I honestly think it's true what they say about the life cycle of an osu player. I first used osu as an aim trainer for overwatch, but then I started getting more into it. I started realizing the simplicity and vibing to music is just fun. I started making friends in this community, challenging others to get better, playing in tournaments and in discord calls with the boys was always fun.
I can't help but look back on my 7 years of osu! and realized it was really good. Despite all the anguish I lamented trying to improve at streaming or getting a 500, it never really mattered, cause I just enjoyed playing multiplayer or tournaments with the boys.
Fast forward to today, my osu friends don't even play anymore but like 1 of them consistently, which is crazy cause all of the people I knew were crazy good, but I guess that's life.
It's also the same as me, I haven't even broken 100 play count since june of 2023. I only play osu now to listen to my favorite songs.
Oddly enough, osu! got me into metalcore and my friends, but I've been an absolute metalhead now for 2 years and going to concerts.
I'm so proud my first concert was Veil Of Maya. All because of this map beatmapsets/480298#osu/1215688.
Ever since then I've gotten into bands like currents, wage war, spirit box , erra. All because of osu.
God damn this game is probably the only game i'll ever truly stick with even into my 60's.
Looking back at it, especially "veterans" of osu, how was your experience? and did it influence your life in a positive or good way?
PS: sorry for rant :3
