In the past, I've used the free app Mixmeister BPM Analyzer to figure out precisely what tempos I should use when making beatmaps. I just got a new computer the other day, and didn't have the original Mixmeister installer on my old one, so I Googled the software to try and download it again. As it turns out, the primary downloads for it apparently contain all sorts of spyware and malware now, so I need to find an alternative. Does anyone know a good program for PCs (preferably free or very cheap) that does the same basic function of analyzing songs for BPM measurement?

It's better to use your ear since timing would be more precise.
I use Virtual DJ and FL Studio, when used correctly they are the perfect tools for that.
All BPM analyzers lie.
If you can't time it yourself ask someone ingame who is good at timing.
i cant get timing down when i try to map and I think it's related to how bad I am at the game since you have to tap the bpm accurately yourself...Sonatora wrote:

well most songs today are made with computers anyway so the bpm will usually be obvious (if you tap 172bpm then it's probably 170bpm or 175) so it really isn't that difficult to time something by hearing it

Thanks for the recommendations. I actually am interested in this not just for osu!, but also for making custom Rocksmith songs in Editor On Fire, which requires BPM input but I don't believe has the same "tap in sync to determine tempo" feature osu! does.

Ah, good old EoF. Mind sending me those when you're done? Actually I've got some of my own that no one has ever seen/played yet, though I don't remember how great they were. I haven't played for a long time. It might be fun to get back into it.
