O!M is a waste of time.

Long notes. God I hate long notes. I could just 'get good' at them, but I'm not a 17 year old Japanese drop-out who has the perseverance to bash a keyboard for 8 hours a day. Every other day or so I hop on for a few hours and play a few songs to get a bit better - but to no avail.

I am not looking for an answer. I already know the answer; it's to play more (this game isn't very engaging). However, I want to know if anybody else has this problem.

Yeah, I get that. LNs are weird in that they're one of two skills that doesn't really improve as you work on other skills, so it's way more annoying to improve them. If you're interested, you could check out Etterna, which is a 4k game that doesn't have LN release timings at all.

Pls enjoy game.

Why dislike LN? Being bad at some pattern never stopped me having fun with it. Or does it just feel like a distraction when all you wanna do is press notes and not hold'em?

Hate comment after a failed attempt at an ln map i assume? Ln is hard to learn but once you do it's gonna be so easy you won't have any fun so cherish the difficulty

do literally any of these
1) learn LN slowly
2) learn a new key count but pay attention to LN and hope it helps the first key count (it didny work for me but hey, i can S rank 1 star below my current skill level in LN on 6k!)
3) literally etterna
4) avoid LN

I see that the problem is your motivation. Have a good mentality is very important to improve and you are very negative in this moment. You should avoid ln for a while and focus more on enjoy the game.

Also you could try percy skins, it really help with reading ln.

If nothing works you could give a break to osu for a days/weeks and do whatever you like. If you dont enjoy the game its very hard to improve.

games in general are a waste of time, just enjoy the game and play for fun. i am newbee too and have LN issue too, but i just play maps where there is a small amount LNs, but they are still there, thus I improve LN's skill a little bit
