other games conversion (full list link convert) or maybe playing that similar like osu!mania like o2jam, LR2, stepmania to get the "feeling"
and last words : don't ever give up. do not ever complain when your skill are on slump, and practice until you tired enough...
RIP my english was so bad ugh...
