Welcome to Goofy Ahh Showdown! This tournament aims to provide proffessional tournament experience without having to sacrifice on humour and memes. All rules in detail will be written here, while for quick access, the most important ones are in the TL;DR tab above for quick access.
To add some spice, we will be doing a special bounty system with a separate prize for everyone to participate in! More on that later in the post.
- All players must be on the Discord server throughout the tournament
- Goofy Ahh Showdown is a 1v1 tournament made for osu!Standard players
- Tournament enforces BWS ranking system, standard formula applies:
BWS = global_rank^(0.9937^(badge_count^2)) - Score V2 and NF enforced
- Tournament uses double elimination bracket, starting with Qualifiers stage
- Commentators and streamers are allowed to participate, while the remaining staff is not.
- Eliminated players may apply to become refferees in future matches
Qualifiers:
- Players may sign up to given lobbies, as long as they are not full
- If under any circumstances neither lobby seems for the player, they may ask for creating an external lobby on Discord
- Up to 16 players may play simultaneously in a qualifier lobby
- Maps in Qualifiers lobbies will be played with V2 and NF, as well as their corresponding mod
- The refferee will invite all players to their corresponding lobby no later than 5 minutes before it begins
- In the Qualifiers lobbies, all maps will be played in order from top to bottom on the spreadsheet
- Between maps, players will be given 90 seconds to "ready up"
- During the Qualifier lobbies, the mappool will be played only once
- If the player joins in late for the lobby or disconnects during playing a map, they can replay all affected maps after the lobby finishes
Afer all Qualifiers matches conclude, players will be ordered by their performance on each map according to their scores. The place they earn on each map will give them a corresponding amount of points. Afterwards, all points of all players will get summed up and players will be seeded in an ascending order. The 64 players with the lowest amount of points gained this way will make it to the Bracket stage.
Bracket stage:
- The refferee will invite both players no later than 5 minutes before the match begins
- If the player is late by more than 10 minutes to the match, they automatically forfeit the match. If both players are late by more than 10 minutes, match is forfeited in favor of the player with higher seed
- Warm ups up to 4 minutes 30 seconds are allowed
- The refferee will ask both players to use the !roll command. The player who rolls a higher value will be asked to choose the pick or ban order, while the player who rolled the lower value with choose the remaining order
- Players have 90 seconds to pick or ban and ready up. no extra timer will be provided after the map gets picked
- A player can not ban two maps from the same mod pool. They are not allowed to pick two maps from the same mod pool consecutively neither. This rule does not apply to NM mod pool
- Players are given 90 seconds to make a decision to pick, ban or ready up. If the player does not fit in the given time, they lose the map, forfeit their ban, depending on which is aplicable
- If a player disconnects within first 30 seconds or first quarter of a map, they may replay it once per match. The players are allowed to replay a map once per match each. Otherwise, the opposing player gets the point
- For ForceMod (FM) and TieBreaker (TB) picks, all mod combinations of HD, HR and EZ are allowed. While playing forcemod, players must use at least one of those mods, while during tiebreaker, players may, but don't have to use them
A single map from each mappool in Bracket stage will be exchanged with a meme pick. The meme pick is scored normally, however it will also have a special condition to it that does not conclude the regular points. However, the winner of the meme pick gets a special meme point that lasts the entire tournament. The player with the most meme points after Grandfinals match concludes wins the special prize!
