Ok, but, Some of us Watching some Gems like DanTdm, Pewds, Jacksepticeye, Vanoss, etc

Also, The Modern slangs, I remember the quote Get rekt, i heard of that sometimes in mid 2010s
Nowadays Theres many slangs, Thx To Kai cenat and DafuqBoom like, Rizz, Skibidi toilet, Gyat, etc

Also, im that very young to know that
Your choice of entertainment is only limited to yourself. You can judge others all you want but don't be suprised later that other generation also ridicule you for the same reason. It's a never-ending loop of 'Back in my days' type of thing.

yeah gameplay channels where not the best either. It's true that nowadays stuff is more optimized to catch attention and whatever, but we should not put danTdm as a golden example of a good youtube channel

I disagree with the premise of the question on itself, gen alpha on itself is not bad, if anything, the fault should lay on the adults for raising the kids that way
it's not the adults' fault if the children don't listen to their parents and prefer listening to some andrew tate or things like that
adults are largelly responsable of what their 8yo kid does. If their brain gets rotten because of tiktok, it's the parents fault for showing them tiktok
it would be weird to see a parent showing their child how to use tiktok and how to rot your brain lol...
If a kid watches tiktok, that is because the parent either doesn't care or wants or the kid to do so. If they don't, that is also their parents decision, in any case, the things you point out like tiktok ruining their brains, is only if their parents allow them to happen, which is why I say, gen alpha are children, in any case, we should complain about their parents

as long as they mewing rizz ohio gwatt skibidi bop bottom w fr ong no cap, ... there is no hope.

Jokes aside, I don't blame them - and they're still children. Just let them be. I am more worried for next generations not being able to focus while most of them already grow up with children's series that include flashy and bright colors only to catch interest, also short clips usually. Creators of these confirmed to have intentions to keep them watching as long as possible and even tested it on them (if they looked away, it will get noted and corrected, causing huge addiction to media consumption in early ages. So, tiktok basically exists for them already. All I'm saying: this is going to be interesting...

They're still kids, like, the oldest one of them is like, 14? Naturally kids are somewhat stupid.

It is though. Lack of parental supervision and most importantly, the failure to establish themselves as figures of authority is not precisely the kid's fault. The rhetoric of "kids nowadays are rebels" has been there since millenia.

Now, of course, each generation has their challenges and handicaps while being raised, and I won't deny that parents exposing their children to the internet at a VERY early age is indeed a problem, but either way, it's mostly on the parental resposibility.

Adding to this, parents CAN limit their children usage of technology and blocking them from accessing certain apps or webpages, like, there are parental control tools which can be used for the children's safety. What we need to do is a better education for the parents to know how to keep their children safe on the web, as it is a very dangerous place for them to be unsupervised, moreso now.

In terms of the whole TikTok and chatbots thing, I totally agree that they are dangerous as hell. I know people very close to me who literally cannot watch movies because TikTok has degraded their attention span, which I think is fucked up. Also, some people in my Adv Higher English class cant sit through a 1hr 40min class with a reasonably chill teacher and nice class without getting distracted and complaining about having to analyse like 2 poems a day as if thats bad. It all comes down to attention span degradation, and its terrifying that if we are Gen-Z (most of my year is '06-'07, I'm early '07) then what is it like for the kids in First and Second year while my year is like this in our last, Sixth year of high school. Some people I know in the years below and from just helping at school events I can see there is a larger distaste in the idea of school and education - more troublemakers, more people skipping school often, etc. It seems to be those in late primary school transitioning to high school, roughly P6-S2 have had it the roughest, having hard time being that their first years of high school were primarily in home-learning. I think it's an interesting topic to look at because Covid, TikTok, and things like ChatGPT abuse are rampant factors in play, and that's just looking at the effect on their education. By ChatGPT abuse I mean using it to write entire things for a class. While I've used it here and there for advice, word choice, structure, and such, I have never fully written something using the software while I know people who will just go "write me a 2000 word 4 paragraph essay about ----" and hand it in. They have scanners to try and detect it now but ChatGPT has gotten so good at writing it's own original stuff that its hard to not believe it or catch it when it comes up.

Basically, kids are doomed if nothing happens - their attention span is going to turn into absolutely fuck all, and they're gonna drop out as soon as they can or they're gonna spend 2 mins having a website write important, SQA marked papers for them because why would they put effort into something a bot can do for them.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about being in school in the current situation, ask away if you have any.

(Edit: To justify, I don't use TikTok, and my attention span seemed fine, so I asked people who do use if they feel that is what diminished their attention span. Some were outright honest and said it likely was, but that they will continue using it, while some said it was not a factor even though they admitted the attention span decrease spiked around the time they began using TikTok.)

*kinda bad opinion warning!!!*

i've thought about this for a pretty long time but honestly i can't think of any good way to save gen alpha. they will always be tiktok users, and chatbot users, and have 5-second attention spans, and have decreased social interaction... this is the lifestyle they chose. if parents and adults try to stop this, children will just view them as obstacles to their desires. i also believe that children are fully responsible for what they do (and not the parent). they are humans and they have the ability to make decisions, and a lot of the time they'll think "why listen to someone who's just trying to stop me from having fun?"

because the media is arguably the most influential figure on younger generations i think putting positive messages there and increasing media regulation (to stop negative messages/misinformation) would have a greater impact on teaching children to make good decisions. if we can satisfy children's needs then perhaps they'll finally get the message. but considering basically every generation has tried to make the next generation behaviourally closer to them, and yet wide generational gaps still exist, i would expect the behaviour of gen-a to continue, and some of the consequences to manifest (whether in a negative way or not), and we'll just have to deal with it

