Hopefully this thread doesn't lead to misunderstanding issue like previous before. >___>

Literally, I really want to see if the community likes it or not.

For mappers, do you often use SV for your maps? and why?
Midge
I like sv :I
Murako
Yup. SV is fun \o/
Pew_old_1
Most of the time it's fun i guess ;-;

cough smooooch cough
Fullerene-
Fun if it isn't spammed all the time and requires more time memorizing instead of actually playing the map.

I weird, since I play FL and still love SVs. I used to hate the way back when I played stepmania too lol. I dont even mind stuff that requires memorization, las long as it's possible to read the notes well enough to memorize them after a few tries. My problem with smoooch has been that i can't seem to even read the notes well enough to memorize them.
PyaKura
SV changes in smoooch are quite sudden and the fact that it is keysounded doesn't help with memorization either.

As for me, I can't live without SVs \:D/

+ IMO, without SV, mania will be completely boring (apply to some beatmap) >_>

oh wait i'm not mapper there /me runs

I've always liked fitting speed changes in rhythm games every now and then, though when it's something like Pluto, it can get a little bit annoying.
Cozzzy
Yes :D as long as it's intuitive and not spammed, or random slow-downs for half the map etc
DestinySonata
SV is really amusing. I love it.

or LeaF - I and Fascination MAXX.. haha
Yes, it's a bit annoying with all of the sudden changes that you can't keep up with but if you memorize it, you can tackle 'dem easily. But again, it's personal's choice if one wants to love it or just give up and ends with hate on SV.
bomber34
if they fit the song they are fine ...
just hope noone gets shit ranked

:( Pluto is fun to play on DDR. So is FELM and FAXX.

Chaos on the other hand...

SV is cool if done right; if it's done like chaos / smooch... blah.
ArcherLove
I'm sorry I love it :(
Raging Bull
I love SV. Trigger happy :3

I really want a proper LeaF - I mapped in o!m. the autoconvert is just... weird.
PyaKura
I'd love to map it when I'm done with End Time... we'll see.

Tbh, if you look at original BMS of it, it's far more worse than the ranked ones here in terms of note density plus with unforgiving gimmicks/bumps. Really, you should look at it. ;)
Flanster
I love SV changes but only when used correctly. Gives off a nice effect to the notechart.

actually the bms one is quite easy to follow since the beats are consistent, there's a scratch before every slowdown so you know exactly where to expect the SV changes. in osu it just randomly happens with no warning and you must memorize
Ryu Sei
Can't play without SV changes.

in that case, osu ones is harder then. haha
Taadashi
I don't really like them, but don't really hate 'em either. As long as they're rhythmically placed I guess it's fine. :)
[TIM]
I don't mind it usually, unless it has random speed changes that make it almost impossible to play correctly just from actually listening to the tempo of the song.
kidlat020
Something like this?

I really like SV changes when fit with song well(example: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/144699), But really really hate Meaningless SV changes.

sometimes SV changes work fine. sometimes it is just unnecessary and annoying, especially when a mapper is not aiming to add SV changes in a basis of making charts fun but only aiming to entertain himself lol
Cuppp
SVs can add depth to an otherwise bland map in my opinion. They're very fun to play if they're readable and it feels very rewarding if you hit them right.

I try to share my love for SVs in my maps at least, hoping to convert some none-SV believers :x
Zillah
SV is the soul of a map (if it makes sense and is meaningful)
kidlat020
I kinda tested Leaf - I without any SV changes. it was horrible.

you just got to love dem bpm changes as long as it is flavorful.
QQQK
SV changes are wonderful, as long as they are sightreadable. I don't like spending 10+ playcount just to memorize where the map speeds up and slows down.
Secretpipe
Kinda fun sometimes ( but SV is smooooch is horrible xD)
PyaKura
All hail SVs (as long as it's not unreadable/random).
Bobbias
Well apparently I can FL Smooooch now, so I can't really complain that the SVs are impossible any more.
Pinecone
I don't like SVs from my experiences with osu!mania honestly.

I like SVs that I can actually see (means that speed is already halved or slowed down before any note falls and doesnt just randomly slowdown during play) and I haven't seen too many maps that have this kind of SVs afaik.
Reba
It's fun but i dont really like it
Ichigaki
Actually i love SV that can be read clearly, not the sudden SV .-.
SV is fun :3, especially on song that have speedy beat :3
iderekmc
what is sv? slider velocity? no so why do 2 different things from the same game osu have the same acronym or whatever u call it?

SV means slider velocity. In osu!mania slider velocity changes the speed that the notes move, but without hanging the actual BPM.
ikzune
got so much better in 4k once i started using sv
arviejhay
Because It can make the map more nicer and awesome.
A map without SV (If the song is needed a SV changes) is like a person without soul in his/or her heart.
pengomon
For me as player, playing a mania-beatmap (notechart, -red) with SV changes (everywhere) is more challenging than a beatmap without SV change. I don't know why but because I'm pumper (Pump It Up player) who like tricky stepcharts, I like SV changes in mania-beatmap too. :D

For me as mapper, making SV changes it's so good. But it's hard too for making a beatmap be full-gimmick or tricky map. :o
Natame-
Tbh i like SV Changes as long it's not overused (like they did in Smooch)
It's fun though.

Also: Tasty teleports and warps? If done good, yes please. If not, go to hell

Slowjams and whole song sections being sped up? go to hell So can't really vote.

I hate having to spam a map to understand the song's SV changes, in all honesty. I can play the song fine if the rhythm isn't fucked around with. Why not normalize the map?
[/opinion]

I can understand actual SV changes. You know, when a song's ACTUAL BPM changes. But maps like https://osu.ppy.sh/s/144959 should NOT be ranked. Especially due to SV changes on the last few hold notes on the MX variant. SV changes on the end notes just to fuck up HD or FL players? Serious? Disappointing, not necessary. If they had any purpose other than to fuck with the player, then I'd be fine. Only if the changes were even beneficial in the first place...

[/rant]

I can understand SV changes, just when well used. But it seems very often that people misuse the FUCK out of SV changes. So I don't vote.
onehundred1
I hate it here. It seems like 90% of the charts ranked with SV changes don't even know how to properly calculate the proper speed and when to put the change to make it smooth. People should learn how to make speed changes in BMS by using actual BPMs first imo.

Suddenly putting "25% then off to 75% then to 100%" is just plain bad.
