Hello, new mapper!
If you're coming across this forum post, chances are high you're a newer mapper! Mapping good is pretty hard. There's a lot of information to take in and parse, and when you're on your own, it can be frustrating to know what to do for improvement. But, it doesn't have to be that way!
I'm bokeru, originally known as Xandit. I used to be primarily an aim-farm mapper, but now I'm a primarily modern-tech mapper with also strong ties to modern-vanilla and, am quite flexible overall. I've been teaching (honestly, to varied levels of success) for 5 years, and with that knowledge, I would love to spread it to anyone willing to hear me out.
In this mentorship, I'll teach you how to map with the guide of your own aims as a mapper. We'll be going over fundamental concepts that will help you understand what you can use to create intentionally made, well rounded mapsets, regardless of style, and understand different maps. If you've got maps and mappers you look up to, we'll work around that, and if not, I can assist in helping you find maps you'll resonate with!
Rules and Stuff
The format is simple:
I'm primarily looking for, but am not limited to (AT ALL):

Rules and Stuff
The format is simple:
- Every week (shorter or longer depending on your needs), I ask for a short segment of mapping, 20-40 seconds that includes the chorus of a song.
- I then put some time aside to take some notes on the map and recommendations for the next step.
- We both go over the map and notes (preferably over vc, but i am adaptable) and I either give you a hands-on short exercise before you go off to next week's segment, or simply tell you to incorporate some kind of concept in your next segment.
I'm primarily looking for, but am not limited to (AT ALL):
- mappers with less than 6 months of mapping experience
- people who like otogecore/rhythm game music
- people who are trying to discover their mapping preferences
- shared hobbies would be nice (music making, other rgs, furry, k-pop)