So basically, the ones bordering on my generation and Gen-A are a strange anomaly in that they sometimes try to have the humour and interests our generation has, whilst doing activities and having the personalities of Gen-A, causing a weird clash literally within themselves. A lot of them are very prone to outburst and just being general dickheads, i'm guessing due to disconnection from society at such a pivotal age of their lives. Also, not being in high school for First Year which would usually allow them to meet their new classmates from other schools has made them cling more to the people the year or years above them that they remember from primary school, especially those with siblings. I know some youngers that should have new friends but just hang around with their brothers and sisters in S5/6 because it was too hard to make friends during and after online learning. Basically, they try to copy how my generation acts and thinks and what we find funny while it doesnt fit their actual personality so it creates these really annoying people. Again, a general disinterest in school is also likely at fault for them being so annoying within the school building as they really just dont want to be there. Considering writing an essay basically about the topic of this thread as a whole cause its just so strange the effect on the younger years, will probably share if I do it.

i didn't even know that there are Gen Z people who are trying to imitate other generations... it must be so embarrassing to see

I have quite mixed opinions about it. All i can say is that their childhood is like our childhood when we have looked up in the internet. Technically it’s their parents responsibility on what content their watching and gen alpha just stumbled at those stuff. Pretty much in the future they will find those things cringy and we just have to be patient ig lol

The main reason why a lot of Gen Alpha kids are the way they are is because from a very young age, parents would just lend their child an IPad and set it to YouTube and just call it a day. This is what led to Elsagate back in 2017.

I'm not entirely sure myself.

I've heard some extreme conservatives call anything that features a person who's not white, straight, or cis woke.

But from what I've seen I think the term means any product that cares more about shoving liberal politics down people's throats than actually being high quality.
Patatitta
woke culture is a term to really disacredit left-wing ideas, it's mostly a strawman used by far-right americans. Stuff like, "they must keep politics out of films!!!" and politics in this case means passing the bechdel test. Please don't fall for that shit

I wouldn't say that the term woke is only used by the far-right. Yes, there are definitely 40-something year olds out there that cry about a gay character being in their child's cartoon and scream "WOKE!", but there have also been times where companies will sacrifice the quality of their product, sometimes to a large extent, just to be known as based to Twitter users.
Neigdoig
As an '02 Zoomer, I can say that, based upon what children are seeing nowadays, they're toast. I had seen a good video called "The Tragedy of Generation Alpha" or something like that on YouTube. They're absolutely doomed based upon the circumstances they've been forced into. Plus, how children's videos are edited to be fast paced and mindless entertainment is complete and utter garbage that content farmers love, how they can completely enamor a child with just editing techniques to addict them. It's sad.

In the united states even some left-wing ideas would be considered right wing here, so the right wing ideas are basically far right for me. And I assume you're talking about "forced inclusivity" and all that stuff, but honestly, even if you made it "non-woke" by replacing the gay character with someone straight or whatever, the end product is basically the exact same. Not to mention all the stuff that is "woke" yet really works and is popular, for example, the barbie movie. The videogames and movies on itself are just a bad cashgrab, it's not because it's woke or it isn't woke, it's that it just sucks

Again, that's not what I'm talking about. Being "woke" isn't bad when a show or game just so happens to have a gay or trans character, it's bad when the game or show cares solely on minority representation and hopes that people like it only based on that.

Take last year's Velma for example. Everyone and their grandma was talking about how awful it was. There was a point in time where you couldn't go on YouTube without seeing a review for how bad Velma was. People didn't hate it because they're racist sexists who hate black women starring in games or shows, they hated it because almost every other thing about the show was low-quality.

as you said, velma just sucked, it doesn't matter if it was "woke" or not, it would have sucked anyways. Woke is only something that is present when something sucks. If those same woke elements are in a good movie, then, no one cares, but the moment those elements get into a movie that is bad, how dare they, this is forced representation, it didn't need it (tbh having to justify putting a gay character in is kinda strange on itself). And that is because woke on itself really has no meaning or weight. A show isn't going to be better or worse for making one character black. Woke is just a term used to "own the sjws" or whatever

for another example of woke you have bud light, they once made an advertisement featuring a trans person, and people just tried cancelling bud light for being woke.

Ofc. It's the same thing again of 'back in the day-ism'

It's tough to say before they've reached adulthood and fully developed their personalities. It's tough to say that each generation is just an exaggerated version of the former. Lots of times different age groups strive to be different.

Its basically every generation ever. Older generations hating on newer generations and vice-versa, smth like that.

But I think the older Gen Alphas (2010 to 2015) OR (2012 to 2015) is going to be fine unless they arent autistic asf and have hyper adhd... but 95% of the younger Alphas (2015-16 to 2023) are gonna be absolutely fucked by tiktok brainrot

yes, it is worse than that as well I’ve found through some new research. whoever the guy was who joked "heh I bet soon they won’t be watching 24 min anime episodes" you’re not too far off; one of my friends said he put on a show to start watching on Netflix and then realised it was ~35 mins per episode, he turned it off right away and his justification was that it was too long and was going to bore him. if you would like to guess what I see this guy doing more often than anything, that would be TikTok and insta reels. the more short form content takes over and people are getting these bullshit dopamine hits from having subway surfers in the bottom of the screen, the more people are like "nah, if I watch a film there’s all this exposition and plot foundation and char. building, I think I’ll just sit on TikTok all day" and as stupid as it sounds they actually do it. the world is genuinely going to shit.

As for cultural differences, I think most Gen Z-ers were perceived similarly 5-6 years ago (with the dab and other memes I no longer remember).
