Welcome to the Scandinavian Summer Open - 2014!
1. How does it work?
We wíll begin by signing up players as shown in paragraph 3.
The players will be playing in 1v1 matches FIRST against their own country in a single elimination bracket. The top 3 players from each country will then compete against each others in another 1v1 single elimination bracket. Doing it this way will give us both the top 3 players from each country as well as the overall best players in Skandi as a whole. To register you have to be part of a Skandinavian country, any participant that is not from either Sweden, Norway or Denmark will be placed in a bracket randomly or if there happens to be extra room somewhere for some reason. The brackets will have 32 players from each country if we can fill it up. If not then we'll roll with what we have.

2. General Information/Rules
- As of now, the tournament will begin at July 11th, 2014
- Registrations will stay open until we have atleast enough teams to run a successful tournament.
- Teams will consist of one player from Scandinavia only.
- Make sure you have enough time at hand for this so the tournament can run at a decent pace. If you miss your match by more than an hour you automatically lose the match and is knocked out of the running.
- New rules might be added on the go, so please check this thread frequently. Any changes will be notified.
- Be nice to each other. Remember that we're all doing this for the fun!
3. How do I register?
To register your team, please post in this topic with the following format:

4. Match Information/Rules
- The matches will be played 1v1 throughout the whole tournament. Seeding will be done based on your pp rank when the brackets are made and additional seeding for the finals bracket will be done to determine who faces who and who has to play an extra match since there's 9 players in the finals bracket
- During the match, both players will be in a multiplayer game; "Team vs." and win condition set to "Score".
- Each player will select three (4 for semis and 5 for finals/3rd place) maps from a predetermined mappool to play during their match. You are not allowed to choose a map that your opponent have chosen.
- You're allowed to pick 1 mod each player. Nomod is excluded from this, but you're not allowed to pick the same song twice either.
- In case of a tie, a predetermined tiebreaker map will be played.
- The mappool will consist of mostly Insane difficulties varying in actual difficulty, to make the tournament fun for as many people as possible. The mappool will be the same for each initial bracket, with extra mappools for semis and finals/3rd place match.
- If there is a disconnect or other disturbance during the match, a rematch is possible if both teams agree. Do note that on the slightest notice of abuse, your team will be instantly disqualified.
- Postponing a match is not possibleat all, other than 1 hour if you somehow overslept or whatever. This is because we want to hold the brackets in the same week (thursday -> sunday)
- If possible, I (Kotayo) or any other tournament staff will be staying with you in the multiplayer match as a referee. Of course, we're not participating in the actual game.
5. May I help?
Feel free to post in this thread if you want to help with one of the following points:
- Prizes - I will contribute with prizes to the winners, but it would add to the suspense if the prize pot increased a bit. All donations are welcome!
- Logo - Feel free to make make a logo for the tournament!
- Streaming (?) - If we can work out some sort of stream then yes there will be one. peppys streaming client is very wanted here.
